  2. The hits they're getting off Davis are pretty cheap, save that triple.
  3. OBP + SLG. It's a pretty tough concept. You guys are jerks.

  5. [ And the mancrush continues.... ] I prefer to think of it as a semi-mutual connection.

  7. Welcome, PirateScott. Nice to have some "enemy blood" in here! Best of luck to the Buccos, but hopefully, only after they leave town http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. TBD's got a rubber arm. ...and Khalid will strike out 7 tonight.
  9. I'm in the planning stages for alternatives to the current chat room....
  10. It's not even 3 hours past bar time. I think you can "continue" to drink.
  11. Whelp, I just got back from the store to get my 10 copies of the paper. The bad news is that the photo got cropped and only shows my mugshot on page 13A. The great news is that the article is actually a front-page article of section A, and Brewerfan.net gets mentioned on the front page of the Journal/Sentinel! So, thanks go out to Graeme Zielinski of the J/S for taking an interest in the site and generating hopefully some new interest in Brewerfan.net!
  12. Hopefully the photo gets in the paper copy....
  13. I believe the limit's 25, and unfortunately, I don't have any control over it.
  14. [ So who plays the outfield then? Billy Hall? Yipe. Probably not the best idea... ] Branyan could have probably slid over to RF without a problem.
  15. [ Ned Yost should have been the man of the clubhouse and sat Jenks down, played baseball the way it is supposed to be played, and moved the runners up 90 feet with the Veteran - Damian Miller - coming up to take care of the rest. ] I don't necessarily disagree with moving the runners over with a bunt, but it's interesting to note Miller left more men on base than Jenks did today. Which is odd, given the fact that he had a multi-hit game.
  16. I'll give the Least Valuable Player awards to two players: Jenkins - 1-5, 4 LOB. Phelps - for his infinite ERA today Yeah, Clark should have had it.... and even though it made sense for Jenks to bunt, I can't get too mad considering Geoff hasn't had a SH since 1999.... but Jenks was awful, and Phelps showed why he almost didn't make the 25-man roster.
  17. The Brewers walk away with a winning road trip, even after losing two games to their North Side enemies. Doug Davis beat the Pirates last week, and looks to settle into an April groove, as he's had moderate lifetime success against the Bucs, sporting a 3.48 ERA. Kip Wells gets the nod for the Pirates, who hasn't had much luck at Miller Park, with a 5.24 ERA in his last 6 starts. 19. Chad Fox is like a 1987 Ford Tempo. You buy him cheap, and then run him into the ground. It's not worth trying to take it easy on him to make him last, because you know he's just going to fall apart anyways.
  20. Your Milwaukee Brewers lick their wounds as they take the first loss of the year in a woeful offensive display. Victor Santos takes the mound for his first start of the year, and has a 2.64 ERA against the Cubs. Of course, the vampire has a 8.71 ERA during the day, so all bets are off. Greg Maddux was shelled by lefties in his first start (with 11 left-handed hitters having a 1.500 OPS against him), but he's had the Brewers' number over the past 2 years, with the club only being able to hit .227 off him. 21. [ Are box scores still going to be posted in the link report? or just on the scoreboard portion? I clicked on the scoreboard part of the main page, but it came up with nothing. ] I'm going to (or perhaps another member of the site if they can do so before I get to it) be posting box scores in the scoreboard link on the home page. Often, the sportsticker box scores aren't ready until morning or mid-morning, so that's why Mass Haas posts the links to the other box scores. I'm not sure what Jim's plans are for the link report, but those are my plans for the scoreboard page.

  23. If no one else's doing it, i'll try and do a play-by-play of the WV game, at least up until the Nashville game starts. I'm stuck at work tonight, so i'll be around.
  24. Let's try and get 2 out of 3 tomorrow, boys. Don't forget to tune into the Nashville game tonight... They've been mashing.
  25. Now his slider isn't breaking. Time to bust it open, it's open season.
