Which didn't start until December '44, but point taken and observed. Speaking of which, here is a good story of a couple of professional players who did work in WWII (well worth the read): http://deadspin.com/visitors-to-hell-how-two-minor-leaguers-earned-their-m-1586961942
I'm a little surprised to see Lohse in there still. He's been getting hit all night. I guess because RR couldn't pinch-hit for him, the card says to keep him in the game one more inning.
Get $2MM now, and $200MM+ if you're a star in MLB. Or go play WR at Nebraska where you may never be heard from again. Best case, have a much shorter NFL career and make a fraction of the money, And lose to the Badgers.
How many times is RR not even going to go out and get the replay reviewed by his guys, before asking for a replay? Seems like we've seen it quite a few times already.
My favorite Lohse moment was when he impersonated Tony LaRussa before a game. http://i.usatoday.net/sports/_photos/2011/06/06/cardinalscoverx-large.jpg
I thought for certain Lucroy was safe; didn't even think it was close. With all these replays, it shows you how good the umps really are (for the most part). I'll admit there are a few umps out there who are just plain bad. CB Bucknor and Bob Davidson at the top of the list.
