  1. As they mentioned last night on the broadcast, having Yelich means you can rotate more players into/out of the lineup to keep them fresh. As for Dunn, I'm not sure what to think. His defense plays and he can put together pretty good at bats but he has a really big hole in his swing in the upper part of the zone. I would say the Brewer management feels he can learn in the Bigs, like Chourio, but his lack of hard contact lately has me wondering. Bauers is a player that I think probably has the shortest leash, even though he can play in the outfield, too. I guess they want Black playing every day in AAA rather than 3-5 days a week up here, if that's what it would've been. Some of these are good problems to have, IMO.
  2. I assume TB will be back up in a more permanent fashion a bit later in the year when the dust settles from more moves, injuries, etc. I don't really care for the move, but I get it,
  3. Can they make tonight the tonight they win after trailing through 8?
  4. Two runs feels like a lot the way they have been looking at the plate lately. Aside from some long balls, doesn't feel like this team drives the ball with any consistency. The outfielders in particular look tired like their swings don't have much leg behind them. Hopefully they can prove me wrong.
  5. Feels like they're due for an offensive outburst here any day; would be really nice if they could pair that with a lengthy start from Rea.
  6. Turang plays plus-plus defense, so of course Clancy wants him traded.
  7. I don't think I would argue otherwise, and I've basically looked at him as a stop-gap until Weeks is the manager and Murph retires with his MLB pension (if he doesn't have it already) and he's ready to step away from managing.
  8. I'm not sure what a manager is going to do when the offense looks like it does. There are just way too many guys who probably shouldn't be out there every day. I think this is the year to play them to see what we have but the future of this offense is who, and who actually excites you? Contreras? Frelick looks like his "power" is going to be from balls hit down the line that he's legging into extra base hits. Hoskins has been..meh.. Dunn looks like he belongs in AAA. Ortiz doesn't appear to be a high slugging player. Chourio is 20 years old after skipping AAA. There are a lot of issues with this team. Not trying to tell anyone to stop complaining in the thread because I'm routinely the biggest culprit but it's probably good to keep this season in perspective a bit, as frustrating as it is.
  9. He was always going to be out. They had one camera angle and it wasn't clear he was safe. Fine with the gamble. This team isn't going to string together a bunch of hits and they need to make something happen.
  10. I'm fine bringing Koenig in.. he just needs to be better.
  11. This team has a weird knack for committing multiple boneheaded plays in one inning. The ball hit at Adames was a tough play with that runner but he still could have made that play. Perkins.. not sure what he's doing there. The run was scoring and he just needs to keep the damage to a minimum.
  12. Holy crap I did't realize Sal Perez was still playing. That's awesome. I swore he retired.
  13. Yeah that's definitely something I've noticed in the first 30+ games. If the opposing pitcher is throwing strikes with more than one pitch, they're likely to have a good game because each hitter will be down in the count before they can blink.
  14. Palencia super pumped to get the last out in a 5-0 game that was over before it even began.
  15. These guys are playing like they're hungover today. Oh well.
  16. Just one of those days. Not sure what it is, but Counsell should basically let the starter pitch the whole game because the hitters can't touch them.
  17. Agreed. I don't think it's his footwork or his timing. He's getting some pitches to hit and he's just not hitting them and then he's seeing MLB pitching for the first time. We'll see where he hits when Yelich is back but overall it looks like his bat is pretty good and quick and I think he'll hit.
  18. Nope, Best pitch to hit was the first one and he missed it.
