  1. Pitch, I've read about people calling Directv to complain about the Viacom channels that are under dispute and getting deep discounts on premiums, including the Sunday Ticket. Haven't tried it myself, so YMMV. Also, Directv is offering the Encore movie channels free until the end of the month because of the dispute.
  2. If I had a nickel for every time I heard, "It used to work. . . but I didn't change anything," I'd be able to retire from IT.
  3. Thanks, thablingster! One down. Next one: that age old mystery, what women want. This may take a while
  4. We still never answered the question: Can Bill Hall pitch?
  5. Were it not for all the publicity problems south of the border, I'd add in Mexico City or Monterrey. I hear the north side of Chicago could use a pro team. Just had to do that one. Seriously, I'd love to see Montreal - but would they take MLB back?
  6. I went through Carsoup and all the dealers I looked at cars through had the carfax included online. If the car you're looking at is through a dealer, you may want to go there and see if you can look at the carfax that way.
  7. Adding on to Patrick's idea, which makes too much sense by the way, if the new arena were built near the Summerfest grounds, parking could be shared between the two as their seasons are exclusive.
  8. Both Tom H. and Adam M. tweeting that Gamel told players that he needs knee surgery. Not good.
  9. Done several times over. Go, Dawgs!!!!
  10. Curse you Nottso - even with the warning! I'm very partial to music from that era, so that doesn't help. That earworm is the equivalent of what crawls in Chekov's ear in ST II. GAAA! (Nice one, though!)
  11. Great stuff, especially the t-ball all-star!
  12. Would a wireless transmitter like this work? http://www.amazon.com/Nyrius-NY-GS3200-Wireless-Transmitter-Receiver/dp/B000GJKV9A
  13. He seemed like he would live forever. http://todayentertainment.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/18/11270165-dick-clark-dead-at-82?lite
  14. It's been a few years, but http://www.heartlandbrewery.com/ was good. Also, (warning - unsolicited restaurant advice forthcoming ) Frankie and Johnnies' Steakhouse isn't cheap, but the steaks were awesome. Also, I don't remember the name, but there was a diner near the Marriott Marquis that had a great breakfast for a reasonable price (for that area).
  15. I think he got singled out because WTMJ-620 had him on the air this morning. What was once a golden marketing opportunity went downhill really fast.
  16. Yep - I still remember Bart Starr coaching the Packers to a 61-7 loss to the Bears. Lindy Infante, anyone? How about Barty Smith? I remember watching the All-Star games in the 70's as that was my only chance to see a Brewer on tv the entire summer. The Bucks need to get a Ron Wolf or Harry Dalton (or Mark Attanasio) type to really turn things around. People will come, but there aren't as many hard-core NBA fans here as other cities so a competitive team is needed to bring up attendance. Gawd am I old
  17. Maybe this helps explain the onslaught of extensions lately - and gives (at least me) hope that ZG is next. From Tom Verducci, SI.com: Meanwhile, Selig is sitting on another potential gusher of money: the national network TV package. MLB officials will begin negotiating a new deal this year to replace the one that expires after next season. These negotiations are happening not only as regional sports networks have bid up the value of baseball programming, but also as national networks engage in dogfights to secure exclusive sports programming. Owners are already spending the coming windfall (see extensions for Matt Cain, Joey Votto, Andrew McCutchen, etc.). 18. You gotta fight fire with fire. If he's playin' Walk Like a Man, sample some of Loving You (Minnie Riperton) and set it to repeat. High frequency earplugs recommended. Plus, you may get a few dogs in the area to howl along.
  19. Same here - (sigh). It took me 5 minutes to get the hook, line, and sinker out. Nice one, TBWS!
  20. Nottso - You and and me both signed, another old cranky old dude
  21. My Ad-aware toolbar on Firefox is now showing cnn.com as a malicious or unsafe site. Curious.
  22. Bump. Just because. Guess why Gawd, I'm pathetic
  23. Bing has the interior of the Milwaukee Art Museum as its picture today.
  24. Just the latest buzzword for corporate uppities to think they're on the forefront of technology. It's just another example of giving up direct control of something to save a few bucks - not like that's ever backfired before
  25. Agreed. I hate ring 'harlots' with a passion, in any sport. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff144/DatHoser/Gollum.jpg
