  1. No. YESUmmm........no. I would've absolutely loathed it, WS win or not.
  2. I agree, but Prince watches some of his tape measure jobs too. What gets me is when Pujols watches a long fly ball, and it ends up not going out of the park. To my knowledge, Prince has never done that. Right. Everyone admires their home runs sometimes. Pujols does it every single time. And his doubles. And his warning track outs. He had a great look at his fly out to RF last night. God, I hate him.
  3. I guess I don't value Doubront much. Anderson is worthless. He's been very pedestrian recently. I admit to not knowing a ton about Bogaerts, other than he's a toolsy shortstop 3b type. In any case, Hart and Marcum are worth a hell of a lot more than that. If the Red Sox "don't have any talent that is worth something for Hart and Marcum", why are we talking about the Red Sox? I don't see any way Fukudome gets $6-$8M/year. And if he does, let somebody else give it to him. He's a 4th OF/platoon guy. No way is he worth that. Rizzotti is another guy I don't know a whole lot about. I would do the deal because McGehee is garbage. I should've said that in my first post.
  4. Yep. Exactly right.
  5. Wow. I pretty much hate all of this except Scutaro (and he'll get more money than $1.5M. Probably a lot more). Also, the Escobar/Gamel thing is OK I guess. I don't really value Gamel at all, so I guess if you can get something for him, fine. The Red Sox trade is brutal. If we were tanking to rebuild, it'd be one thing, but you're obviously not rebuilding, so......... And Fukudome for 3/$24 is horrible. Twice what he'll get. Or at least twice what he should get.
  6. That's not at all what I was saying. But yes, it is obnoxious when it becomes necessary after every single base hit. Sure is. So glad that it's over.
  7. Well hey, pimping ain't easy. All aboard the ho-train! Barmes is my guy. I've always liked him (don't know why, he's not that great), and he'd be a very good fit for this team. Clearly, something has to be done about the "defense".
  8. I'm disappointed. I would've thought this thread would've been posted before that last pitch hit Molina's glove. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I agree though. I don't despise him in any way, but we can't afford him.
  9. That's a really good board. You just can't have thin skin. It's very different from this board in that, (as someone stated) there is a lot of sarcasm and joking so that it takes awhile to catch on. I enjoy having discussions with those guys.
  10. Epic thread. Lots of ups and downs last night. Great job Randy! I find the commentary about Anderson pretty funny. He's been great this series. A real professional. All you have to do is read a Cardinals IGT and see how much they complain that he's a brewers homer. If everybody hates it, he must be doing it right. Oh yeah, http://thelifeofjamie.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/squirrel.jpg
  11. So when is an appropriate time for that? It really doesn't matter when Prince does that as I prefer the team being loose than playing tight like you are suggesting they should be remember in baseball you can't have fun at all no matter what. You are losing in a playoff game you better not smile because hey you have to be serious 100% of the time there is no fun in baseball! Not the 9th inning of a playoff game. And I'm not suggesting that they "play tight". I'm suggesting that they take the 9th inning of a playoff game when they're down 1 run seriously. But thanks for putting a whole bunch of words in my mouth. For the record, I don't think it's a huge deal. Just a mild annoyance.
  12. ^^^ I like your plan. I've been pimping Barmes since June. I don't necessarily need my ss to be a world-beater offensively, but the position is too important defensively to have a slug like Betancourt out there. Barmes is a great defender with occasional pop (actually similar to Yuni, but with + defense. Also a better (though still bad) OBP). I'm not sold on Gamel, but I don't have any better alternatives. If we hadn't raided our farm system this offseason, I would try to make a run at Andre Ethier, because I believe he'll be available. Given our resources, that's a huge longshot though. Just stick Hart at first if you could get him (or any good left-handed hitting rightfielder).
  13. There's all kinds of positives to having that attitude. I just thought that was a pretty inappropriate time for it.
  14. I agree. Obviously RR didn't. Not that huge of a deal. I know Hart's been cold, but I would still play him every game.
  15. That's just a dumb comment.Care to expound? I don't like my players yukking it up in the dugout in a tight playoff game.
  16. Join him? Darn it. Too slow. Based on Prince yukking it up in the dugout last night, I think it's safe to assume he would join them.
  17. ^^ You're right. It's not an absolute. It sure couldn't have worked out any worse though.
  18. Are there any puppies left? Now Ron's responsible for the extinction of domestic dogs. Just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse.
  19. Why do people keep saying this? Yes. It did cost us the game. Competent CF=Brewers win. Edit to be clear: I'm ripping Roenicke here, not Kotsay. Kotsay's doing what he's told...............by a buffoon.
  20. Yeah, defensively, this is terrifying. Offensively, I'm okay with it. And I'd rather have him hitting 2nd and JHJ 6th than the other way around.
  21. Hmmm. I didn't know Fielder could play SS. How good would a team of eight Lucroys? Or can he play SS too? That's apples to oranges my friend. He'd be better or at least as good as a team of 8 Orlando Cabreras, Ronny Cedenos. Jack Wilsons, Edgar Renterias, Clint Barmeses, Paul Janishes, Craig Counsells, Josh Wilsons, and on and on. How far down is a 96 win team pulled anyway? Every other Brewer team in history been pulled down farther. If you think Betancourt is better than Barmes you're beyond help. Anyway, just say no to Jose Reyes. Too much money. Too many injuries.
  22. Well, I made it to the 23 second mark. Kudos to you that could actually watch that drivel.
