  1. Fair enough. I think they'll clinch Saturday. As I said, I think there's about 98% chance we make the playoffs. Don't forget, Atlanta may not win another game............http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Well, Berkman's no longer an option. That sucks. I guess I'd probably head to spring training with Gamel as the leader, unless I could sign a good left-handed hitting rightfielder and stick Hart at 1st.
  3. Or Marquette Gold. It's not nearly that bad.
  4. I agree with all of this...............it just seems like you've been awfully negative for like a month. I don't quite understand why. It's not like this team has ever really been in a position to choke. 2008 they almost did, but this isn't anywhere close to that situation. 4 1/2 game lead with 6 1/2 to go would be a colossal choke, but I don't see any reason to think it'll happen. There's like a 2% chance IMO.
  5. http://spiderman.sonypictures.com/movies/spiderman3/postergallery/posters/sm3_post1.jpg Edit: Thanks TLB! I'm not too good at teh interwebs.....
  6. Your positivity is overwhelming. The Marlins suck. Nothing about this race will be "interesting" despite all of your sky-is-falling rhetoric.
  7. I bet the Brewers today, so you know who to blame if they lose. Wolf has owned the Cubs this year, let's hope that keeps up.
  8. I really don't think it's that bad. I also like the ballpark logo quite a bit.
  9. I disagree 100%. I would love love love to play them in the NLCS, I mean how fun would that be? I think we beat them more easily than the Phillies too.
  10. I will post Jeffrey Leonard "00" instead. Or Curtis LeskanicYou can post Leskanic's picture when the magic # reaches .331
  11. Well, I requested Martin Van Buren for September 10th, so I was close........
  12. I'm no Brad Pitt, but Andy Etchebarren is without a doubt one of the ugliest people I've ever seen. That unibrow thing you're talking about was historic.
  13. I was thinking the Yankees since you can say the same about them and then add 5 straight pennants from 60-64. It's a laughable comment, hence the http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif.
  14. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif at the Braves being the best franchise in baseball in the late 50s.
  15. Yep. He's been better than I thought he'd be for sure, but his ability to stay on the field has surprised me most. I think it'd take about 2/$14M to sign him, and I wouldn't be in favor of it.
  16. That'd be cool (and should've been the choice to begin with IMO), but with as superstitious as baseball players are, I can't see it happening. It would be cool once. After that, it's a slow, boring song that wouldn't get the crowd fired up at all. Its pretty much the same as the song he has now (a fast song that no one knows so no one gets fired up for it). As for Counsell... all I could see when I saw his outfit... http://www.thegoldencloset.com/merchant/graphics/00000001/S0019d.jpg Yeah, I just listened to it. Hadn't heard it in years. It is a slow, boring song. The one he uses now kinda sucks though. That does look like a pretty good likeness for Craig's blouse.......http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  17. I saw that too. He said he would never be wearing those clothes again so he didn't see a reason to buy anything expensive.I'd like to see a follow-up question about whether or not he sees the reason now...................yikes.
  18. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif You're right, he does......
  19. That'd be cool (and should've been the choice to begin with IMO), but with as superstitious as baseball players are, I can't see it happening.
  20. Ha...you threatened us with Trevor Linden, and there he is..... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I waited far too long to bust out my Trevor Linden pic.I hope to see Greg Adams next week. Am I remembering his # right (8?)?
  21. And that's not even taking into account the fact we would get home field advantage against Atlanta. And the fact that Hanson's hurt and Jurrjens is hurt (and has been pretty bad anyway). I'd much much rather face the Braves even with their lights-out bullpen.
  22. Ha...you threatened us with Trevor Linden, and there he is..... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. He's had 3 good games. Those games have pulled him up to average in his time with the Cardinals. His OBP is .298 in St. Louis and .284 on the season. He's not good. Better than Betancourt? Yes. But still not good. Not to mention what a huge injury risk he is. Not a guy I would've wanted to be counting on in September/October. I applaud Doug for not trading for him. Now, a guy like Barmes on the other hand...............
  24. No it isn't. Not when your baseline is Betancourt. You have Cedano, Furcal might give it another go, Barmes, Santiago, Scutaro. No one spectacular but everyone better than Betancourt. Any of them. Heck I'd take Counsell back before Betancourt. At least he can play defense while he's not hitting. Betancourt is as bad as it gets.
