  1. Hard to believe he was fired from every baseball job he had. I would definitely prefer Carroll over Furcal. In fact I'd prefer just about anyone over Furcal.
  2. From the guy who thinks Betancourt gets ragged on too much. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  3. It never occurred to me to google it. I just thought it was a bf.net thing like woah solvved
  4. Thank God. I never could figure out what the hell that nickname meant, but I was too embarrassed to ask. Now I know. Thank you, sir. Simile: true = !falseas to3TO = !BIP (Balls In Play) Convert Brother! haah....I'm converted, I just never put it all together. The boys at FJM converted me a while ago. I guess I was a just a little slow on the uptake.

  6. I agree with a lot of this. Couple of problems are: Beltran would be a huge risk on a 3 year deal, but I might take that gamble. We can do that either way. Secondly, our defense would be unbelievably terrible against LHP this season. It's pretty tough to make our defense worse, but this would do it.
  7. No, but I can imagine it wasn't good. He just makes no sense for this team. I'd love to have him if our situation was different, but it is what it is.
  8. If I had Bfan title it would be "Official theorist of the removal of Prince". I'd do nearly any trade to get that DH off of this team. Last night was yet another reason he belongs in the AL...I know...............he's very frustrating. You just have to wait 3 more months and you'll get your wish.
  9. This makes the Brewers worse and costs them draft picks. Now, if the AL team were kicking a great prospect to the Brewers as well as the Mets, it'd make more sense. Still wouldn't do it, but your proposal doesn't help us at all. It makes us marginally better defensively (and that's up for debate) and worse offensively. I don't see the point.
  10. Awesome. Thanks for sharing that. Nice to see a kid getting attention for doing something positive.
  11. That a random stretch of 4 starts isn't predictive? Narveson had an ERA around 2 in his first 4 starts. What does that tell you? I think it tells something. The guy isn't that good..........never has been. He's been pretty pedestrian in the minors. His minor league track record indicates an average MLB pitcher at best. The Brewers offense has failed against him.
  12. Just sick of hearing the company line by our announcers. I could cut them more slack and give more credit to the opposing team if I wasn't witnessing one of the worst road teams in all of baseball. This is getting old...everyone is a Cy Young against our lineup when we're on the road. Well, Collmenter's last start was six shutout innings in Milwaukee. He's pitching really good and seems to have the Brewers number. He pitched great again tonight. I'm not trying to give the offense a pass, because they looked really flat...but Collmenter was great tonight. Just because it sounds like a company line doesn't mean it's not true. And his era was 7+ in his 4 previous starts to the 2 vs. us. What does that tell you?
  13. I lived and died with that team from the moment they got into the playoffs until they brought home ring number eleven. Do I watch every game? No. But do I check the box score every single day to see where they're at? Also, no. I know they'll do what it takes to get the job done, and they don't need me breathing down their necks. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  14. Here's what happens next: broken elbow, torn ligament, Pujols magically comes back four days later and hits three home runs in five games, taking the time to blog about each one while walking to first base, then criticizes an opposing hitter for pointing at the fans after a walkoff home run. And he'd still have people saying what a great guy he is....... This kind of stuff always brings to mind that Cards hate vs Reds hate thread. Can there really be any question? The Cardinals make me sick.
  15. He's just such a d-bag. I'd love to see Chapman drill him in the elbow at about 105 mph.
  16. I think adam just meant that Doug should've known they were terrible defensively, which he should've. McGehee being putrid on offense is a surprise, but nothing about Betancourt's performance this year should surprise anyone. I know it's beating a dead horse, but Taylor Green should be playing 3b everyday. Right now. At least until he proves he's as bad as McGehee. Seriously, what do we have to lose? It'd be very hard for Green to be as bad as McGehee, and almost unimaginable that he'd be worse.
  17. that is awfully optimistic. after tonight, anything better than 1-10 seems like gravy. I'll take coming home with a record above .500 at this point. When the Twins were 20 games under with M&M on the DL, and the Brewers got to 9-10 games above .500, never thought i'd have see the Twins with a better record than the crew this season. Now, i can almost guarantee it. If Doug doesn't replace Yuni and Casey by July 31st... he shouldn't be our GM next year. This is pathetic Wow. Step off the ledge. And I'd bet any amount of money that the Twins won't have a better record than the Brewers at any point this year.
  18. First thing I thought of.
  19. The AL's pitching is vastly superior. Not even close IMO. I expect an AL blowout.
  20. Really needs to walk more. And his splits are really weird. At least this year. Probably a sample size issue. I'll be eager to see how he hits at AA next year. That's the big test.
  21. I think it's 43 days of service time for the minimum pension, isn't it? I thought one day of service time qualified you for medical / healthcare benefits. I could be wrong, who knows. Either way your point is valid. Nice day for him.I'm pretty sure you're right. He gets the healthcare benefits, but no pension yet. Also, the per diem is probably more than he makes in a week at Huntsville, so that's nice.
  22. I am in absolute shock that anyone here thinks Cordero intentionally hit Rickie. That's JSOnline board stuff. You guys are better than that.
  23. He gave you the correct explanation. You make him leave the lefty who's struggling in the game. That was the right move. The batter didn't matter too much to me, although Gamel was the better option. The point was to make a struggling pitcher stay in the game. It's not a horrible vs. great choice, I agree, but to leave Gamel in was the logical choice IMO.
