  1. There were so many guys that went through El Paso that put up monster numbers. Glenn Braggs, Joey Meyer, Billy Jo, all went through the same year. Glenn Braggs..... that dude was freakin' ripped. He should have/could have put up some good power numbers. I remember after he left MLB he went over to Japan and had a couple of big power seasons. Ugh. So many disappointments. I'll never forget how shocked I was that Glenn Braggs was African-American. Hilarious how the world has changed in 30 years.
  2. Has Yelich spoken publicly since the trade? I'd be curious to hear his thoughts. Mightve missed it.
  3. Ok. I don't think it's remotely obvious. I think they underpaid for Yelich and possibly by a lot. Cain I think was market value for 3 or 4 years, but I think the 5th year hurts. What I know for sure is that no one knows and no one will know for at least 3 years.
  4. Saying anything is definite is just dumb. You sound ridiculous. But I'll leave you to it.
  5. Well, you're nothing if not predictable. I'm not laughing at your opinion, just that I would've bet my life you were going to say it. To make any grand proclamations about getting taken to the cleaners is really, really silly. We'll see.
  6. I'm more confident than ever that we gave up too much now. My first thought too, but opposite.
  7. I'm pretty thrilled with this. I'm really happy we gave up no pitching of note. Yamamoto has 4th starter potential, but he's a long way from reaching it. Despite my avatar, the more I think about Brinson the less I like him. I'm really worried about his ability to stay healthy, or lack thereof. Diaz has a chance to be a good player, but I think he's pretty clearly our 2nd best 2b prospect. He could've been used as a trade chip later, but I won't lose any sleep over losing him. Harrison has the highest ceiling, and when I first heard Brinson, Diaz and 2 others, I was completely thrilled. When i heard Harrison's name I was less so. It scares me to give him up. I think he's unlikely to hit his ceiling, but his ceiling is super-high. Yelich is going to be great here. His power numbers are going to skyrocket in my opinion and hopefully having less ground to cover in center will pull him up to average in cf [unless Cain is incoming]. He is exactly what I feel this team needed in a 2/3 hitter. High OBP, good power and good wheels. And left handed on top of it. He is the perfect offensive addition and he's ours for 5 years pretty cheap. I can certainly understand why some people dislike this deal, but I feel like they'll be over it by Memorial Day. He's going to be a joy to watch
