  1. Seems like a pretty bad trade for Seattle. Walker has potential to be a #2 starter. As mentioned though, I'm not sure he's mentally tough enough to pitch in Arizona.
  2. 2/14 is fine for a contending team. Seems fair. I guess I wouldn't really have cared if we had signed him. It's a short, low-money contract.
  3. If Quintana is traded, it will be for a heck of a lot more than Bickford/Hader/Santana type prospects. He's got a great contract and is a damn good pitcher. I would expect it to be a couple top 50 type prospects and more. You do know Hader is #33 and Bickford is #53 currently according to MLB? And Santana preseason 2015 was #73? And already playing on the ML team helping it? This is why I can't take offering up Santana in trade. Brinson has nothing approaching Santana's Ceiling. In the hypothetical, would you trade Brinson, Hader, and Bickford for Quintana? I didn't know that, but I don't really see Bickford as that level of 'elite' prospect. Hader, sure. I also think Brinson's ceiling is quite a bit higher than Santana's, but that's just my opinion, others may disagree. I'm guessing you do. Would I make that deal if the Brewers were on the verge of being very good for a few years? Easily. Quintana is worth that.
  4. 1. Sign Turner 2. Sign Jensen 3. Throw the entire farm system at the White Sox for Sale and Quintana and see if they bite. Pretty much. And that still wouldn't make the playoffs most likely.

  6. What he said. Carlos Quintana is a very, very good pitcher. He will command more than that offer.
  7. Seems like the logical move. Trade Gennett for whatever you can get. Won't be much because he isn't any good, but a flyer would be fine. The fact that we have little to no left handed batters us completely irrelevant. We're going to be terrible anyway, so who cares?
  8. So, this Bumgarner guy is pretty good. C'mon boys, steal one in Chicago, have Bumgarner waiting in game 3 and eliminate the Cubs! You can do it! I have faith!
  9. Toronto fans are the absolute worst. God I hope they lose, and I hope it's in a very painful fashion. They throw crap on the field every October.
  10. Yeah, forgot Matthews. Always do for some reason.
  11. Our best starter who hasn't been shut down? Sounds like the right choice to me. The point is what good is making the playoffs if Zach Davies is your best starter?
  12. He stays healthy he could get 3,000. How hilarious would it be to see all the Hall of Famers touching his head when he's up on stage giving his speech. I realize the post I'm quoting is 2 years old, but I was talking to a buddy about this recently. Is he the 2nd best third baseman ever? I'm pretty sure he is.
  13. Giants Nationals Indians Rangers Giants over the Indians
  14. My first thought was ok we made the wild card game, now who's pitching? Zach Davies?
  15. Agree with all that, and it also shows why getting Puig back in a Braun deal doesn't help that natural progression you outlined above. Could Puig be a flip candidate? Sure. But I don't want him to get in the way of the OF rebuild which is one area of the team that is actually on track. Amen to both quoted posts. I wouldn't take Puig for free personally. Just too much potential trouble. I don't want him anywhere near these young guys.
  16. Yeah, he's been really good. My nephew lives in Arlington and he can't stop raving about how great Luc has been. In pretty much every way. Jeffress on the other hand....
  17. No thanks to an average player owed $17MM for the next 2 years, who also happens to be a grade A jag. The money isn't a huge deal, but the jaggery is. He also plays a position where we have some guys that need to play.
  18. Max Schlock is the best name involved here.
  19. I haven't seen him pitch at all other than highlights, but if he turns out like Zambrano, sign me up. Minus the crazy of course.
  20. Clancyphile ftw. Seriously though, good for Suter. Give him a shot.
