  2. Would calling him "Chief Wahpepah" be offensive? If not, I think he's got a nickname http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif . ~Bill
  3. Interesting... MLB.com doesn't have anything about him, just the vitals: Cowley County CC 6'4", 185 07-17-1984 ~Bill
  4. I'm watching Yovani Gallardo's scouting video and he looks good... better than Rogers, even http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif . Reminds me a little of Wilhelmson. He's got a bit of a funky "toe tap" in his windup but he's got a high leg kick and a very fluid delivery and extended follow-through. I would still rather have chosen Cordier, Jaramillo, or Buckner (or Symanzski), but them's the breaks. ~Bill
  5. Jaramillo just went to the Phillies. Cordier just went the next pick to the KC Royals. ~Bill
  6. Why, oh why, didn't they take Billy Buckner? ~Bill
  7. Well, it's working again. I'm stoked. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ~Bill
  8. Hmmm... My MLB radio feed has been the only thing that's worked consistently so far today. I'm not getting any glitches. Well, I keep getting buffering .... still buffering ... and more buffering ... have you buffered lately? LOL. I'll try again. Thanks, guys. ~Bill
  9. I haven't been able to get MLB.com's coverage to load, even from a Windows PC (http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ), for the last hour. Brewerfan.net has been annihilated. Baseball America's site is epicly slow. I think there's more interest in the draft than "insider" folks admit. ~Bill
  10. Is the site down? I'm getting a proxy error. We're getting blasted http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif . ~Bill
  11. Nice to see Phil Nevin enjoyed the home run he hit... I didn't. And I agree, Robert, about Mr. Durrington. Even Brady Clark is a superior option, IMO, and that's saying something. But when Junior Spivey and Ben Grieve are both available, they need to be numbers 1a and 1b off the bench (and/or Kieschnick depending on the situation, like today). Nedley is always concerned with "saving" his players for later, but later never comes. I hope he starts learning that pretty quick, 'cause he's struggled with it the entirety of his short managerial career. Kieschnick needs to go home and be with his wife. I'm sure this isn't an easy day for him, and I wouldn't fault him if his concentration just isn't where it normally is. With so many relief pitchers and an off-day tomorrow, I wish they could have avoided using the father-to-be. ~Bill
  12. Nice to see Hall, Liefer, and Overbay coming together... it's good when teammates enjoy each other's company enough to have little get togethers like that. Next time I would prefer that they hold their meetings *not* during the game, but maybe that's asking for too much. Nice to see Adam Eaton with a stolen base, too. Pitchers don't get enough steals, so I'm glad Davis and Moeller are being charitable. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif ~Bill
  13. How the heck do you hit a homer to centerfield at Petco? I guess that's how. ~Bill
  14. How the heck do you hit a homer to centerfield at Petco? Nevin just *killed* that ball and it only got to the wall. Unbelievable. This inning sucks. ~Bill
  15. Random thought: With the addition of Liefer, we could start a lineup of 6 left-handed hitters. The only exceptions are: C - Moeller/Bennett 2B - Ginter/Spivey Otherwise, we could start: LF - Jenkins CF - Podsednik RF - Grieve 3B - Liefer SS - Counsell 1B - Overbay That's pretty weird. And on an unrelated note, I don't know what to make of this "2 runs in the first inning" thing. It's been a while. ~Bill
  16. I suppose I shouldn't be so hard on Grieve, after all he is our second leading hitter...at .257....Yikes. In his last 4 games(see I can select a sample to prove my point too) he is 1 for 10. That is what I meant by STARTING to show his true colors. Maybe he should lead off because he does walk alot. In the end, his slow bat and lousy defense will convince you that he is NOT an everyday player. He hit .306, .444. .531, .975 in the month of May. In total, he has hit .257, .388, .438, .826. He has had (ahem) two bad games in a row. So his "true colors" are those two games, and not the previous two months of the season. Right. ~Bill

  18. You know, I've been watching this whole game and I just now realized that we're facing Ismael Valdes, NOT Tim Hudson. Was anyone else aware of this? I must have missed it somehow... I mean, he's only been out there for a few seconds at a time and he's only thrown about 80 pitches. The Padres really slipped that one by me. ~Bill
  19. The pissed off Matt Kinney is way better than the happy Matt Kinney. I have no idea what triggered the change of attitude on the mound, but I like it. Now, if only we could... ahem... score? ~Bill
  20. Ben Grieve is starting to show his true colors. Best thing for him to do is not swing, at least then he has a chance to get on. Ben Grieve over the last seven days (6 games): .333 AVG, .429 OBA, .611 SLG, 1.040 OPS If those are his true colors, why are you complaining? ~Bill
  21. Get yer arses on the live chat. I'm disabled... I have a disease called Macintosh that precludes me from joining the other kids in the chat room. Pity me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ~Bill
  22. Anybody else getting a kick out of Mike Everitt's strike call? It's like an old, fat, white guy doing a karate chop and grunting. How cool is that? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ~Bill
  23. Someone needs to inform Nedley that Gary Bennett SUCKS and Chad Moeller is, in fact, available to play catcher. I'm sure this little duck snort base hit will justify another 10 or 15 utterly useless plate appearances for good old "Benny." Wes Obermueller is a better hitter than Gary Bennett, and that isn't an exaggeration. ~Bill
  24. Ginter on the pine, too, after last night's 0hfer. Nice to see Billy Hall finally make appearance, though. ~Bill
