  1. 06/02/2004 - Brewers (Hendrickson) at Dodgers (Jackson) The debut of Lil' Ben is finally here. Tonight's lineups are brought to you by The Future , 'cause we're getting a glimpse of it tonight. MILWAUKEE LOS ANGELES AVG HR RBI AVG HR RBI Scott Podsednik CF .263 6 16 Dave Roberts LF .255 1 9 Craig Counsell SS .245 1 8 Cesar Izturis SS .308 2 18 Ben Grieve RF .273 4 13 Milton Bradley CF .270 7 22 Geoff Jenkins LF .261 5 28 Shawn Green 1B .238 7 24 Lyle Overbay 1B .333 6 40 Paul Lo Duca C .358 1 18 Junior Spivey 2B .256 3 18 Adrian Beltre 3B .308 12 36 Keith Ginter 3B .259 7 16 Juan Encarnacion RF .228 7 27 Gary Bennett C .229 1 6 Alex Cora 2B .294 3 13 Ben Hendrickson RHP .000 0 0 Edwin Jackson RHP .000 0 0 (NO RECORD) (NO RECORD) ~Bill
  2. Thanks for the first person info, HD BP! ~Bill
  3. Looking forward to seeing Ben Hendrickson tomorrow. Understatement of the year. You gotta modify that "Bennett!!!" headline, Toby... just "Ben!!!" will do nicely. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ~Bill
  4. Edit: Is anyone else reminded of a bad guy from some anime when they hear the Dodgers' PA guy? LOL... yeah... that's great. It sounds like he's talking with his mouthful, underwater. Weird. ~Bill
  5. Clark came in when Bennett relieved Davis. It was a double-switch. Kieschnick is batting third in the order, where Grieve originally hit. Not that our illustrious broadcast crew would know that, or anything. ~Bill
  6. Bill and Daron totally missed the double-switch when Bennett came into the game to pitch and Clark went to right. What's up with that? Pay attention to the game, gentlemen. ~Bill
  7. It's crazy how well the Brewers position their defenders. You gotta love the fusion of technology and scouting. C'mon, toolshed. ~Bill
  8. Here's the AP's take on the pre-sixth inning fun: Kinda funny... just the facts, 'mam. ~Bill
  9. Bennett for a second inning? Hmm. You'd think that if a team had 13 pitchers they could find someone to bridge the gap between the 7th and 9th innings. I think Nedley's trying to save everyone for another Johnny Wholestaff start tomorrow. That whipper snapper Ben Hendrickson just isn't gritty enough to go out there and battle yet. Hopefully not, though, and he just thinks Bennett is throwing well. ~Bill
  10. So who gets the call in the eighth? Vizco? Adams? Errr... I meant Bennett again. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ~Bill
  11. I hope Junior brought a lot of bats on this trip. Jeez... that's two already tonight. ~Bill
  12. So who gets the call in the eighth? Vizco? Adams? ~Bill
  13. 4 RUNS!!!!! Go offense. This "scoring runs" thing is fun. ~Bill
  14. 125 pitches for Weaver? A little extreme, no? You gotta (kind of) feel bad for him. Kind of. ~Bill
  15. Clutch. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif You know that was the baseball gods getting back at LA for Bradley's outburst. ~Bill
  16. No, but I had implied oral consent. That sounds dirty... this is a family site, Brian! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Po = SB x 2, ~Bill
  17. Doug Davis: 6 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 3 K His ERA is 3.13. Who da' man? He da' man. ~Bill
  18. I think the debate about the value of Bradley is over. I was one of the folks that defended Bradley, but no more. I've seen him go nuts before, but only on highlights. He seemed genuinely disturbed tonight... you could almost see the anger building for a couple innings until he finally exploded. It sounds stupid to say that he's a threat to the welfare of the other players and umpires, but he is. What if he would have thrown that ball at the umpire instead of over him? Or what if he wasn't restrained by Tracy? He looked like he was going to physically assault the umpire. Talk about a scary, scary man. No thank you. ~Bill
  19. That was crazy. Wow. I don't know what to say. Milton has some anger management issues... he's going to off someone one of these days. Ug-ly. ~Bill
  20. Nintendo seems to have his stroke back. Good to see. ~Bill
  21. Double D is dealing tonight. Gotta respect his grittiness and his willingness to battle despite the tough assignment. Anybody want to guess the number of times Nedley will use the word "battle*" when describing DD after the game? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif 'At a boy, Doug! ~bill
  22. Doug's really being a gritty battler out there tonight. If he can get through a couple more innings, I think everyone will be very happy with his performance. That "warning" was ridiculous. If it ends up affecting the game, Terry Craft should be repremanded. Even if it doesn't affect the game, for that matter. ~Bill
  23. Dear Brewers Offense, I tried you write you, but my letter was returned as undeliverable - apparently you can't be located. Please let me know where you are and when I can expect you to return. Thank you, ~Bill
  24. Is there any batter who chokes more than Chad Moeller? He never seems to get a big hit when you need it. I think that's a disconnect between perception and reality. The reason Chad seems to "choke" is probably because he just isn't hitting well. He's actually been slightly better in "clutch" situations. Situation AVG OBA SLG OPS ---------------------------------------------- Runners On .209 .286 .372 .658 Scoring Position .241 .324 .379 .703 Scoring Posn, 2 Out .400 .471 .600 1.071 Close And Late .261 .346 .348 .694 ---------------------------------------------- Overall .225 .298 .353 .651 ~Bill
