  1. YTTV likely losing Disney 12/17. That's right, that includes ESPN. NatGeo, possibly local ABC, and others. Got me thinking though, when do I ever watch ESPN? Used to be a must-have, but these days not so sure.
  2. Hahaha. I've been to the "office" in Appleton. First, you wait 30-45 minutes. Finally get to talk to someone who gives you a blank stare, regardless of how simple your need may be. They go talk to someone, who then talks to someone else, and an hour later 50% chance you get a clear answer. Not necessarily resolved, but an answer. Here's how that conversation would go. I'm here to cancel. Cool, where's your box?
  3. If you don't use YTTV, what do you use for content? Firestick is just a hardware device.
  4. Palermo's "Primo Thin" is my go-to these days. Even thinner than Jacks. It is more expensive, but I don't eat a ton of frozen pizzas so it's worth it.
  5. And it can easily be shared among 5 people, so an even bigger savings for those who are able to share.
  6. I'm with you. Could I save money by constantly switching services to chase the lowest price? Sure. But I'm fine paying the extra for the convenience of not having to do that. Not to mention I have grandparents that come to my house to watch my kids. My mother in law needs me to show her how to turn the TV on whenever she's here. I'm not going to have to explain to her every couple weeks how the new streaming service works. I get the part about parents. Mine are 90 and I would never try to to introduce a streaming service. That said, you guys act like downloading the YouTube TV app is like programming the space shuttle or something. Do you ever change cell service or shup auto/home insurance? Financial advisor? Shop for a car? I mean using a streaming app is easier by far than just about anything else you do in your life. I actually take it one step further. I constantly download an app for a 7 or 30 day trial. Binge what I want, cancel. Or keep one for a couple months, like I did with hbo max. Takes 30 seconds.
  7. I stopped watching around...season 4 or 5ish when one of the main characters was killed off by the dude with the baseball bat. It seemed like it started to run its course for me, but I could see the appeal. The wife kept watching it and I bought her 3 huge Walking Dead comics for Christmas one year. Pretty sure she has never opened them up. ha. That's about when I stopped. A never ending cycle of finding a new community, battling with neighboring communities. Rinse, repeat.
  8. Nor the variety of sausage, cheese, soda, or snack foods.
  9. I'm well aware, but for anyone looking to make a change now, what MAY happen in 2023 doesn't really come into play. I may change providers 2 or 3 times by then.
  10. Good plan, except you can't watch Brewers games on mlbtv, in market that is.
  11. Two movies with 8 in the title? Next up, Super 8? Hateful 8?
  12. Chestnut Man on Netflix is really good. Danish murder/mystery, and there are subtitles if that bothers you. I've mentioned it before but I stumbled on this Nordic murder/mystery genre early on in covid times, there's a bunch of really good ones.
  13. Of course they don't care about you, but the solution is staring you in the face. Anyone who has more than one ISP/cable provider option, just change every year and always have new customer pricing. Bit of a pain, sure, but it's not that big of a deal. Worth it to always pay half the price.
  14. First thing as with any TV, update firmware to make sure you have most current version. Since Bally is so new, that may be why it's not showing up. You shouldn't need to buy another device. If you still don't see it, you have to search for the app- I had to do that on one of my TVs. But I have 2 smart TVs, another with a Firestick, and a fourth with Roku- I can get the Bally app on all of them.
  15. And The Wire. Which means its all down hill when you're done with BCS, so slow down! There is still OZ and NYPD Blue to watch, can't go wrong with either of those gems... Another great show: Justified! I loved Justified a lot more than I thought I would. Ditto for The Americans and Ozark.

  17. Yea, one you watch The Wire and BB you become a TV snob. I will never watch anything on network TV, even the "cable" channels way more miss than hit. It will be interesting come fall when I imagine a ton of Netflix, Prime, etc. series will have new seasons. Until then, I'll continue down the Euro police drama genre.
  18. +1 BTW, in the middle of BB rewatch with my wife, since she never saw it.
  19. Let's talk Tombstone. Have they changed it? That's all we got at home growing up, my parents still get them. Out of nostalgia I've tried them a couple times recently. That is the most god awful crust ever. Taste, mouth feel, the consistency..just horrible. Maybe I didn't know the difference at 15 or whatever, but I swear they've changed it,
  20. Speaking of UK tv series, The Fall is really good, set in Northern Ireland. Then there's a while genre of European crime dramas from Iceland, Norway, Finland....Italy that range from good to outstanding. Trapped is a good example, but we've seen 6 or 7 series during the past year, highly recommend. Yes, there are subtitles, but got used to that very quickly actually. They're cool because where they're set, actors all from in-country, and just a different feel than Holltwood made stuff. No, it's not artsy tv, maybe sounds that way. Just really good crime drama.
  21. Chicago deep dish pizza isn't really even pizza. It's good once every couple years though.
  22. Yea, I'm a thin crust, Milwaukee style pizza kind of guy. Norhing else is close, except Rockys. I don't know what it is, the doughy crust, love the sauce. Woyld have it more often if ir didn't have 197,000 calories in a super slice.
  23. A lot of people don't like season 2, fwiw. Mostly due to one of the characters. Just a heads-up, hang in there just in case you don't love season 2 quite as much. It took a whopping half an episode to figure out who you were referring to.... Ha, yea it's pretty obvious. Too bad, because the theme of the season is as strong as the other seasons. Still better than 95% of anything else on TV. P.S.. You think you hate that character now, it gets worse.

  25. I realllly wanted to like The Expanse. 4k is stunning, and I'm always up for a good sci-fi series. But I got through 2 episodes, and I just couldn't continue. Acting/ casting was just too corny, they couldn't hold up to the writing, which seems like a really interesting story. Hard to explain, almost like sci-fi made for network tv or something.
