  1. Watch them trade him for Ben Simmons.
  2. Of course they don't care about you, but the solution is staring you in the face. Anyone who has more than one ISP/cable provider option, just change every year and always have new customer pricing. Bit of a pain, sure, but it's not that big of a deal. Worth it to always pay half the price.
  3. We're not getting two elite bats. Maybe one if we trade some combo of Woody, Hader, Hauser, etc. Replace Haines, fine, but all that does is make people feel better. The only other variable is the manager. I've always been a CC supporter, still am. Of course there's a risk with replacing a good manager. There's also a risk of ever getting a ring with the current manager. The Brewers will never have the best team on paper. They will need the perfect storm in the playoffs, and that's when the right manager at the right time can make a difference. Playing it safe is the easiest thing to do. Maybe it's even the right thing to do. I'm just saying why would you not even consider it? MM is a good football coach, but the Packers moved on from him. People were ready to move on from Bud if the Bucks exited the playoffs early again last year. Being good doesn't always mean you're the right guy at the right time.
  4. Initial reactions. Giannis looks even better. Carries himself like he knows he's the man, not trying to prove he's the man. Just controlled dominance. This roater is incredibly deep when healthy, even the two-way players are serviceable. That will help later, plenty of trade bait when they target a specific player they want for the post season.
  5. Just add $40MM for two hitters. That's my favorite part. What two hitters? Who? You really think bumping team salary 40% is realistic?
  6. lol what. He's arguably the best manager in MLB. It's impossible to prove who the best manager is, or even who the great ones are. Great or not, sometimes a change at the top is the shock to the system that gets you over the top. That said, I'm not advocating they move on from CC. I would be fine with it. Teams and fans get wrapped up in whether a manager deserves to be fired. Deserve has nothing to do with it.
  7. Said everyone after his 2020 season. There is no deal to be had. Even if there was, expecting him to return to a 1.5 WAR player is a better move than trading him and coughing up $100MM.
  8. I know all about that. My wife's a teacher and we have her plan. Decent premium, but a 3,000 deductable. I blew mine away lately. I had an "accident" almost 6 weeks ago and flash-burned both arms and forearms. 2nd degree burns all over. Put my big payment on an easy payment plan out of my HSA and now I'm free to go to the hospital as much as I want. The urologist wanted to to an internal scan on my bladder, so I don't have to put that off now. So you do have an HSA and your wife's employer contributes? That seems to be the piece some people miss when lamenting a high deductible. In almost all occasiins HSA/ HDP is best. If you need it, HSA covers expenses under the deductible, if not HSA can be used as a medical 401k.
  9. Yeah it’s obviously not his fault the offense stunk but at this point it’s time to move on and get a new voice in here. Who the heck knows if it helps but you might as well try something different. Not CC fault either, but I would be fine if they moved on with a new manager. That's pro sports, sometimes you just need to shake things up.
  10. I'm just not that upset, it was clear going into October this team wasn't going to win a ring. And no, it's not because they took the foot off the gas after clinching. They were struggling before that. They were true contenders for a large stretch of the season, maybe even favorites at their best. They weren't that team in September and October.
  11. I won't try to stop you and others from believing that. I will only ask this. Do you really believe the best hitting coach in MLB would have made Yelich and Hiura the 2019 versions of themselves. He would have made Garcia anything other than he's been his whole career? He would make Cain 5 years younger and healthy? Sorry, I just think you massively overestimate the results a hitting coach can control. Want him fired? Fine, I don't care either way.
  12. Bottom line, this team was a true contender for a large span of the season. Even the favorite at their peak. They were not that team in October, and that's the way sports work. And that downturn happened before they shifted to neutral after clinching. It wasn't just the hitting either. Woodruff and Peralta were no longer dominant. Houser gives up 2 bombs in the series, Hader the game winner. They were never going to win the WS without all of Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, and Hader being dominant.
  13. You're a baseball coach? And you think Peralta had a 50/50 chance to score a run on a sacrifice bunt? Wow. Beyond that, why would you possibly want to try bunting the pitcher with one out in that situation. Not cool, obviously you're not a disciple of Coach Cooper.
  14. Yea, I'm not going to deny reality. You need to score more than zero runs to win a game. That said, the Big 3 have not been dominant down the stretch. It's been Burnes, and that's it. Brewers formula could have worked with three dominating starters, winning the best of 5/7 winning enough games 1-0 or 2-1 . For example, if Woody had a clean sheet going int the 8th or 9th, that game may have played out differently. It's not fair to expect that from him, or anyone, but realistically that was/is the only way they win any of these playoff series Just flat-out dominant pitching.
  15. Jordan Nwora wakes up in the morning and learns he scored another 14 points in his sleep.
  16. Yet W is all that matters. That's the NFL these days, as Packer fans we think we're tye only ones. But here we are, 4-1. Plenty of time to clean things up, get players back, and contend. I'm actually glad they're not hitting on all cylinders yet, way too long to go to sustain that.
  17. I'm glad some posters here are not GM for this team. We'll leave that job to Rodgers. Or Head Coaches. Like guy who said "sneak it, not even a question."
  18. Yea. 2-0 in the 3rd, turn it off, it's over. Man I forgot how bad the hot takes were in the IGT.
  19. I had softball and badminton. Ha. I do think college should focus more on core classes, but I cant it wasnt nice to have an easy 2 or 3 credit course when I did 18 credits. For me, college was a great opportunity to grow myself and learn to be independent. I met people that were much different than myself and I quickly learned what was and wasnt acceptable to say and do around others. I dont think I necessarily became smarter, but I did learn a lot. If that makes sense? I get that, but is that due ti college itself or just leaving home? As I said earlier if you go to the military, tech school, or directly into the workforce you're just as likely to learn independence and meet others not like yourself. Probably moreso.
  20. I'm pretty comfortable with CC, the coaching staff, Stearns, scouting dept, and the entire analytics dept. determining the lineup as opposed to some random dude on BF.net.
