  1. I should give him my Jeff Suppan Bobble. I would lose the comedic value of having it on my desk, but worth it if it serves as a constant reminder for him. (And I still have the box, so it wouldn't look like a re-gift.)
  2. Forget Kirk. How about Broxton for Tyler Alexander and Funkhauser? Don't tell me you don't want a Funkhauser on the roster?!?!
  3. Dearest Patrick: I agree, but I'm old too. There was something special about that common bond we all had the next day after a popular show was on. Now, only sporting events can capture that. Then again, it's nice to watch an entire season of some show over a weekend, so although I miss the "good old days" I'm as guilty as anyone in taking advantage of the new technology. Kind Regards, FV Brewerfan
  4. Yea, agree simple is better- especially the front of a tshirt. If anything, you could load up the back with more graphics, that works when done right.
  5. Well, I think any player that isn't a stud better learn to play as many positions as possible. Cordell, yea, if he can play corner OF and 1B it would help his cause. You just never know if a guy's bat will be better than projected. And you don't know if/when injuries, trades, poor performance happen and there's Cordell with exactly what you need at the time. They're never going to have 8 All Stars in the line-up, so it's nice to have guys like Perez, Thames, potentially Corder that can contribute.
  6. Really quick snap and QB sneak. Teams are so used to Rodgers getting up to the line, going through audibles, trying to draw you offsides with hard count, etc. I still think it was a horrible decision to go for it on your own side of the field.
  7. Shouldn't be an excuse, as they put up almost all their passing yards AFTER Jordy was injured. One game, but it shows they can move the ball and score without him. Key is, hopefully no more injuries to the WR/TE position. Because you lose Cobb and/or Cook again for example, that is tough.
  8. I like spreading it around. Rip can pound the ball too, just played hurt today. Also. Montgomery is a lot tougher runner than he's given credit for. I think you just go with the hot hand vs Dallas. Michael is not very patient. Each back has plusses and minuses. Just nice having options there, when there weren't any a few weeks ago.
  9. Yea, but I forgot about that drop. Now I know what he's talking about!
  10. It was 4th and 1, not 4th and 4. Cook didn't drop a pass, but the Packers scored last two possessions of the half, so if anyone did have a drop, no effect on the game. Are you talking about ghetto Giants game?
  11. Exactly. How competitive they will be in 2018 is nothing but flat-out guessing when the 2017 season hasn't even started yet.
  12. Payroll is still very low. They have plenty to spend on scouts if they want them. Even if they signed 10 more Milones.
  13. Agree 100%. SC was on at 10:00 every night and for a half hour. It was can't miss TV. Now it's an hour of fluff and starts at different times, delayed by games ending late, etc. Plus it was the same anchors. Same with NFL Prime Time, that show was awesome. OK, end of my old man rant.
  14. Are you saying the Brewers have had this concept, or the contributors of this site? I don't think it's true for either, just trying to see where you're coming from.
  15. I'm done with the HR derby anyhow, so it doesn't matter to me. I actually love Berman when he does the NFL, never really like hum for MLB or anything else. In fact, I long for the days of NFL Prime Time when they went through every game on Sunday with that great music during the highlights. Even loved Berman's schtick with the nicknames (Bad Moon Rison.) Honestly, I have a feeling even he was done long ago with the back back back thing. It's like he knew that was his signature and had to do it.
  16. No, doesn't convince me for 2017/2018. Guerra, I just trust a guy in his 30s who came out of nowhere to keep it up for two more seasons. And as Adam said, no sign of getting DeLeon back in a Braun trade. So the rotation that's supposed to compete in the playoffs is made up of Davies, 2 or 3 rookies (or near rookies), and a hopeful breakout of Nelson or Peralta. Yea, I'm not clearing my schedule for the playoffs in 2017 or 2018.
  17. No it's not. Unless you can convince me they will somehow have a rotation that can compete in 1 or 2 years. Thames is a place holder, because Mark A does not want to see a 50 win season. He wants to field a team that can at least be decent, and whether I agree with that or not, I get why he feels that way. I don't believe Thames will be a part of the next truly competitive team, so yea I'm open to flipping him for the right prospect/s. He's also holding up a potential logjam in the OF, where ideally Braun or Santana move to 1B within the next couple years.
  18. You were? By whom? In which thread? Not sure if I did, but I will now. .810 FLOOR is delusional. As is .865 PROJECTION. Those words have meaning. I mean this is all speculation, but both of those phrases seem overly optimistic. 30 players achieved .865 last year, so basically one per team. Seems he would have been offered bigger deals by more teams if that number was valid.
  19. Through the underwear, through the zipper... No thanks. It's all pipes, what's the difference!?!?!
  20. That's not a shot he's confident in yet, certainly not at the end of a game. Catch and shoot are the 3s he makes. Instead, he prefers to step back 5 feet in one step and drain a fade away jumper to win games! But don't worry, matter of time before he can hit 3s on his own, or anything else at all he wants to do on the basketball court.
  21. I don't know, bit of a reach to hope to flip a Storen for a really good prospect. A big reason why the Brewers were able to get quality back for Jeffress, Smith, and Thornburg was the several years of control that came with these young, cheap late inning guys. Hey, I have no problem with this deal but I could take it or leave it. And I would be shocked if they don't add another BP arm before the season starts.
  22. The TGI Friday's at Miller Park had (and may still have) Yogi Berra quotes all over, and at one point had a Cubs sign hanging up on their wall. Yogi Berra is looked at as a baseball icon, but c'mon, and the Cubs sign?! How any of that was approved is beyond me. Yogi Berra, no problem. But a Cubs sign?? Yea, that needs to come down if it hasn't already. I've been in there enough and never noticed it, so hopefully that has been destroyed...errrrr corrected.
  23. Actually, I don't know the Packers will score 21-28. It will be cold, we don't know about the wind yet. If it's windy, no way is 21-28 a given. Also, pretty sure the Giants know Beckham will get a lot of attention, and they have been game planning that and winning most of the year. I don't think playing at Lambeau actually helps them. Biggest strength by far for this team is AR throwing the ball all over the yard. Bad weather equalizes that to some extent. Special Teams will be huge.
  24. It wouldn't be if it was played at Applebees or something. But this is supposed to be a Brewers bar. Imagine what would happen if Stadium View in GB played the 85 Bears theme song "Super Bowl Shuffle." Yea, that wouldn't end well.
  25. I won't disagree with any of that. However, I'm thrilled that Stearns could care less about any of that. His job is to rebuild this team the right way, and that could take 2 more years or 5. If some Brewer fans become Cubs fans, they're bandwagon fans who will be back when the Brewers are winning again. Will some become Cubs fans permanently? I guess, but good riddance. Not to mention some Cubs "fans" will become Brewers fans when the tables turn. It does work both ways.
