  1. NLDS 2011 Game 5 (far and away) The Ryan Braun walk grand slam walk off vs. Pitt in 2008 The 5 home runs in one inning against against the Reds in 2006
  2. Krod was always doing things with smoke and mirrors since he signed with the Mets. I understand what you're saying about trading a guy whose value is high, but I don't think the Krod comparison is a good one. Aram on the other hand has had an OPS well over .800 for 9 out of the last 10 years. Even when you factor in 2010 (which is an obvious outlier) he is a consistent middle of the order bat. $10 million a year is not out of line for a guy who has consistently produced like him. If they get a good offer, by all means. But I see no reason that Aram won't continue to produce at the level he has.
  3. Couldn't agree more. None of them should be with the team next year and we might as well see what we have in Nashville/Huntsville.
  4. Who cares? This season is trashed anyways. No need to lower ZG's trade value by letting him implode in the 8th. Time to start rebuilding.
  5. They really should just DFA the entire bullpen with the exception of Axford, trade K-Rod and call up the AAA guys. None of them deserve to be on a big league roster.
  6. Why don't we just add Veras, Ransom and Cesar as well? Let's just throw all the garbage players we have out there. Quantity > than quality right?
  7. Foodwise I would hit Biker Jims Gourmet Hot Dogs, Denver Biscuit Co., Tom's Home Cooking, Snooze, Euclid Hall, Stuebens (also has good cocktails and beer), I'll second the H Burger recommendation. Those are some of the standouts from the few times I've been to Denver. Drinkwise I am more of a cocktail guy so I can't really recommend the brew pubs. If you are feeling having a cocktail I would highly suggest Williams and Graham (make a reservation). I had an absolutely phenomenal time there. Also THe cruise room, colt and gray, and TAG all made good drinks. Have fun. I love Denver.
  8. Gouda, how did it go with the tenant resource center? While it sounds like and certainly seems you're in the right I would want to make sure that legally I was in control before demanding anything from the guy. Landlord tenant law can be a pretty tricky thing and when you throw in the mortgage/finance stuff as well this seems like a situation that is calling for an attorney. Either way I'll be curious to hear what happens with this.
  9. Baldkin, what kind of stuff are you looking for? I was just there and did a lot of eating and drinking. Also did some rafting, but given the drought the season is pretty much over for that. I'll second the RMNP suggestion. Since its going to be summer heading over to Wash Park and hanging out there is great just for the people watching.
  10. there is a reason the thread is titled second half optimism. ITT things should be looked from that perspective as opposed to the realistic or pessimistic viewpoint.
  11. well it appears Livan will fit right in with this bullpen.
  12. http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/story/_/id/7450256/senior-writer-jim-caple-reflects-half-century-baseball-memories Looks like there is something personal for Caple and his Milwaukee hating. What a tool.
  13. Braun initial test showed extremely high levels of testosterone which triggered the gas analysis type test. From there he tested positive for synthetic testosterone, in subsequent tests. I believe the synthetic T was the foreign substance. Whether that can be caused by degradation of the sample left in an uncontrolled environment is beyond my understanding. I don't know and I don't care what Braun did. Because chain of custody procedures were not followed we don't have enough evidence to say he's guilty, but we also can't say he's innocent. Anyone who says anything one way or another is looking at things with a slanted viewpoint. At the end of the day MLB didn't follow their procedures and the burden shouldn't be on the player in that situation. I would love to hear the "whole story" but at this point I don't think its going to happen. What female Olympian are you referring to LouisEly? I hadn't heard the story before.
