  1. My gut would say yes.
  2. Yeah I plan on leaving my house on the Eastside at 8 am.
  3. I've got a little hippy in me, so I would probably fit right in with the politics haha.
  4. I love chicken on the grill. I use a pretty simple marinade of white wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder and regular vegetable oil. For burgers I use Lawry's, onion powder and garlic powder. I love garlic powder on everything. One thing I like to do also is make grilled quesadillas. Cook up the chicken, spray the tortilla with Pam or butter or whatever. Slap the tortilla down and fill with everything and get the tortilla nice and golden brown. Just like everything else on the grill, it tastes way better than making it inside.
  5. That is awesome. I found some good Cubs jokes on the internet. No better place than here to post them. "Will the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field, please pick them up. They are beating the Cubs 4-1 in the bottom of the 7th." "What does the World Series and a bear on birth control have in common? Neither one can have Cubs." "How many drunken frat boys does it take to over turn a car? I don't know but we will find out if the Cubs ever win the World Series."
  6. I just took it. Interesting survey. Good luck with the class.
  7. Not to hijack the thread or anything but for those who live in Portland or Oregon in general do you like it? Pros, cons etc. Bonus points to those who have lived in Wisconsin and moved out there. I have visited the area twice and love, love, love it out there. I am thinking of moving out there for grad school or possibly when I am done with schooling. I would love to hear thoughts on it.
  8. Usually lists like this don't get me too riled up but seriously. He gives Cabrera the #3 position even though he rips Fielder for the very same question marks that Cabrera has. What a joke. And Ryan Zimmerman at #7!?!? Don't get me wrong he is a great player but #7?
  9. I threw a no-no with Doug Davis of all people when I had MLB 2K6. Pretty sweet and I was totally nervous towards the end of the game. I haven't been able to get one since. I had a no hitter going with Gallardo going into the 8th on 2K8 about a week ago and ended up with a 2 hitter.
  10. Count me in for the drawing and beers.
  11. My daughter is losing hers right now and $1 is the rate our tooth fairy brings.
  12. Data from empirical research shows no direct link between the recent trend in decreasing animal cracker population and human consumption. A myriad of other factors such production capabilities, taste preference and the movement towards oily, fat based snacks show a much stronger link for this trend. In other words, I love me some animal crackers. I think I am going to eat some while I watch college hoops.
  13. I am a senior at UWM right now, but I am transferring to UW-Madison to finish my degree in Wildlife Ecology.
  14. That whole drinking a gallon of milk thing in an hour. It's not an urban myth. Can't be done. Trust me on this one.
  15. I just submitted mine. Let some of the most wonderful two days of the sports year begin
  16. You should watch it sometime. Johnny Depp is great and Keira Knightley is my future wife!
  17. https://baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1658 Here is a great article about young pitchers and how young pitchers and injuries are related. Good read for those who are interested.
  18. At the time yes. Who else would you have had pitch last year? Gallardo would have been on a strict pitch count. Sheets and Capuano both had injuries. The great thing about Suppan is he is durable and dependable. He puts up 200+ innings year in and out. He isn't pretty but he is far from ugly. As some have pointed out on this board his numbers suffered because of crappy defense. He should hopefully have some better luck this year with improved defense. Is his contract huge? Yes, but thats what happens in free agency. For what he gives us in the current free agent market that deal is actually pretty good.
  19. You go to the VIP settings under the Controls tab and the setting is pitching interface. You just change it right from there. On another side note. I love the new controls but it took me like 10 hours of playing it to get them down well. I have had to play with the sliders a little and make some edits to players. Corey Hart is ridiculously slow in the game even though he is one of if not the fastest Brewer.
  20. "Personal observation. He butchered a number of ball in RF last year in limited chances. Moving to CF doesn't make things any easier." And he made a couple of great plays as well. I don't remember what game it was but he threw a laser to home from deep right field to nail a guy trying to score. It's ridiculous to judge a guy's skill set based on 2 plays. Gwynn is the better defender but not by a huge margin, same thing with baserunning. Gwynn is better but not by much. Gross is a great baserunner. The big difference between the two, IMO, is the OBP skills. Gross has a good advantage over Gwynn. If he can't hit for power he should make up for that by getting on base at a decent clip, which he does not. We don't need more mashers in our lineup but we need guys to be on base for Prince, Braun, Corey etc. I think that fact coupled with the facts that Gwynn's advantages over Gross are only slight makes Gross the better option.
  21. Final line for Parra 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB. I know it is only Spring Training but dang has he looked good.
  22. So I gave it some time and played for about an hour and a half before I really got the control of the game down. I played the Cardinals and beat them pretty good on rookie. The pitching although really difficult at first is really fun to do once you get the hang of it. Also as far as batting goes, it is really important to get your step down correctly and hit the way the pitch comes at you (outside pitch to the opposite field, inside pitch pulled etc.) I really like the game now. The graphics are awesome and the gameplay is very realistic with the Total Control mode. If it frustrates you at first just keep going with it and eventually it will start to come naturally.
  23. I have it. I am not sure what to think of it. The new pitching is really difficult. You have to mimic the way the pitch you are trying to throw on the controller. It really takes some getting used to. They have revamped all the throwing, baserunning and hitting too. That being said you can go back to last years controls which were very simple. The animations are better and the defense (a huge problem with fielding ground balls and pop flys) is greatly improved. I have to play it some more to know for sure whether or not I am into it but my first reaction is wow this is difficult but it is different from any other baseball game I have ever played.
  24. I think we have more to worry about than whether or not our young guys improve. There are some questions about our defense and our pitching. Sure we are going to hit the crap out of the ball, but we did that last season too. I do think the bullpen has the potential to be dominant but it also has the potential to implode. Also will out starters come back and be effective because there is better defense behind them or will all the position switching amount to nothing. I can't understand everyone saying the Cubs are going to run away with the division, but we are far from a sure bet by any means. In my opinion it will be a race and we will be competitive but a lock for the Central we are not.
