  1. I drove my parents Plymouth Voyager until I got my own ride, a 1991 Honda Civic. Such a good car.
  2. I agree. Is it just me or do other people out there think the Cubs are playing over their heads right now. Pretty much every starting position player, save Ramirez, is hitting well above .300. The majority of their pitching staff has been very good. I just can't fathom guys like Ryan Theirot, Reed Johnson and Soto keeping up this pace. Maybe its just me and my disdain for the Chubs, but I feel they are playing way over their heads.
  3. Is there a place that I can find info on all the ticket discounts for the year (Miller High Life days, Spring madness etc.) I looked on the website and I cant seem to find anything. I see the promotions schedule but that is just for oil changes and bobbleheads.
  4. Good for him for being honest. He never said, "Hey I'm a pot head and I smoke all the time." He said he does it occasionally when he is on his off time. Yeah it's illegal but come on there is much worse he could be doing than indulging in the occasional toke of the reefer.
  5. A certain BF.net poster/friend of mine used to host mustache Mondays at a local bar in Milwaukee. Classic. I think I am going to rock a stache in honor of these guys. Have any reporters asked them about the stache thing that's going on?
  6. Not me Really? He doesn't strike out much. Especially on 3 pitches People just think TGJ is much more of a contact hitter than he really is.
  7. FIrst off, I love Braun. Favorite player on the team hands down. He is kind of cocky and I like that. Maybe its because I can be a little cocky too, but he plays with a swagger and carries himself that way. Its hard to pinpoint what it is but its all about how someone carries themself and Braun has a cocky/confident swagger to his step. I would hate him if he were a Cub or a Yankee, but because he is a Brewer and we haven't had someone like him for a while I love it.
  8. Well, Gwynn has to take a ball he should catch and slap it over the fence to turn it into a critical two run home run for starters. Yeah what a routine play Gabe messed up there. WHat an idiot!
  9. Calzones! I love 'em. Also love to make Scalloped Potatoes with ham. If you feel like busting out the grill I would second the boneless chicken breasts and a good marinade.
  10. Yes because its a contest so that you can prove how smart you really are. Everyone who said Gabe Gross would do better than Gwynn is a moron and a crow eater. He is not doing well right now you're right. Happy?
  11. This is Prince now and..... http://www.keynews.org/archives/fielder.jpg This is Prince last season. Maybe someone can tell me how and when he got "sloppy fat." Give the whole diet thing a rest guys seriously. He is cold right now that is for sure, but no need to question his conditioning or desire. Prince has always been a very motivated and intense player. I haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise
  12. Wait I don't get it... Are you worried after tonight's performance or not worried? We got five hits and two runs off of a very tough starter and then hit the Cards bullpen. Yeah it didn't work out but four runs is pretty average for any team.
  13. Last year our relief pitching was horrible (besides Coco) going into the deadline and DM traded for Linebrink (for years had been a premier set up man). Yes he sucked last year and the move didn't work, but DM addressed a need we had and it still blew up in hsi face. You can hardly say he did nothing. The team last year played over their heads and were still in a spot to contend. This year (SO FAR!!!!) we are underperforming and still have a winning record. I am not worried about this team at all.
  14. Dear Gabe - It's ok. He didn't actually mean that. He just forgot the blue font.
  15. Dear Gabe - We are no longer fighting. I still love you. Love - theavrock
  16. Man I have been one of the biggest Gross supporters and I can't believe that I am saying this but I can't wait for TGJ to come back.
  17. If this were posted after the second game of the Mets series Hart would be included in this discussion. He was batting like .231 before he had a great two games. I am not really worried at all about numbers. I am mildly worried about the approach at the plate. Few people on the team are working counts and trying to get on base. It is still very early in the season. Going into the Cincinnati series we were the highest scoring team in the NL. Things go up and down early in the season. The approach is a little troubling but this is often what happens until hitters get in the groove.
  18. Why would we get anything of value for Turnbow when we couldn't get anything of value for Vargas? Now don't get me wrong, I am not a Vargas fan, but he is a 4-5 starter in this league for a lot of teams, which has more value than a reliever who is a head case and can't control his pitches. Turnbow can throw hard, that's all he has going for him. I think it is hilarious how everyone thinks we can just trade away our garbage for something serviceable.
  19. Obviously Billy has been eating rare steaks for breakfast lunch and dinner.
  20. Yeah we should be killing this Santana guy. I've never heard of him before.
  21. Thank God for a voice of reason. Well when Cameron makes some crazy defensive plays in CF I would like for you guys to remember those comments. Fair enough. I just think people have ridiculous expectations of Cameron and look for every excuse possible to bag on Gross and Kapler.
  22. Both pitchers over 40 pitches through 2 innings. Not what I expected.
  23. Seriously? Who cost the Brewers runs today? Are people actually watching the game? No way Gwynn makes that catch. I doubt Cameron and his Gold Glove make it to that ball.
