  1. Good start Huntsville! 5 runs on 5 hits in the top of the 1st. 2 run double for Heether.
  2. I'll answer tha by listing who's box score lines I check first: Darren Ford Will Inman Zack Braddock Angel Salome Brent Brewer Lorenzo Cain Cole Gillespie
  3. At a graduation party in Howe(TX) tonight and tried it. Meh.
  4. Why trade for Dukes? Why trade for a prospect when the real deal is available? Dr. Kervorkian just got out of jail. We'll just sign him as a free agent.
  5. Like it or not, this guy hits lefty's well. Trade him if you must, but I have no problem at all with him being a Brewer.
  6. I too agree with end. If someone thinks they want Teixera, it will take pitching to get him, probably one MLB ready arm and one top level A+ or AA prospect. I believe he can be had right now for the right offer, I do not believe this guy lasts til the trade deadline.
  7. I really like Gary Ellis when he talkes about the Badgers football or the Packers. He tries real hard on the Bucks and Brewers, but it's just not the same.
  8. I moved to Dallas and within a month, I win a Tom Landry autographed football in a drawing held at a hotel. I still have it, but I would have preferred a Vince Lombardi ball instead.
  9. M*A*S*H. (I'm pretty old) I believe it was the first time the "F" word was used in a main stream movie as well.
  10. Nice job! Good, well thought out article, with a lot of good things to report. Of couse if they were playing poorly, we might not be so complimentary. Such as it is with us fickle fans, you know.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. I believe Caufield was a 4th year senior and a nice college player. He's a year or 2 older than the kids he faced in Helena and WV. He was a nice college player, that was not considered a top level prospect. In fact, he signed late, unusual for a senior, which made him look like a roster filler, like Nate Yoho was a couple of years ago. I'm not sure whether to get excited about him or not. Right now, I'm leaning toward not, but I'd sure love to be proven wrong.
  12. Hey! Charlie Fermaint got a hit and drove in a run! Off Samardzija to boot. Maybe this will beak the seal and he'll go off on a tear for a month or so.
  13. Gee, if you way overpay for average guys, and they don't play well, you can't get value back for them in a trade? That's the first time I've ever heard of that - NOT (Yankees, Orioles et al).
  14. He never did sign the extension, even though they seemed to have agreed on #'s. That's been leading to speculation these last 2-3 weeks that he had something else in the works. I guess it was the Magic, huh?
  15. I too just thought of one more. Armed and Dangerous with John Candy and Eugene Levy, as night watchmen. Robert Logia is the bad guy and Meg Ryan has a minor role. Terrible movie, but I watch it every time. Eugene Levy plays his usual cerebral comedy with Candy his usual stuff.
  16. 15 hits for Brevard thru 8? Errecart back in the line up may put a charge in this line up for a while. That's also unusual support for Inman. Kinda overkill to give Inman a 15 hit attack.
  17. Ford with 2 more hits, 2 more steals and no k's. That extra year at A ball seems like it's working out the way they hoped. Inman sick - again.
  18. And to think West Virginia considered cutting ties with Milwaukee because they were (supposedly) skeptical about the quality of prospects coming in. Good call.
  19. Actually he's throwing real well. Got the first 2 hitters and then gave up back to back jacks. Visit to the mound by the pitching coach, and he's been doing just fine since. The good news is that he's been pounding the strike zone. NO WALKS! (He's just given up back to back doubles.) He's hitting 96 to 98 on the gun, and he's had 2 real good fielding plays already.
  20. For the moment this scares me a little, with Ford trying to cut down on the k's and find more contact. But it is a pretty interesting prospect if he can continue to progress in this manner. Thanks for the update Pogokat, I know you have seen him quite a bit these last 2 years.
  21. Wow - Nashville with a 5 run 1st - Brad Nelson with a 3 run jack jackety jack. Yea, I know it's the Power announcer's trademark call, but I move that we steal the call for all BFN minor league posts. Do I hear a 2nd?
  22. Mike McLendon had better watch out or he is going to earn a rabid BFN following. W/ L of 5 - 1 with an era of 1.83. 7 ip today of shutout ball with 6 k's.
  23. I know we are not supposed to have short posts, but this is important. I only wish to say Amen.
  24. I was watching Police Academy 2 tonight on HBO and pondering what a dull existence I really lead. It then dawned on me that even though this movie really sucks, I watch it every time it's on. So - okay admit it. Out there are movies that you would never admit to anyone that knows you, that whenever it's on, you watch it. You know the movie I'm talking about. The one that while you are watching it, someone enters the room, rolls there eyes, and leaves immediately. It should be a box office bomb to make the list, but if a guy wants to admit liking a bad chick flick that made money, that counts too. Ladies, let us know your movie(s) as well. The movie of major suckitude that I watch it every time it's on is Down Periscope with Kelsey Grammer. Never miss it. Kinda sad, huh?
  25. 2 more hits today puts him over .220. After his horrendous 1st month, if Perez ends up around .250, I'd say we have a chance to have a real prospect here.
