  1. Third straight impressive start for Donovan Hand. He seems to be more confident every time out. Hand, Pasma, Garcia, Anundsen, Seidel, Mercedes, Bryson, Tyson are all looking like they are finding a direction to head.
  2. Already a Jack Jackety Jack call for Taylor Green. Brewer alreay with a triple and an error.
  3. Look, wrist injuries and baseball players do not mix well at all. My kid's college teammate had the exact same injury/sugery and it took 2 full years for recovery. A year to feel ok and a 2nd year of average play before there was full confidence in the wrist.
  4. My wife calls Turnbow "Captain Caveman" when he comes in. I thought that was pretty clever.
  5. Find a Catfish Hunter A's, and Ken Singleton O's photo for 29 also.
  6. This was such a key issue 5 and 10 years ago when we had no farm system at all. Now there's a deep and productive farm system in place, where solid baseball/financial decisions can be made. If he's here great. If economics dictate otherwise, then we are at least in position to have the defection not be as painful as before.
  7. Kendall dropped a foul pop up last night and the next pitch was a base hit that turned out to be the winning run. I love this trade.
  8. Chris Cody really dealing thru 6. He seems to be settling into A+ ball just fine. Now if he can get thru 7 or 8. That seems to be the test.
  9. Harvard boy on fire. He and Zealous both have played well at 3rd, so they move Wilson to first. He responds with a 4 hit night. Cool.
  10. Stro's might be selling high. Word is Oswalt has lost some velocity. Last 11 starts, 70 innings, 92 hits, ERA over 5.
  11. Who are you and what have you done with Roque Mercedes(version 4)? 6 IP 0 walks, 2 er.
  12. This is my third post calling for Pasma to WV. He's 22 in Sept and dominating here.
  13. We watched Chris Young do the exact same thing here in Texas for 2 years. The Rangers decided that he would never be anything more than a first half pitcher. They also decided that Adrian Gonzales was a kid who would NEVER hit for power, so he'd never amount to anything. So they suckered the Padres into trading Akinora Otsuka and Adam Eaton for those 2 guys who would never make it. Fans here in Texas were sure they had just fleeced the Padres. A year and a half later, there''s a different spin going around about that deal's "success."
  14. Perhaps because we can't recall either of them throwing a pitch.
  15. 19 yr old Donovan Hand with another real strong start(even though he's a righty)
  16. Jeffress 5 k's after 3 complete. Welcome to the "check Darren Ford's box first" club, X.
  17. Get rid of it for something else, maybe. But do it because they don't win in Rookie ball? Hardy, Hall, Jeffress, Escobar, Cain, Ford, Fermaint, Brewer, Dillard, Langille, Periard, Chapman, Anundsen are xamples of some of the players who got their feet wet in AZ. Carlos Villanueva spent 2 years there in the Giants system. There's some intriguing guys there now like Edgar Trejo and Brett Whiteside. I'm guessing the Brewers have some end results in mind by keeping AZ for now.
  18. I repeat my post from 5 days ago. Who are you, and what have you done with Roque Mercedes?
  19. They have specially marked balls that authenticate the home run balls, to avoid fraud.
  20. As I reported in the game thread the other day, I saw Balfour throw 2 innings against OKC the other night. He pounded the strike zone with 94 to 96 mph fastballs, striking out 5 of the 6 he faced. He faced hitters 2 thru 7 in their line up. He got ahead in the count and then stayed on the black until they went down. He's got a real tight, late moving breaking ball too. It was man against boys. Thatcher pitched an inning each night I was there, striking out any lefty that faced him. He's just unfair to left handed hitters.
  21. Dang, you guys do a good job. Nice to see Crabbe back on the list, but I just don't know where he'd fit in in the show. I sure hope I'm wrong. Nelson, Sarfate and Moss either. That sure stinks, but it's starting to look like it's becoming a reality. A couple of comments: 1) Gindl starting out much stronger than Gillespie did last year at this time in the same league, and he's 5 years younger. Either he should be higher or Gillespie lower. 2) Too high for Anundsen(for now). Even though we are all excited about his potential, there's guys there, the same age, with 10 or more IP that have a better ERA including Bryson, Tyson and Garcia. Add the 20 year olds like Pasma who are throwing great, the college guys just coming in like Bramhall, Merklinger and Etheridge, not to mention that the last 2 Roque Mercedes starts were great, and Anundsen's status could slip away quickly.
  22. Each show gets better, I don't know how they do it, but keep it going gang! Every show is stolen by Drama. Kevin Dillon is just spectacular.
  23. Shaun's kinda the hub that the whole wheel of crazies is revolving around. They're playing him down on purpose. Watching him stay calm in the middle of all the chaos is like he's a straight man for the comedian. I think he's charming as all get out. Ed O'Neill just kills me when he's on the screen. And how about Paul Ben Victor who played the heavy in the Wire's 2nd season, now playing the goof here. That guy's got range.
  24. They mentioned on the broadcast that he has a bad hammy a while back and he sat out a couple of games. He came back and had a couple of good games, then he legged out a triple and hasn't been back since.
