  1. We have Braun for another 6 years I believe. By the time his contract is up with us, I doubt we'll be able to pay him what he's worth. I applaud DM for saying this...maybe Braun can start realizing his place in his organization.
  2. I agree. So Burns' next start will be Tuesday against Johan Santana? Eck... If Santanta is still getting the run "support" he was getting earlier in the season, I look forward to the Brewers winning 2-1. How 'bout 6-3. There you go Burns! You pitched great....Keep it up Crew!
  3. There are so many things that can happen from now until then. I find this funny.
  4. that's a very good point Brewman. 15 out of our next 19 games to close out the 1st half are at home. Come on Crew! Let's do this!
  5. About three weeks ago, we had one of the best pitching rotations and BP's in the league...we won 21 out of 26 games. I didn't hear too many people during that stretch saying that our pitching is weak and won't get us in the playoffs. It's funny how easy it is to forget the good times. With that said however, I am very scared of our upcoming schedule: Minny, SF, NYM, CHC, STL, LAD. That my friends is a fearful schedule. I personally see DM making a trade for a SP in the near future as well, and if it works out, and may be able to tread water until post all-star game. If this happens, I feel that we will have a shot at the WC. I just think that the Cubs and Cards are better (not by much obviously as we have been in 1st place for half the season.) than us all around. My fingers are crossed for the division though. Post all star break is a welcoming schedule: Cincy, Pitt, Atl, Washington, SD, LAD. This could be an interesting summer indeed! *on a side note to relate to my intro, I find it interesting that Macha is doing the exact same things with the line-up's and not playing small ball just like our past manager (can't say his name as I just ate dinner and I want to keep it in my stomach), but just because Macha is nicer in the media, many of us aren't chastising him. He's pretty much managing the same way X did (Macha manages the pitchers better though..no doubt!)
  6. Looks as if Dontrelle is going back on the DL due to Anxiety Disorder. That's unfortunate for him and the Tigers as the Tigers mortgaged a lot to get him. I was a big fan of Willis's and was always hopeful that the Crew could manage to pick him up....now I'm glad they didn't obviosly. Nonetheless, the Tigers are planning on bringing up Alfredo Figaro from AAA for his Major League debut. Those 3 words scare the bejibas out of me when it relates to someone pitching against the Crew in that debut. Figaro will be matched up against Bush on Saturday. We have a shot at taking this series as the Tigers are going with Gallaraga, Figaro and Verlander for the series. Gallaraga has a 5.56 ERA and is 3-7. Verlander will be going up against Yovanni. Should be a fun 3 game series to watch. I'm very excited to see if our H's (Hart/Hardy) can continue to stay hot.
  7. Not sure this thread should be a bash party on TH. This is going against the forums conduct guidelines.
  8. This hurts in so many ways. Chances of us winning is drastically low. Our BP is going to suffer. DM's chances of trading Parra is no longer present, or at least trading him and getting something good in return. Thanks Manny for ruining my Saturday!
  9. especially if Hairston is the additional piece of the pie.
  10. I like the way you think StadiumSauce.
  11. At this point, I'm not sure. It would be interesting to see if anyone's slated to come off the DL in the very near future (either an outbound prospect or an inbound player), as maybe it's health that's holding someone up. Scotty Kazmir is coming off of the DL pretty soon. That would be an interesting pick-up. Webb is another, but he's going to be coming back a bit later. Man this is fun. Here's hoping we will find out soon. Thanks to all the insiders.
  12. that's hilarious. It was crazy how real this dream was. Oh well, maybe it's a sign. Who knows, they may call you to pick them up too.
  13. All throughout the night, I was having dreams that Peavy and his family flew into Milwaukee in the middle of the night and I was the only one who knew about it. I was going to post something but decided not to as I was going to let the big boys get the scoop. I woke up upset to realize it was only a dream and we're currently still without Peavy or someone to that magnitude. Sure am glad I didn't post anything in my mid-slumber.
  14. my apologies as this is not a Peavy thread in itself. carry on.
  15. How could you want no part of Peavy? You're going to be giving up current roster spots plus prospects for either of them, so I can understand how you would want Halladay over Peavy. But I don't understand how you would want no part of Peavy? Are you suggesting that keeping our current SP's of Suppon, Parra, Looper and Bush while keeping our prospects is better than having a 1-2 punch of Yo and Peavy while losing some prospects? I would take either. I like the 1-2 punch over our current SP situation. I also think that adding any front line SP to our squad is better than what we have now. It's Mark A's money...let him spend it. It's obvious he wants a winner and a visit to the Series. Go Brewers.
  16. I have a fever...and the only remedy is more Peavy. Awesome! Get it done DM.
  17. I'm sorry but...that was hilarious! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  18. Rivera is hitting better than JJ this year. That's my guess.
  19. well that just stinks. not over yet, but that stinks. This series has dampened my spirits. Hopefully, we turn it around for Wsox.
  20. Brian, Richie, Colby? Any guesses on when we might hear more specifics on this? I'm refreshing my page every 3 minutes which is fun its own right, but any timelines would be appreciated.
  21. RyDogg66 previously posted in the Peavy forum... "By the way, if Peavy has dropped his no trade to Milwaukee and Melvin and Towers are talking, I could see something happening shortly after the draft, once Melvin sees what his haul is and where the organization stands depth-wise." Regardless if it's Peavy or not, a possible trade this short after the draft is worth noting. Nice post RyDogg66.
  22. Parra to the bullpen......pitcher "x" to the rotation??? Hmmmm. I like your thought pattern here Klements. Brian, please bring us some news of an early Christmas.
  23. I would imagine it's to allow Burns to get back into his SP routine down in AAA. Smith was a BP guy anyways.
  24. I am a Bill Hall apologist, so with the understanding that he is completely failing to produce under pressure this past week, and Gamel has shown promise...I would just like to remind everyone that up until Gamel showed up, Hall was making Web Gem after Web Gem and hovering around the .300avg. My point is that I find it funny that we as fans are so quick to find fault as the grass is always so much greener on the other side. With that said...if we can get someone to take Hall's contract from us, I wouldn't be upset with it as I agree with the title of this thread....I don't see him ever adjusting.
