  1. "This is the life of a...the life of a...Go Getter...Go Getter" My point is....#8 knows how to succeed in life and in Baseball which I guess co-inside for him. He knows his body, he knows his abiltiy. If this "concern" was a threat to his ability to succeed in life and/or his baseball career, I would think he would be playing it with more self concern that he has been showing. My trust is with Braun in this situation. I know how many players "just want to be on the field, and will play through pain:".....but for some reason, Braun is a different type of player from what I've observed. This kid has an unbelievable grasp on society, his role on the team, his role in Milwaukee society, his role in baseball society, his role in baseball history, and the life ahead which is waiting for him. I would highly doubt he's going to risk success this early in his career. I'm ready for a big year from our 2 through 5 hitters with a hopeful interest with #1 and #7 hitters. Cameron and Kendell will be themselves...no surprises there (Stable).
  2. When Hall plays... Hardy Braun Fielder Hart Cameron Weeks Hall Kendell When McGehee plays... McGehee Weeks Braun Fielder Hardy Hart Cameron Kendell When Lamb plays... Hardy Braun Fielder Hart Weeks Cameron Lamb Kendell My favorite of the three is the 2nd option with Hardy inbetween Fielder and Hart. Everyone gets their protection.
  3. Very well done! I like the one's with the distorted focus. Also, the one of bunt attempt is a great pic.
  4. Very well done! I like the one's with the distorted focus. Also, the one of bunt attempt is a great pic.
  5. McGehee with another HR. Welcome to the bigs son! ......either that or you're going to be traded. I'm a fan of the former.
  6. How can you "get the feeling" that the injury bug is going to strike this year? That's like saying that every team in MLB is going to suffer from the injury bug. Did you consult with your magic 8 ball on that one? My predictions... Hall and Weeks are both going to bat over .260 but not over .280 Yovanni with 16 W's, Suppan with 11 W's, Parra with 15 W's, Bush with 8 W's, Looper with 14 W's. McCLung with 6 W's. Braun and Fielder will both be in the mix for MVP Hart will get his 3rd straight 20/20 Weeks will have 40+ SB's JJ Hardy will start out hot in April and slump in May and June. July and August will be JJ's months with a decent Sept. Miller Park will see 2.8 Million in attendance. 89 Wins Cubs with 86 W's...St Louis 79 W's....Cincy with 81 W's...Houston 78 W's and Pitts with 72 W's. Braun, Fielder, Hardy will be our All Stars this year 85 HR's between Braun and Fielder
  7. Big Boy is going to rack this year! Awesome video which shows just how slim the kid is. Man am I jacked up to watch Prince and Braun crush the NL!!! Way to go Prince!
  8. yah, but what's the likelihood of Swindle starting the year in the BP? With all those names, I'm doubtful of it.
  9. Three cheers for Hart! Where's the love? We got our squad now! Congrats Cory!
  10. Here's my big question to all of you... Other than Stetter, who's going to be our other Lefty RP? From my accounts, Stetter seems like the only lefty that is going to make the roster, and if that's the case, I'm not as happy as I want to be right now. I love the Gagne signing as I love incentive laden contracts....but another righty? I would have rather have signed Shouse and had 2 lefties in the BP.
  11. and boom goes the dynamite!
  12. Thanks for the info on McGehee. I like the sound of his defensive skills. Sounds like a good guy to have on your squad in certain situations. If he can be an above average situational hitter (which the Crew definitely is in need of), sounds like he could be an asset.
  13. I'm actually ok with starting his service time if he starts rackin in ST. If we need him, then use him. I want to win now and if he's our best option, being a lefty over Counsell...then by all means, let the kid play. What about this McGehee kid...I keep hearing his name but I don't know much about him. I saw his profile on brewers.com, but that doesn't tell me much.. Is he a more of a hitter than a fielder or vice versa? Can he play defense? Can he hit?
  14. whatever Arod....you would have never said anything about this if the story never came out. How sorry can you really be?
  15. One more to go. Way to go Weeks! Here's hoping you have your breakout year. We need it!!!
  16. Good points....but for this situation, nothing has shown any of us that either party is willing to budge, leading me to believe our April 7th 2009 starting rotation is going to be Sheetsless.
  17. I am a firm believer that all of this Sheets back to the Crew talk is just nonsense as he has shown no interest in coming back and DM has indicated that we aren't going to add payroll...especially to someone who is as injury prone as Sheets. Do I want him back, Yes! But I also understand that there's gotta be reasons why the Crew won't even offer him some dough...even in this market. They obviously know something about Sheets' health that the majority of the other owners know as well. My guess, is that he's not going to be ready for the beginning of the season. This of course is 100% speculation. With Oliver Pear-ez just signing for 13 million a year, Sheets is going to be looking for at least 14/year as Sheets is no doubt a better pitcher than Pair-Ez. In this economy, most owners can't take a risk on Sheets at that price.
  18. Just watched it. Tell you one thing...I wouldn't want to face Vuk anytime soon. That guy was the definition of intimidation. I enjoyed the montages on each of the major players...I lasted up to the World Series, but I had to turn it off as I couldn't watch them lose to those dang namitt Cardinals!
  19. Ben could have accepted arbitration with the Crew but decided not to. Haudricourt has blogged numerous times that Sheets has indicated that he is not talking with the Brewers at all and is only talking with other teams. The Crew has no chance at signing him unless they offer more money than Mets/Rangers....which won't happen as Mark A has freezed his spending for right now.
  20. Not sure if you heard, but Sheets doesn't want to play for the Brewers anymore....He's lookin elsewhere. Melvin has made is clear that even though the window is still open, the liklihood of Sheets returning is almost non-existent. Now if it allows more room to sign someone else such as a Garland type, then I'll listen.. On the other hand, I am actually very excited to see Hall play this year....He had a horrible year last year and he is still young and determined to make more money. He just got lasix surgery and can still make plays in the field (he can also make a lot of errors, yes). I personally don't want to trade Hall at all.
  21. Per MLBTR...looks like the Crew is thinking of bringig back Counsel as a left handed bat option off the bench. I personally like it. He's shown the ability to help the team out...not the most consistent, but a proven bench player who can get the job done. He'll come cheap too.
  22. I guess I was thinking Prince/Boras would have offered 9-10 and the Brewers would have offered 7.5. To me, for the amount of money that Prince makes the Mark A, I would have figured 6 million was quite low. I guess I was wrong though. Either way, I agree that the 2 million difference isn't bad at all and I'm happy to see that's it won't exceed 8 million.
  23. Am I wrong in thinking that 6 million offered to Fielder is a slap in the face to Prince? I know that it's a matter of negotiating the deal, but 6 million? When I first heard that, I was sure that Prince said about 70 swear words in the direction of the Brewers.
  24. If he was a lefty, I'd say sure, but we have no need for him right now.
