  1. Did you intentionally leave Harrison off your list?
  2. Not getting a top 10 pick in the next draft would be a disappointment. Just missing the playoffs would be a disaster. Then we don't get a good pick and there is no change in the direction of the franchise. More mediocrity.
  3. AAA is not going to be all that helpful for stats until we get out of Colorado.
  4. Segura is a full time player. Comparing batting lines between a player who mostly plays with a platoon advantage to one who plays against everyone is useless. Of course the platoon guy should hit much better.
  5. It is when a player has faced a platoon advantage 88% of the time. He is a part time player at best.
  6. In the last 10 years the Rays they have twice as many wild card berths. Twice as many division titles, in a much much tougher division. They also have a World Series appearance.
  7. No point reading a post that starts out like this. Posts like this are why I post here a lot less than I used to. If you can't refrain from posting without name calling, don't bother to post at all.
  8. I am not saying this is the case, but it has been on my mind all season while he has been pitching poorly.
  9. Ramsay was pretty decent on Kid's Masterchef.
  10. If he misses starts a low option is available to the Brewers. If he doesn't miss starts a huge option kicks in. Per Cot's.
  11. It's not about just having pitching. It's about elite pitching. Same with position players. We need to produce elite talent internally. Elite talent is what separates and average team from a good team.
  12. There is little reason for Garza to report anything other than a major injury. He is better off playing poorly through almost injury than reporting an injury and playing well.
  13. Yes!!! Cherry picking a select portion of the season in which they are *almost* .500!!! It's awesome that it only took 6 straight wins to get close to mediocre. Hooray for playing 4 against the Phillies.
  14. Might be an outlook issue. I have been having problems with my hotmail accounts on my phone since last night.
  15. We heard the same about Segura. The metrics look pretty similar. Close enough to be equal. There just isn't enough to separate one from the other. Doesn't look like Segura would be better than their 2B either.
  16. I don't think Wilmer is good but he is performing better than Segura is right now. He is younger and they have similar levels of performance at the MLB level through their careers. There isn't enough to separate them to say Segura would be a clear upgrade. Right now I would probably lean towards Flores being a better SS.
  17. Of course they want an upgrade. Right now he is better than Segura. He is younger and has been about as good as Segura the last few years. for them, Segura is not good enough to give up anything for.
  18. I don't see why the Mets would want Segura. Their current SS is hitting better than Segura and plays defense as well. He is also younger than Segura. It seems like a bad move to give up something for a minimal improvement or a step back.
  19. The offseason also gives teams the ability to make more moves to cover a hole that would open up by trading a good player.
  20. They traded Estrada for Lind.
  21. China is also very very big into hacking. State sponsored.
  22. What he isn't pointing out is that the Hall can do all of that without enshrining him. My understanding is that Rose is already very well covered in the museum, just as other non-enshrined players might be if they've done something historically significant (either positive or negative). But as I've said, the MLB ban and Hall eligibility are two separate things. I think the MLB ban has to stand. But if the Hall wants to change its stance on banned players and let voters decide on enshrinement, I'm open to that discussion. That seems a good rationale for letting in all the steroid users also.
  23. We still have 2 options left with Wang. That is 5 cheap years beyond this year.
  24. Even if it does I don't think paying a guy for 3 or 4 years for the hope that he gives you 1 or 2 good years is worthwhile. It has the same net effect as giving too many years to older veterans. We are talking league minimum money. That is easily worth while if he pans out. Look how we handled Marco Estrada. We could easily keep Wang in the minors for a few years then use him in the back end of the bullpen while he develops. Especially considering how the team looks in the next few years that is not a very big deal.
