  1. Yes. Trying to maximize the trade value of a guy and add more overall talent to the organization should be priority number one. Unless we intend to trade Davies.
  2. Yes, I understand the whole underslot thing but no player shouldn't get almost the whole slot. The teams have no power in this situation. You either sign the player or lose the money. With slotting the league is saying "this is how much you are worth but you can sign for less than that if you want." There is no reason a player shouldn't sign for less than that. and if they do sign for under slot you get more money. If they think they can do better in the next draft is the only reason not to sign for under slot. It is hard to turn down guaranteed money.
  3. I trust Lucroy to handle our young pitchers. I just think we should trade him before he hits FA so we can add to our current bubble of talent. He will be old and overpaid or gone by the time we are good again.
  4. It leaves open the possibility that you sign a guy under slot. With a hard slot there is no hope at all of signing a guy under slot. Sure some guys can demand the whole slot value but it's not like you are out anything if they do.
  5. League average for the NL last year was 3.91ERA. None of those WHIPs look good.
  6. He is in his late 20's. They usually don't worry about innings as much after a certain point.
  7. Don't get me wrong, the game looks awesome. The battle of Hoth was a lot of fun. If you like Star Wars and the Battlefield series this is probably a good game for you. Whether I buy it will rest 100% on what it offers offline.
  8. I am not looking forward to Battlefront as much as I was before. I played the Beta and it was fun but I will wait until it is heavily discounted. Without a campaign or galactic conquest there isn't much value for me. I can only play multiplayer online so long before it loses it's thrill. The Hoth level was awesome to play, but became less so towards the end when people got into groups and knew what they were doing. I just don't have the time or inclination to play enough to get that good. In my opinion, multiplayer online is not for casual players.
  9. The odds he keeps up a .216 BABIP again next year are pretty slim. That is the kind of BABIP you see out of top relievers. It looks like he added a cutter so he didn't get hit as hard. I still wouldn't expect him to keep a BABIP that low. Starters just don't maintain that. Arrieta made a significant change between 2013 and 2014. His BB/9 went way down and he saw a pretty good uptick in K/9.
  10. That is the last straw. No more Braun to 3B talk.
  11. If you like 7 or 8 and are running those operating systems I would say I am 50/50 on 10. I like 10 and think it runs faster than 7 or 8, but there are some issues and unless you configure it right it collects a lot of information on you. You have a long time to upgrade for free.
  12. And one more win.... Record is what it is. Probably worse than expected so be happy they are top five and not top ten. Be upset we didn't get a better pick.
  13. Two issues about judging his RBI total 1) Davis really only played a little over half the season as an everyday player. Parra replaced often and he had the injury that kept in out for an extended amount of time. 2) Brewers don't get on base period. Braun & Lind are in same boat where if they were on a team that had guys capable for getting on base, they'd have over 100rbis. You got Segura and Gennett sitting at the top of the order repping sub .300 obp. Perez has a solid .270 obp.... Simply enough, it is hard to drive in guys when they are not on base. 243 PA with bases empty 17 HR/RBI's 197 PA with men on base 10 HRs 49 RBIs -120 of those PA's with men in scoring position where he hit only 5hrs and had 38 Rbis He has 27 HRs and 66 RBIs in 440 PA in only 108 starts..... not too bad Don't bother. RBI's have been explained to him several times. He loves them anyway.
  14. New Jersey and LA. We aren't going to ever get a salary cap. The best we cna hope for is to drain some money out of the Yankees and Dodger's pockets.
  15. Two more losses would have put us in the third pick so two draft places.
  16. Yeah I can see how we should be happy about losing $2m to spend in the draft. We can just shift that money over to spending on on players from Central America since that isn't capped.
  17. We lost a significant amount of money for the draft in just the last week. $837,000 with just one more loss. Two more losses and we would have picked 3rd and gained $2,034,600 for the draft. That is a significant amount of money.
  18. Completely disagree. They failed at tanking as well. This team, much like the 2013 team, just couldn't do anything right.
  19. That's not going to be good for business. That's not going to be good for anyone.
  20. Definitely not good business.
  21. I think moving Braun makes even less sense now than it did at the start of the year. The guy has core injuries every year. How will reaching and bending often every game work out?
  22. Now they should just shut down Luc.
  23. Lind is 32 with back problems. You could maybe make the argument that we should keep him if we're good, but we're not and won't be for a few years, so add some prospects by trading him. Other than Lind, there's no LH power in the lineup and none close to the major leagues. Lind's worth more to the Brewers than he is to most teams who are already set at 1B. Developing young RH hitters when the opposing pitchers settle in by not seeing any threat from the left side? You are doing them a disservice. For $8 million, he's worth having around another year. His approach at the plate is something young hitters can learn from too. Sure for teams that are set at 1B. There are only a few teams that Lind wouldn't be an improvement at 1B.
  24. You can only spend so much on the international market.
