  1. I mean Hader is pretty much fitting in what some of us who like advanced stats wanted the best reliever to do for years and years. Come in when the game is close not necessarily in the 9th inning and go for multiple innings. I honestly wish I had been watching the Brewers more over the last few years.
  2. Can't really compare QBs in the last 20 years to anything that happened before 2000. The game has fundamentally changed to favor the passing game. Favre I think hurt the team by playing as much as he did. I think if he had opted out when injured the Packers would have been better off some of the time. I would take Rodgers over Favre for a team that was just a QB short of the Super Bowl but I would take Favre on a truly crappy team. Favre was way to volatile to be on a consistently winning team. Too many turn overs. Interesting to look at the career of Alex Smith vs Rodgers though. Alex kind of got screwed a bit as he had to deal with 7 different offensive coordinators and 3 different head coaches over as the 49ers QB. I really believe in franchise consistency in the NFL.
  3. Give it a month beyond a disappointing season before reading anything into it. I really like the Packers drafting Love. Good move to draft a replacement to be an understudy for a few years before being a starter. More teams should do that. worked good when they drafted Rodgers right? Maybe they can trade him to the 49ers(my team). How good would they be if they didn't have a glut of injuries and a decent QB. Grapalo sucks.

    Pizza

Maybe they should start marketing it as Detroit style to get more sales. Honestly more crust is not all that appealing to me. I am kind of craving Roadhouse in Ripon. Probably nostalgia or just something other than chain pizza though. I remember them having very thin crust with good sauce. Beer sauce which seemed really cool when I was younger. It has been a really really long time since I have been there.
  5. It is ridiculous to assume some in the late 90's and early 2000's were on steroids while some were clean and players before or after were not. Everyone is trying to get a competitive advantage and the cheaters are always going to be ahead of the testers. Just vote in the best performers from the time they played and be done. We all know about the steroid era.

    Pizza

Detroit style pizza looks like Rocky Rococo
  7. Fulltime school is completely different than in person in our district. None of the teachers are doing the online parts. They farmed out the online schooling to Edgenuity and it kind of sucks.
  8. My district has been in person all year, every day, 5 days per week... 20-24 kids per classroom, some more depending on seating arrangement and space. Our kids travel to 6 seperate classes per day in different classrooms, 6 different teachers, and frequent the cafeteria 2 times to boot. (breakfast break and lunch) Teachers in my building are exposed to 80 - 100 kids per day, not counting speacial duties like lunch supervision, coaching, etc... Teachers are definately at risk, but I still think old people should get the vaccine first. I am fine with being in 1B as far as the pecking order. That sounds like business as usual and seems insane to me.
  9. I think teachers being out probably puts more stress on schools than people being out at a grocery store. I would also argue that even keeping distance teachers and students are still in a confined space with the same people for longer than people working in a grocery store. Clerks have very short contact with a lot of people. You don't hear too many people talking about getting sick from the grocery store. You do hear about teachers getting sick. Even if a sick customer would come through, the contact is pretty brief.
  10. I can only speak for our district, but school has changed a bit for this year. Students are all in cohorts. Classes are 15-20 tops. Kids are only in class 2 days a week. Either Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday. Kids stay in the same room all day even for lunch.
  11. You live an interesting life man... He sure does but thinking back over the years not very stable. Jumping from job to job working at US Parks. Kind of wish I had done something similar when I was younger. Not great for a family though.
  12. The current flu vaccine is a guess from two years out I thought. Kind of why I have never had the flu vaccine not being in a class with high susceptibility.

    Pizza

How is that pizza place in Ripon now? The one across from the first Marcus Theaters. Roadhouse I think?
  14. I tried to find a simple graphic for you, but it seems all there is are either way too involved (having everything from comics and books included), it didn't have the years, or it had the release dates. Bby/aby means before/after the battle of yavin(first death star) Episode 1- 32 bby 2- 22 bby Clone wars- 22 bby 3- 19bby Solo- 13-10 bby Rougue one- 0bby 4- 0 5- 3 aby 6- 4 aby Mando- 9aby 7- 34 aby 8- 34 aby 9- 35 aby This one seems pretty good and steamlined. Just TV and movies.
  15. That is kind of what it boils down to. Masks and distancing are so we can get out and do some normal things. Any gathering of people for an extend amount of time is a roll of the dice hoping no one is there to pass it on.
  16. That's me too until I actually sit down and watch. After an inning or two I'm looking for something else to do. By the time the kids are in bed and I have time for myself the Brewers are usually in the 6th or 7th inning so I check the score to see if it's worth turning on. Most times I do but rarely do I pay close attention to it. Maybe it's 3TO baseball, maybe it's just being an adult and having other things to do but a baseball game on TV doesn't hold my attention like it used to. I love day games for this reason. I usually would put it on my second computer screen while I'm working. I was outraged when the Brewers played almost no day games in 2020. Night games usually start at 5 PM west coast time so pre-COVID I would put the game on my headphones while riding the bus home from work and if the game was interesting I would have it on during my evening run. Might catch the 8th or 9th inning on TV if it was a close game. When the Brewers turned into a full 3TO team in 2020 it got boring really fast. If the opposition had a good pitcher on the mound there was just no chance of them doing anything offensively. Along those same lines, why don't they do afternoon games on Saturdays? I would love to sit out in the sun grilling and hanging out with friends on a Saturday afternoon. I love YouTube TV. Their DVR function was fantastic and worked great even for live sports that never got recorded right with Tivo if they ran long. Loved it at $35 and would still be a subscriber. Jumped up to $50 and I didn't really need it. At $65 it is something I might get for a month or two if I really really wanted to watch Brewers games but there really isn't anything on live TV that I can't do without.
  17. For sure. For me it's a once or twice a year treat when I'm in WI to visit, so I tend to go for the double bacon deluxe with curds. Maybe even a concrete shake. I feel a little guilty afterwards but that is a hell of a satisfying meal of gluttony. Looked that up and that's about $14-15 even with the smallest size curds and mixer. Multiply that be 4 and you are talking about $60 for a family of 4 unless you have really young kids. That's crazy. Think similar for McDonalds would be $40 which isn't exactly inexpensive either.
  18. Outside of his time managing the Astros I like Cooper too.
  19. Wear a mask when out of the house. Keep your distance from anyone outside of your household for a few more months. Give up one year of holidays. Deal with it or be selfish and do as you like. I am tired of all the people who think this is about freedom and don't care about other people. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a lot of empathy but holy cow, be decent human being. How hard is that?
  20. I think so. The "I only had one glass of wine" part seems really familiar. This guy has always been a turd. All over all the little fingers in his hand.
  21. If accurate, and I don't think it's far off, everything we're doing now is a complete waste of time as far as trying to coerce people to comply. Whatever portion is still going along with things now will be significantly smaller in 6 months or a year. I wouldn't say it is a waste of time to try to limit the spread so we have adequate facilities to treat those who are infected. We are at capacity in the Fox Valley from what I have heard from nurses in the area and other reports. Wear a mask.
  22. Maybe. We don't know what would have happened if everything wasn't shut down. The fact that some of the early deaths were in Fond du Lac and that there was an early case in Bayfield suggests that it was out there. It hit NYC, Seattle, Chicago, and San Francisco first because that is where the most traffic to/from China is and it spread because of population density, but it was in some rural areas. I've always been a fan of giving people choices. I've gone back and forth on whether it would have been a good or bad idea to have said, "you either have to wear a mask or you have to sign something that if you contract COVID you waive your right to get treatment". Give a choice, but let there be consequences for that choice. Don't know how they would have enforced that at hospitals, but it might have made people think twice. In marketing it is called a nudge - create hassles and consequences for not doing what you should do. What should have happened is that the state health department should have been doing random checks on business and fining them/pulling their license for not abiding by capacity limits and staff not wearing masks. That worked really well in Chicago, as several restaurants/bars lost their license or got big fines. Businesses got in line real quick. I thought a lot of the early evidence was that many of the infections in NY came in through Europe. Wear a mask.
  23. We don't know the long term effects of Covid-19. There is evidence that there are possibly long term effects but we do not know the extent yet. Wear a mask.
  24. The huge difference with Covid-19 is and always has been you are highly contagious before you even know you have it. Wear a mask.
