  1. is it possible that the team is all wound too tight and pumped up because of the CC trade? if that's the case, they need to get over it like right now and win this game. my god I hate Mota.
  2. well, I was expecting to come home and find that we were up big, considering who's pitching. Imagine my surprise to find this. How are we losing to Glendon Rusch!??!
  3. I would feel a lot more comfortable if it were $60 and not $72mm. Either way, i'm glad we have him locked up as he seemed to be the only member of the team that actually cared last year. Get rid of Mo and Gadz and we're on our way!
  4. I haven't parked anywhere but the Giants lot for as long as I can remember. Easiest to get in and out of and the tailgating there is easily the best. I own a Bill Hall jersey and will defend him to the death, no matter how irrational it may be. I'm also pretty sure i'm the only person on the planet with a Dave Bush t-shirt jersey. I'm thoroughly enjoying his mini-renaissance here.
  5. wow, that last line is ridiculous. Maybe we should trade Sheets for Theriot!
  6. Harang has absolutely been killing my fantasy team all year. Hopefully he can at least return the favor and get knocked around by the Crew on Sunday. For as good as he was last year, to be this bad this year, something has got to be wrong.
  7. I really think everyone here is underestimating Gallagher. I've seen him pitch several times, he has a chance to be very, very good. As it stands now, if Harden goes down, they've lost some depth there. Like many people have mentioned, dealing with Billy Beane is risky business, so I don't think we'll really know who 'won' the trade for a couple of months.
  8. If they gave up Gallagher, I like it from our perspective. Harden will be hurt soon and then they'll be without their #1 pitching prospect.
  9. this is why whenever I pay for drinks on a credit card, i'll always close out and pay my tab after each round. it's a little bit of a pain, but well worth the peace of mind.
  10. AWESOME park. I was out in Napa/San Fran last week for vacation and the gf and I went to the Cubs/Giants game on Monday (she's a Cub's fan). We were about 25 rows behind home plate, but from the looks of it, it really didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house. I'll echo skipping Fisherman's Wharf and hitting up Muir Woods. Alcatraz is cool too if you're into that kind of thing.
  11. isn't it really just the father that you have to 'ask'?
  12. I absolutely hate two things about Brewers fans: 1) Booing current or ex-players 2) The wave I can tolerate some booing if a pitcher absolutely blows up (Mota) or if a player seemingly screws us over (CoCo), but booing Carlos Lee or Bill Hall is just ridiculous. The wave is something that should not be tolerated ever. There has been 1 game i think this year that i've been to where it hasn't started. On Sunday, people were getting it going during the 2nd inning! Why even come to the game if you're more fascinated with starting the stupid wave??? The worst part is, it always seems to happen during an exciting part of the game and people cheer louder for that than they do for the actual game. It's ridiculous.
  13. my dreams of a 10-0 homestand have been dashed! Hopefully McClung figures it out for Saturday. 9-1 baby!
  14. I would be perfectly fine if he sits, especially if his hand is bothering him still.
  15. Brandon Morrow is their #1 pitching prospect, they just have him in the pen to get him experience and because of Putz's injury. I would imagine he's untouchable.
  16. it makes all the sense in the world to sit Soup down for a while, but everyone knows that common sense doesn't always prevail when there is big money involved. maybe a little rest would do him good like it did Hardy.
  17. haha, those were my two friends. one of them texted me during the game and said he had made a ridiculous purchase. apparently they convinced the lady at the custom t-shirt shop to let them make it even though he wasn't techincally on the team at the time.
  18. It will hurt to lose either one of these guys, but I really don't want to see LuCroy go, despite the emergence of Salome and the drafting of Lawrie.
  19. from what i've read, it sounds like Beane is holding onto Harden unless he can get a Dan Haren type return, which is not what I think the Brewers should be doing.
  20. that is one of the most ridiculous things i've heard. there is NO way the Dodgers trade the #1 pitching prospect in the game for 3 months of anybody.
  21. I don't have a problem with trading an all-star, but I do have a problem with trading an all-star for 3 months of a player. Especially considering JJ has carried this team the last week or so! I am incredibly excited and absolutely terrified of the possible trades here.
  22. the draft picks would be nice, but that doesn't make us a playoff contending team in 2009 or even 2010.
  23. I just think that if we're going to go for it this year, which getting CC would mean, that it would be tough to lose JJ's production, especially of late. He was an all-star last year, I would hope that an all-star and a #1 prospect would get you more than 2 months of CC Sabathia.
  24. Good that Escobar is not in the deal, very bad if Hardy still is. LaPorta and Green plus a throw in is better than they'll get from anyone else, why go any higher???
