  1. I'd bet neither one of those happen. Probably not— would the nats trade Robles?
  2. You basically just told us the Braves or White Sox could offer acuna or Eloy to beat our brinson
  3. I have some bad news for you... Now we know why David is so good at his job! needs to have his phone open to twitter
  4. I think they are trying to create space for those guys, to some degree here. If they really want to improve defense, just play those guys.
  5. Ellsbury hasn't been good in years and Santana hit in the 280 with a 370 obp really can't expect too much more. Defense is his only issue. All the money these other guys cost could just be put towards pitching. Yelich's deal is so good that I see why you have to check on him but I strongly doubt you can pull off all the moves necessary for it work out. Long term, 2019 or 20 I hope Santana can be the guy at 1B. I agree with you about Ellsbury, I’m just trying to reason out what’s up
  6. Gotta think that the brewers view Santana’s defense as a bigger problem than most of us do. Also, given the names we see them connected to—yelich, Cain, Ellsbury—perhaps they see a value in batting average in an era when hrs are easy to find
  7. Carlos Gomez! that's a great idea! lets sign him, then trade broxton for Wilmer. The irony would be awesome!
  8. Brett Gardner is a lot like Cain with the bat and would cost less...costs much less than Ellsbury. Can he play Center still? Probably doesn't matter since he'd be taking over for Domingo, or in a time share with Lewis and Maverick.
  9. I think Ellsbury would be legit too. *Assuming "need" is not the primary motivating factor. There's a few more than just those guys. Donaldson, Beltre, Gardner, come to mind as well. I've seen the Cards listed as a possible suitor for Donaldson all Winter, but is he really available? would the Brewers just shift Shaw to 1b and play Thames part time in the OF?
  10. Oh, all of those guys are the crap. I'm hoping they all come with something really good. I'm actually hoping the brewers take Shields and a couple really awesome prospects from the White Sox. So let's play that out if having fun is the goal. The clear implication here is that the Brewers are working on a deal that brings back a bad salary and maybe a couple of good prospects. How does that lead to the next trade? Could also be a bad contract and a good MLB player as well. HighHeat gave us an example yesterday with Santana essentially bringing back Kipnis and Salazar (as well as Mejia which would probably be the greatest trade ever) I'd love to get something like Kopech and Tim Anderson from the Whitesox, so if I had to take some of Shields contract to do it, i'd think about it.

  12. Overpaid, but not terrible and fill a position the Brewers could use sorta in the AL: Jason Kipnis Russell Martin Jordan Zim Jacoby Ellsbury Dustin Pedroia Hanley Ramirez Rick Porcello Troy Tulo James Shields Now, not all of these teams need an Outfielder. So, if I had to guess, i'd say the Brewers are taking one of Kipnis, as has been guessed already, Martin, or James Shields.
  13. What makes you think I'm not having fun? I was ready to jump in head first when this popped up and Crasnick was sort of confirming it. Then he walked it back and things started making less sense. I'd hate to think that this board is about going along with the group think or get out. I had a different opinion, I stated that clearly and never attacked anyone. if i misread your tone, then no worries!
  14. I think some of you guys are just completely missing out on the point of this message board: fun. If you are looking for actual news, this probably isn't the best spot. For those of you that like endless chatter about possible trades and whatnot, this is great. For those of you that are annoyed that none of us are actually able to predict the real moves, I think you are in the wrong spot.
  15. Hey HighHeat19, has all of this now become contingent on a free agent signing?
  16. my tweet: Could the Brewers be making a move with the Indians? lots of chatter on http://brewerfan.net to suggest that santana could head there for a package involving Salazar, Kipnis, Mejia, all of them?... or maybe not at all? I have like 50 followers. There are more people reading this here than on twitter. I gained 4 followers because you brought this up. Also, I didn't say anywhere here that this was a real rumor, that I had a source, that I had authority, or anything. Nada. just that we were chatting about it on brewerfan.net, a website that i'd love to drive more traffic towards. reckless?
  17. The fun part about twitter is the same as the fun part about here---chatting about rumors. I'm not a new source any more than the rest of you guys. As a result, when someone mentions a good one, why not tweet about it? I've also tweeted about ellsbury, yu, and devon travis tonight. And rumor mongered about 1,000 different people in the past.
  18. Well, someone named Brad just took this to Twitter. It won't be long before this blows up... Howdy. I'm Brad. Should I be pogokat on twitter as well?
  19. No. It is not. A shame, but hardly surprising... it could still be, i think he's just clearly stating that the transaction that he has info about is not related to the darvish offer
  20. I'm game! Nunez: 2 years, 8 Million Darvish (why Not!) 5 years, 110 million or more realistically Cobb 3 years, 42 million
  21. I appreciate Crasnick's tweet just for warming up the Brewers hotstove. it's been dead and tonight has been fun.
  22. The brewers paid Garza 12.5 Million this year, so if they give Darvish 20, they are really only adding 7.5 to the budget from last year, and hopefully a whole lot of talent.
  23. Maybe Devon Travis? he seems to be on the bench for the blue jays right now, but great in 15/16. Blue jays also have good pitching to trade. While they've picked up some outfielders, none are very good.
