  1. Final: Birmingham (White Sox) 4, Huntsville 2 Not a good night to be Brewers fan... Huntsville Box Score: Captain Lou just plain on fire. Can't explain why he's having the best 50 at bats of his life, but I hope it's something that he can maintain for the whole season. Lou's OBP is STILL .500... www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._biraax_1 Huntsville Game Log: www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._biraax_1
  2. Final: Omaha (Royals) 8, Nashville 6 Sounds try to come back... Nashville Box Score: Vinny Rottino with another homer. Tim Dillard allows a bunch of base runners---Mitch Stetter not so good, but Alec Zumwalt great. www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._omaaaa_1 Nashville Game Log: Ken Ray shuts the Sounds down in the top of the 8th... www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._omaaaa_1
  3. Final: Lexington (Astros) 9, West Virginia 1 The Streak ends...but man, what a run! West Virginia Box Score: Kenny Holmberg produces the high light of the night. Kenny's way too old for this league, but where do you put him? www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._lexafx_1 West Virgina Game Log: Brae Wright gives up back to back jacks in the first... www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._lexafx_1
  4. Man, Chris Errecart is on fire. I wonder if the Brewers are planning on moving him to AA at the mid point of the season?
  5. Look for a new power 50 and the May edition of farm hops up early sometime next week...
  6. Final: West Virginia 8, Lexington (Astros) 5, 17 innings The Streak Continues - 14! West Virginia Site Game Summary: POWER EXTEND STREAK IN 17 INNING WIN The West Virginia Power extended their winning streak to 14 games after enduring the longest game in the history of Applebees Park with an 8-5 victory over the Lexington Legends in 17 innings on Friday night. Lexington jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on Chris Johnson's sacrifice fly which plated Cesar Quintero and Jimmy Van Ostrand's RBI single. In the fifth inning West Virginia took their first lead of the game on Steve Chapman's grand slam. It was his third homer of the year, and West Virginia's first grand slam of the season. Lexington scored three times in the sixth inning to take the lead back on Johnson's two-run single and Jhon Florentino's run-scoring base hit. In the top of the ninth inning with the bases empty and one out, Andrew Lefave was hit by an 0-2 pitch. Anderson Delarosa pinch ran for Lefave and stole second base. An errant throw from Lexington catcher Ralph Henriquez allowed Delarosa to get to third, and Cesar Quintero's errant throw from center field landed out of play to plate Delarosa and tie the game. There was no scoring at all in the extra frames until Chuckie Caufield led off the 17th inning with his first home run of the season. Chapman ripped an RBI double later in the inning and scored on Taylor Green's double to finish the three-run frame for the Power. West Virginia used seven pitchers altogether. J.T. King (2-0) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the victory. Travis Wendte, Patrick Ryan, Omar Aguilar and E.J. Shanks combined to toss 11 and a third scoreless innings of relief. Cesar Mayora (1-1) was tagged with the loss. The Power improved to 16-3 with the win and the Legends fell to 9-13 with the loss. Caufield and Chapman paced the Power with three hits each, and Chapman drove in five runs. The Power will finish the four game series against Lexington Legends Saturday night. The Power will start left hander Brae Wright (1-0, 4.58) and the Legends will counter with left hander David Qualben (2-1, 2.04). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM (6:05 Central). West Virginia Box Score: In eight relief appearances, the Power's E.J. Shanks has tossed 18 scoreless innings, easily the most overlooked performance of the season within the organization thus far -- he tossed four of those innings in this game; fellow RHP J.T. King has seven scoreless innings in his three relief stints since coming off the D.L.; RHP Roque Mercedes with a much more reasonable effort tonight; what pitching -- Lexington walked only one batter and the Power only three; Anderson Delarosa must be quite the athlete -- sometime outfielder, sometime catcher, pinch-running choice in the 9th... www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._lexafx_1 West Virgina Game Log: Neither team had a baserunner until the bottom of the 4th; closer Omar Aguilar inherits a men on 1st and 2nd, no out jam in the 10th, and goes "K - pop out - K"; amazingly few scoring opportunities in the extra frames... www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._lexafx_1
  7. Had to see this coming...balfour would be in the majors with lots of teams...with the 2007 brewers? AA.
  8. that's why he got the qualifier "about" i gotta admit, i've been pretty skeptical of mike brantley, but he's really playing well right now... and at 20 in Low A, he looks very projectable...
  9. Final: West Virginia 10, Lexington (Astros) 4 The Streak continues! It seems like it was a hundred years ago when people were concerned this team would struggle. Wow. West Virginia Box Score Darren Ford is killing the ball, but I'm sure the team still wants him to cut down on the k's and pick up the walks some...Brent Brewer striking out about 30% of the time, but his stick is playing well, so we can forgive him. On the other hand, Mike Brantley has a 7 to 4 k/bb ratio, and somehow learned to hit for some power, making him about the most productive Brewer farmhand in April... www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._lexafx_1 West Virginia Game Log: The top of the 7th must have been fun to watch... www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._lexafx_1
  10. Final: Brevard County 4, St. Lucie 3 (Mets) Brevard County Box Score: Chris Errecart owns the Florida State League. He's got nothing in front of him at firstbase, so he can advance quickly, until he hits the Prince sized road block in the majors... Lorenzo Cain well above .200 now, and finally with his first extra base hit. www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._sluafa_1 Brevard County Game Log: It's pretty cool to see Jesse Harper's name again... www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._sluafa_1
  11. Final: Birmingham (White Sox) 1, Huntsville 0 Huntsville Box Score: After a quick start, Hernan Irribarren has slumped to .621 OPS. He's actually hit the ball pretty well at home, but he's been beyond dreadful on the road. www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._biraax_1 Huntsville Game Log: Sam Narron allows a lot of runners, but gets out of it. Corey Thurman and Grant Balfour with strong performances. www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._biraax_1
  12. Final: Omaha (Royals)8, Nashville 4 Zach Jack falls victim to the big inning early... Nashville Box Score: Brad Nelson doing everything to prove he's still a potential major league starter. Don't forget that he's only 24---he's no Ryan Howard, Edgar Martinez, or Travis Hafner, but its not unheard of for bit time hitters to emerge mid-20's. www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._omaaaa_1 Nashville game Log: ZachJack undone by a walk to Richard Lewis...which led to a stolen base...which led to a loss.. www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb..._omaaaa_1
  13. he's an awful lot like ben sheets was before he figured out how to hit 96 on the gun..
  14. man, i love will inman
  15. i think theres a bit of overreaction here...he could be fine tomorrow..
  16. Congrats on getting this up and running fellas!
  17. you'll get to see Koby Clemens and Max Sapp as well...
  18. anybody else buy Simcity off the virual console? I've been playing that more than anything else...
  19. Teagarden has been hurt forever and still is.. since you aren't offering them anything of real value, this trade won't hurt the brewers, but i don't really see texas taking it...
  20. Man, expectations for Inman are so high that a 6 inning, two run, 7 strikeout night is considered "not the best" has inman ever had an era over 2?
  21. I think brad nelson has value...not a lot, but some...he's hitting well at AAA as a 24 year old...and he's not on the 40 man, so if he were traded, he wouldn't affect a team's roster until the end of the season... I'm not saying Brad nelson has completely turned it around, but he's still plenty young and talented enough to have a real career in the majors... The smaretest thing the Brewers could do is let him play the full season in AAA, then add him to the 40 man after the season...if he mashes all year, you can trade him then... of course, if he mashes all season, you could let him take Menchkin's roster spot...
  22. amazingly, vinny just collected his first non hr extra base hits of the season... whats in the water lately?
  23. I cant wait to see these guys play in a few weeks...this stuff is making me wonder if brantley has been lifting all winter..
  24. I asked lorenzo cain about this over the winter, and he told me the players dont see it as an issues, or think about it really...
  25. Mike brantley now with more than half the extra base hits he had last year...
