  1. oh hah... i've actually spent the past two months hawking all my snes, genesis and psone title in anticipation of their sudden worthlessness when nintendo and sony start letting people download practically anything for $5 as for the technical gizmodgery, i'll take the ps3...even if the blu-ray doesn't win out in the end, the movies i do buy will look pretty great on my (and your)newpanasonic plasma screens
  2. all the games you mention on xbox live sound alright, but they aren't worth purchasing a 3-400 dollar system for...especially since many are available on other systems or the internet... i'm much more intrigued by the back catalogue on the virtual console on the wii
  3. Mench would be a fine member of the team if he cost a million, but the right handed half of a platoon should never cost 4 million...and it's beginning to look less likely that we will even need a right handed platoon mate...unless he's going to split time with dave roberts...
  4. Trading Brady for nothing gives the brewers his 4 million to spend on Roberts..that cuts a Roberts deal down by about a third in total cost...makes a lot of sense to me...the brewers don't need clark at all...gross is a better hitter and has more potential and hall and hart can both play CF as well..
  5. Ign loved wii sports bowling, tennis, and baseball, was annoyed by golf, and hated boxing...still sounds great to me...a good throw in and a nice warm up for the inevitable mario sports titles that will be infinitly better than wii sports.. they've also got a review up for trauma center and they seem to like it and unless you really like shooting things and playing sports games, the 360 doesn't have much to offer.. i've seen all the arguments, but the games matter the most: of the 100+ titles, i am only interested in playing PGR3 and Viva Pinata...and that's just not enough for me to buy the system...there's already 4-5 wii games i want to get
  6. Clark will go for salary relief and that's about it... the only way the rbewers could get tulo would be with fielder or yo or braun... would you trade our top prospect for hardy and clark?
  7. That would be a fair trade...if the rockies would take Clark's salary, then Roberts becomes more palatable... it appears the brewers intend to enter 2007 with a completely new outfield over what we've seen in the past couple of years...
  8. Schmidt- 15 mil STL Zito- 17 mil NYY Lilly- 9 mil CHC Mulder- 8 mil ATL Molina- 5 mil SDG Roberts- 4 mil MIL Soriano- 20 mil LAA Pierre- 7 mil CHC Nomar- 11 mil SEA Lugo- 10 mil BOS Drew- 14 mil BAL Huff- 7 mil HOU Suppan- 10 mil NYM Meche- 7 mil NYY C. Lee- 16 mil HOU Ratcheted up the numbers and moved a few guys around...I think the Brewers will be forced to sign Roberts for 3 years, but the deal will be 3/12 with an option at 6 million and a 1 million buyout...
  9. It's too bad that these are the names that keep popping up--- if the brewers want a high obp guy, then these are not the player to look at. Wily Mo has a lot in common with hall---and both have the same problems k's and walk rate. I think many of the small ball fans on this site would be irate about wily mo, and the saber guys would say he's overrated If we want a LF, why not Adam Dunn? He's still the best bat available through trade... Or better yet, why not Austin Kearns in CF next year...he's an .850 Ops guy who should hit 25 bombs and have great patience...and the nats are just the team that would take ben hendrickson, TGJ, and Turnbow for him..
  10. .280/.350/.400 with 45/52 sb's for roberts .290/.325/.365 with 55/73 steals for pierre.. these guys play pretty park independent and have been relatively consistant over the past two years, so i expect them to play very close to their careers...roberts has been trending up the last three years with pierre flatlining, but roberts is old, so its not likely he's getting much better... i think they'll be very similar in Batting average and total bases stolen, but Roberts will be better in every other way... Roberts has never had 500 ab's in a season...we really need to remember that when talking money and playing time...he misses time with injuries every year...so the only way the brewers should be considering this guy is as someone that will miss 1/6th of the season at a minimum...
  11. i'm guessing you went for avg annual salary? I'm in, but I won't post my guesses until tommorrow morning...
  12. the probelm with stating that gwynn is the Cf of the future, then signing a guy like roberts to a 3 year 15 million dollar deal is that there is no where for gwynn to play in the majors... if the brewers sign a cfer for 3 years, then whoever they sign is the cfer of the future...not gwynn...i think the fact that the brewers are trying to sign a cfer shows that they do not intend to give the job to gwynn in the near future or ever..
  13. Alou is a Daen taylor signing...good, but no use whatsoever past this year... dougie seems to only give maybe/cheapo guys the one year deals... if we sign someone, i'm sure it'll be to a three year ish deal...so nobody over 38...which sadly eliminates Lofton..and greg maddux
  14. TGJ isnt going to spend 3 or 4 years at AAA...he will either be moved to a team that wants him, or moved into a bench role...he's a college player with 3 years of Minor leagues under his belt...the brewers will do something with him..
  15. and you nailed it...Roberts steals them with great efficiency, Pierre does not...thats a big deal..
  16. I like Dave Roberts a whole lot and I think he would fit the team very well... he gets on base pretty well and he's one of the top 5 basestealers in baseball.. If the brewers can get him for 3 years at 12 million, it'll be a great signing...16 is a little excessive i think.. what about bring scotty po back on a one year deal if the crew cant get any of these other guys?
  17. I think the fact that the brewers are pursuing every Cfer on the market tells us that they have decided to move forth without TGJ, but what does that mean? Will he hang out in AAA? Will he be the 4th/5th outfielder? Will he platoon with someone? or will he be traded? I think he's gonna be traded, and I was wondering what people think he's worth...I think Gwynn could net us a middle reliever or maybe a back of the rotation starter with a decent contract.. what do you think?
  18. the wii game im most interested in is wii sports... i'm not even sure i'll but zelda...i've never been a huge fan...i want the raving rabbids game and maybe excite truck, depending on the reviews.., and i'll be holding out for warioware and mario in 2007.. oh, and i'll probably download toejam and earl for the virtual console..
  19. brian giles is again being mentioned as available, though he has no trade to 4 of the Lower payroll teams, which probably includes the brewers... I'd love to have him...
  20. end--- PS3 will have Granturismo 5 and HD which will be enough to sell a console to me, not to mention platformers like ratchet and clank and the jak series, of which the microsoft products have none.. while the ps3 isn't a great deal, i think people are overstating how much better the 360 is...
  21. i'm trying to finagle one for christmas...gotta get one for my 14 year old bro in law first though..
  22. Rowand's not bad...he's got a good amount of power, but he doesnt walk at all, and if the brewers are hell-bent on getting a lead-off hitter, then rowand isnt the guy...
  23. when people talk about his SLG%, they are talking about the triples, because that's all he's got in the power department... pierre is very exciting to watch, but i'd rather not have him on the team..
  24. the only way he makes sense is if it is for jenkins or mench...maybe both... he was jamey wright in a brewers uniform bad last year...and he hasnt been above average since 2004.
  25. or, in case you don't know... www.rotoworld.com which is generally pretty great and quick about summarizing newspaper articles..
