  1. yup...rogers and jones were both known for smooth deliveries... this definitely sets mark back, but he's a great guy and a huge talent, so i'll be rooting for him... manny parra's come back more than once now, and chris capuano survived tommoy john before he broke, so never say never..
  2. he'd probably consider pitching in Uganda if they offered enough cash...
  3. dukes isnt cancerous...he's insane.
  4. he doesnt walk enough and he's spent 4 seasons in A+...he's not a prospect at all...he might be useful in AA, but he won't be around long enough to hit the majors....since he was a minor league free agent, the brewers will have to resign him after each season, or add him to the 40 man..
  5. i'd love every moment of bonds in milwaukee...
  6. jenkins + turnbow+ prospect might = Crisp+ something over priced...
  7. we discussed reed quite a lot early in the offseason, and the concensus seemed to be that while he was talented in the minors, we have a buncha young guys with potential who just havent put it together...so while most everyone would take him, i don't think anyone wanted to trade something useful for him or stick him in the lineup...
  8. i hate christmas music.... so, i'm in hell right now
  9. wouldn't be surprised if garry had cousin's named greg and mike, but i wouldn't know for sure...
  10. i think the bullpen would sort itself out nicely if cappellan was gone... villanueva would be a pretty big hit right now, but there are defnitely other prospects who could succeed as well...we've gotten a really small sample of Carlos V.
  11. Baldelli's power really jumped last year...which is a great sign going forward... I'd love to have this guy, and i think the price suggested is not a bad deal at all...plus, if he carries an .870 ops and hits .300, his contract will make him one of the best deals in baseball seriously, 2011??? What was his agent thinking?
  12. I would make the baldelli trade very quickly myself...he's still really young---25 or so and he's flashed brilliance in the past...getting him for a that group of pitchers would be pretty fair...thought he brewers will desperately need another SP after the trade...
  13. looks good man... maybe Crew over Ezi as backup outfielder in AA
  14. I can see the logic there, but it had better be a gorss/mench platoon at the least...the total production from mench/hall/hart in 2007 will probably be very similar to the total production of lee/jenkins/clark/mench/gross/hart last year, so this doesn't make the team better in the slightest
  15. I really don't want horacio ramirez...his k/bb rate is like 1...the last guy we had that did thta was jamey wright... ramirez is a time bomb...someday soon, he'll go from being ok, to being unbelievably bad...and i'd prefer it not be for the brewers..
  16. Blanton has been very good and is cheap... would you trade capuano for jenkins and jackson, because thats close to what you are suggesting..
  17. it will take way more than what you suggested to get him...
  18. Well, Lugo is looking for a 4 year deal in the 36 Million dollar range...supposedly, the Cubs are looking at him as a Cfer couldn't the crew do the same? he's got a better stick than any of the other options we've seen, and other than a lousy stretch in LA, he hasnt shown regression...plus he's younger by 3 years than roberts...so he'd only be 34 at the end of a 4 year deal... i'm not necessarily calling for this, just thought he was an interesting name...
  19. Vernon Wells and Billy hall were very very similar offensively this year, and Hall was better in 2005... I think the people who are lining up to pay Wells 17 million a year are insane...and hall is every bit as good with the stick...the only difference is batting average, and wells doesnt walk, so their OBP's are very close trading 3 years of hall for one year of wells would be a cubs move...do we want to be the cubs? edit: and billy is a year younger than wells... i'm pretty convinced that wells isnt right for this team..
  20. if those numbers were spot on, i think the brewers would be .500 though i think those are pretty pessimistic...Carlos V's line looks pretty good for a rookie...and Vargas matches up with Davis very well...
  21. i think the eyeroll was at your assertion that sheets has injury issues...
  22. why would you trade our best player, who we have signed for 3 years, for a guy that isn't noticeably better and is about to be a free agent?
  23. Graffanino is gonna look at the brewers and not like what he sees...someone will eventually sign the guy, though he should probably consider firing his agent... even if he accepts arby, the brewers will trade him... i'm beginning to think that people don't like this guy...thats the only reason i can think of for him just being dumped by the red sox last year...
  24. about 3 hours...though its really nice there in the spring time... shane's wearing a yankees hat, so even if he makes it all the way, i doubt he'll have anything to do with the brewers...hehe
  25. I work at UNCG---the kid's name is shane thompson...he's a freshman...i found him at the world woodbat championship site...apparently he doesnt have a profile at perfect game.. edit: can you search High point NC for me, i also work at a high school there..i'm a busy dude..
