  1. The more I thought about this over the weekend, the more I believe that Braun does have a decent amount of trade value. I don't see how a guy who has put up pretty decent offensive seasons who is under contract for years (and thus cost-controlled) at a pretty reasonable AAV considering the uptick in salaries, wouldn't bring back a decent return. I can think of at least a dozen teams right now that would most definitely benefit from having Braun in their line-up. If I am Stearns, I am in no rush to trade him and would wait for a team to offer a pretty decent return.
  2. What proof do you have of this? Other guys, who are not as good as Braun have been suspended and have came back and found teams with no problems. I agree with this and can think of many examples off the top of my head.
  3. Are we really thinking that this contract is that outrageous given what some guys are getting now in free agency?
  4. I didn't see this posted anywhere else so feel free to move it if I missed something. Original Milwaukee Brewer Gus Gil unfortunately passed away this week (12/08/15) at the age of 76. Gil played for the Brewers in 1970-1971 as a second baseman and was also on the original Seattle Pilots team before they moved to Milwaukee to become the Brewers. I am too young to have seen Gil or anyone else from that era play but it's always sad to lose guys who put on a Brewers uniform. RIP Gus. https://deadfamous.info/gus-gil-venezuelan-baseball-player-died-at-76
  5. I think that some people severely overrated Lind's value. I also think that Lind could have been much more valuable at the deadline when contending teams are desparate.
  6. Awful.... just awful. I guess I didn't expect much back for Lind during the offseason but wow. We should have just held onto an affordable piece like Lind and dealt him at the deadline.
  7. In my mind Davis is a huge overpay for Bundy not just because of the injury concerns that come with Bundy (that is huge though) but simply because I think that other GM's will drastically overvalue Davis when and if he is put on the market. At the end of the day all that really matters is what other GM's think he's worth.
  8. I went on Friday night and wasn't terribly impressed with selection. Found a few decently priced hoodies which were all a size too small and ended up not buying anything at all. It was however nice to be back at the stadium. Even though it has only been a little over two months since the end of the Brewers season it seems like its been way longer already.
  9. Any ideas on times? For some reason I can't find it on the Brewers website.
  10. FWIW, what you are saying you hope is long behind us was our last playoff team and our first decent chance at a World Championship since 1982. I would not mind having more teams like the 2011 Brewers at any point in the near term.
  11. Next up Adam Lind?
  12. Does anyone with a bit more insight on Flanagan care to chime in? Curious as to people's thoughts on this move.
  13. Mass, Per usual this board owes you a big thank you for vigilantly keeping this thread going throughout the off-season. It is much appreciated.
  14. Maybe they coax Suppan out of retirement and he is an all-star this season.
  15. Any speculation as to causes? That is WAY too young to be having catastrophic organ failure.
  16. Boog still runs a great bbq stand that I very happily patronized last time I was at Camden Yards.
  17. Dude, is that a Brew Crew Review avatar picture?
  18. I am all for this move. Worst case scenario we have a good hitting first baseman at a reasonable salary. Best case we unload him for prospects and get something decent back in return.
  19. I wonder how this guy feels today? I would be kind of curious to get an update. http://www.ncaatop25.com/auction.htm
  20. Tough game last night for NY. Puts in perspective how quickly the ebb and flow of baseball really is with Murphy being such a stud during the NLCS against the Cubs but perhaps costing his team last night and being the goat in Game 5 of the World Series.
  21. That's really cool feedback BCF. Sounds like it was a great event. Despite the team on the field likely not being much good next year stuff like this makes me interested in looking into a season ticket package as well.
  22. What a great start to the World Series last night. I am looking forward to this being a really fun series regardless of the outcome.
  23. This video is pretty funny and paints Murphy in a humorous light. He was the manager for the Padres AAA team when this occurred:
  24. Maybe I'm blind but I didn't think that the calls were THAT bad.
