Braun an All Star? (Latest: He's in...see post #43)
DocLuna7 replied to The stache's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I think that the story about Braun will definitely be overshadowed by the story about Pete Rose being on an MLB field again and on national TV. Pete Rose is the all-time hit king. He is the story this week outside of the game itself. -
So I have been waiting to ask this for the last few of his starts.... but how did Jungmann have such poor numbers in the minors? I am sure that there is still a decent chance that these first seven starts could be a fluke but he is really fun to watch and I love how he pounds the zone and works smartly on the mound.

Seems like yesterday but.... it's not. Points to him for some persistence.

Facebook is apparently mining your phone records and/or text messages
DocLuna7 replied to LouisEly's topic in Off-Topic Forum
This should absolutely not be a surprise to anyone. FB was not started as a beneficent charity to allow you to reconnect with old classmates. It is data mining pure and simple and it is a HUGE business. Anyone who posts anything online with any expectation of privacy has been sorely misled. -
I was there.... also one of my favorite games ever. What a night of optimism for the future of the franchise that evening.

Absolutely awesome picture of Colon. Thank you for posting that.

I guess my other response was inappropriate for the board.... in any event, what a tragedy and I am absolutely shocked.
-
Time for a new front office since our current one apparently couldn't see the writing on the wall after last season's epic collapse.
-
I have heard nothing about Herrera clearing waivers or being claimed by another team..... does anyone know his status?
-
Also, we lost.

Count me as incredibly frustrated with the supposedly serviceable defense of Martin Maldonado.

Yikes, I knew it hadn't been a good month but didn't realize until BA just mentioned it that Braun is hitting .203 in the month of June.
-
Legally that's not exactly true. Logistically, it would be even more of a challenge and a ridiculous waste of time. Oddly ironic and pretty hysterical that ARod's 3000th hit is caught by a guy like the Happy Youngster on steroids. What are the odds??

If you are into history at all the Harry Truman Presidential Library isn't too far away in Independence, Missouri.

We are back on for some baseball!!

These forums are not exactly buzzing tonight, lol.

I am opposed and think it is a bit of well-intentioned overkill. You cannot protect everyone from everything all the time, and I think that the downside of having a net spanning across the length of the stands on both sides would definitely outweigh and take away from the other aesthetically pleasing parts of being close at a baseball game.

Since this move doesn't seem to make a ton of sense, perhaps the powers that be in baseball operations are just trying to win in random Brewers trivia. By appearing in today's game, Hernan Perez becomes the 6th Perez to ever play for the Brewers, leading all last names. 1. Eddy Perez (2003) 2. Danny Perez (1996) 3. Robert Perez (2001) 4. Juan Perez (2013) 5. Santiago Perez (2000) 6. Hernan Perez (2015) The Perez sextet has overtaken the five members of Team Reynolds: 1. Ken Reynolds (1973) 2. Mark Reynolds (2014) 3. Archie Reynolds (1972-1973) 4. Bob Reynolds (1971) 5. Tom Reynolds (1972) Congrats to Hernan and the 2015 Brewers for finding new and original ways to keep me entertained.....

And there goes that little slimmer of momentum after the 17 inning game against Arizona and the nice 1-0 win against StL in Game 1.

He's out until Sunday?!? What the... So the bench is weakened by one other guy for four games?? This is the kind of stuff that drives me nuts.

Shane Peterson promoted to Brewers; Cravy optioned to AAA
DocLuna7 replied to brewmann04's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
For those of you keeping score at home, by my count since the Detroit series it has been: Segura to DL- Jimenez up Scooter down- Knebel up Peralta to DL- Goforth up Kintzler to the DL- Segura back Davis to the DL- Wagner up Lucroy back- Centeno down Wagner down- Cravey up Herrera out- Perez up Cravey down- Peterson up I think I got it. Been a busy few weeks. -
Mark and I have a complicated relationship and our breakup was difficult. I think it's time to move on though. Lol.... good form.

JJ- Your hatred of the Cardinals is noted and appreciated but you have a heart around someone starting for them tonight...

That is strange, and I think you've solved it. I didn't bother to cross check this with any other site. Thanks AndThat!

So I keep thinking I am missing something. Since I am a little slow this morning, can someone else please take a look at this and tell me why this roster is at 24? http://www.thebaseballcube.com/teams/teamPage.asp?T=16&Page=Roster Smith is still active on this officially, and I assume Centeno will be replaced by Lucroy at some point today. I have counted this up several times and keep getting 24 guys besides the ones that are injured. What am I missing?
