  1. Even though we lost tonight, I have really enjoyed seeing some of our younger guys play over the past few weeks. Also, belated Happy Robin Yount 3000th hit anniversary to everyone.
  2. I am too young to remember seeing him pitch, but oddly enough, my dad and I were just talking about him a few weeks ago. I mentioned in one of my usual rants about the Cardinals how much I hated that organization and he told me that it was even bad in '82. He mentioned Andujar specifically as being a guy that our fans hated that WS and that he almost got into with Jim Gantner at one point. RIP to him, obviously these are just recollections from thirty plus years ago. I am sure he was a decent guy off the field.
  3. I just went to SF and Oakland for the first time this season. Oakland is a dump but still puts a checkmark in the visited column. SF is a blast and I will go again. Haven't been to the other offerings next year will have (Seattle, LAD, SD) so a western trip might be in my future too. Go Brewers! My brother did the SF/OAK trip for his honeymoon and said that exact same thing. He mentioned that OAK kind of reminded of him of County Stadium a bit as well. Either way, I love taking in new parks regardless of how "good" or "bad" the park actually is for locals who go all the time.
  4. This being released today kind of makes me want to schedule a CA road trip to visit some stadiums I haven't been too yet. A few weeks after this miserable 2015 season ends I will be stoked for next season to start already.
  5. No offense to anyone, but I can't imagine this being a reason to go to a game if you weren't already going.
  6. Call me biased, but I never thought that the current incarnation of Busch Stadium in StL deserves to be ranked in the top tier of MLB stadiums. I was very underwhelmed and full of blahs in the four or five games that I have attended there over the years.
  7. Perhaps a sign that the team will not be trotting him out there every five days in 2016?
  8. Cool scenario, but I think it's still a perfect game as well. No one reached base. I think that's the bottom line.
  9. I disagree that he profiles as a bullpen type. His lack of high velocity overpowering stuff coupled with his mechanics definitely make it seem like he's got the distance to go longer into games. We might be wasting his talent in the pen.
  10. The crowd was dismal tonight. Announced as a bit over 18k but looked more like 12k to me. And that was on a night that had free BP tickets for the terrace level. Kind of cool to see ARam get a bit of some deserved applause after his HR in the 8th though.
  11. I'm going to the game tonight and am really hoping to see Santana rock a 450 foot HR off of Cole.
  12. This was done up until 1968; April rosters were set at 28. Going back to the 1950s and earlier, I believe April rosters were even larger. I did not know that.
  13. Ah, ok. Must have forgotten his exact position on that. Either way, he does seem to call up fewer guys than I would personally like to see for a team that isn't in contention. To me it's an ideal time to see what some of the guys in the minors can do and to get them some MLB experience.
  14. I must have missed that piece. Do you have a link to that?
  15. Yeah, I am for passing on Jack Z's return trip to Milwaukee. I guess if they want to give him a job in the scouting department I would be ok with that, but not replacing Montgomery or as the next GM.
  16. Totally agree. A guy of Dominican heritage who grows up in Milwaukee or some other place in the US is much more likely to adopt American norms (since he would be an American after all) as opposed to guys who are actually from the Dominican Republic.
  17. Did anyone else see Wily kind of weirdly walking off the field after one of his innings tonight? Like he was starting something or someone down, only there wasn't anything going on. It was really, really weird unless I was just seeing things.
  18. Peralta obviously has something wrong with him. CC needs to get him out now before he really injures himself.
  19. You are absolutely correct to point this out and IIRC, DM has even gone so far as to not only state it publicly but to ask that MLB change the rules so that teams can't bring up 40 guys. Personally, I think we should call up as many guys as possible and see if anyone can do anything interesting over the final month of the season.
  20. Not sure if this is suppose to be blue but Harrison, Lara, Medeiros are all 17-19 and not above low A ball.... If we were to do this now, we'd be selling extremely low on them, have to give each 2 more seasons at least before they start to assert themselves as legit top prospects that they have potential to be Pretty sure that was meant as sarcasm.
  21. Respectfully, I think trading away a 22 year old player who nearly wins the Triple Crown the very next season trumps a no hitter as being the most "Brewers thing ever." LOL, but we got Mieske!!!
  22. Do you believe that we land those all four of those prospects from Houston without Mike Fiers in that deal?
  23. I'm not furious because I understand that the Brewers value the six years of team control over four of the Astros best prospects whose prime should roughly coincide with when we start to become good again. That strategy makes much more sense to me than keeping around a very good pitcher in Fiers during years where we won't be able to compete much anyways and who will be regressing when our window opens again.
  24. There is always the possibility that a trade was made that would truly benefit both sides.
  25. As others have stated, very happy for Fiers. Seems like a great guy.
