  1. Alright, so just to make sure I have this correct: Wagner was called up and replaced Davis Cravy was called up to replace Wagner Lucroy still has to be activated and Smith is about to get suspended so we have a 24 man roster for the duration of his suspension.
  2. Hmmm well I can't think of a lot of reasons: 1. You need to get up and stretch for whatever reason. 2. Takes HALF an inning. 3. Your kids are being little brats and need to walk around. 4. Brewers are playing like garbage and want to get something for your money. 5. You really were excited for it. 6. The people next to you are driving you nuts. Yep, this. I am as die-hard as you can get, but I happened to go to the game yesterday with my dad who has had major back surgery. He literally cannot sit for more than a couple of innings before his back starts to really act up and he needs to walk around. Generally if we go (he usually goes about twice a year because of the sitting issue) we will walk around where we can still see the game and just sort of stand in different spots. Yesterday however, since the game was bad and the walkways were full of people wearing Princess Leia and storm trooper outfits, we thought that perhaps it would have been a good time to check it out. He had been at the first game ever at County Stadium as a high school kid and the exhibit brought back some good memories for him. I was glad to get a better memory with him than simply a loss against the Diamondbacks.
  3. So my guess is that Wagner replaces Davis on the active roster today, and then we have to make another move tomorrow with a bullpen arm in order to get another outfielder here in time for the game in St Louis on Monday?
  4. Believe it.
  5. I did it at the game this afternoon and thought it was pretty cool. The technology behind it is pretty amazing, a bit on par with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, IL for those of you who've been there. I learned a few new things, though it wasn't quite as comprehensive as I had perhaps expected. They are also surprisingly scant on Selig's tenure as commissioner, though I guess that the emphasis on a Selig display at Miller Park will definitely be more focused on his direct links to the franchise. Overall it was good. I can definitely envision (and hope that someone from the organization is listening) a Brewers Hall of Fame being built in this space in the future with the Selig Experience being a major theme instead of just a stand-alone thing. It is however definitely worth the time to go and check it out, especially considering the product on the field this season. And oh yeah, they had groups of 20-25 or so continuously being rotated into the exhibit throughout the game. Not sure when the cut-off is, but I went at the end of the 4th inning and was out midway through the 5th.
  6. Let's see if the Wagner call up is an indicator of things to come or if they will go for the same old mentality and call up Schafer. Should be very interesting.
  7. I think that there is a significant element of the fan-base that has already checked out, including people who are diehard enough to be posting regularly on a Brewers fan site. I am definitely not checked out, partially because I love the team and probably mostly because I love the game, but there is also something to be said for watching how this drama unfolds. This team, if it keep to its current pace, could be epic in its ineptitude. The Brewers PR machine will have a very, very difficult time explaining this as they have tried to do in seasons recently passed (injuries, snake-bitten, Scooter really can hit lefties numbers be damned, etc.) and I am sort of looking forward to the consequences of a season this bad. Hopefully something clicks and we can have decent baseball here again sometime in the next few seasons.
  8. I think this is a really good thread and hope it won't get shut down. I also agree with you that DM's time is up and we need some new blood making personnel decisions with this franchise. That being said, what exactly will a boycott accomplish? I am as frustrated as anyone with this year's team and the overall direction of the franchise. I agree with you that some major heads need to roll and that this organization needs to completely refocus its mentality on everything from drafting to marketing. That being said, I still go to just about every game. Bad team or not, there are simply few things that I find so enjoyable as watching a baseball game. I could definitely stand to end some of the gimmicky predictable (and I would say corporate-esque) stuff that caters to the average casual fan which goes on at Brewers games these days but other than that I have enjoyed myself at the yard this season despite the product on the field.
  9. Wooten Outrighted to AAA. Last sentence of this article: http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/127289606/tyler-wagner-reported-to-start-sunday-for-brewers Thanks. Very sleepily read the call-up news last night. I really like this move and am anxious to see what we might have from a kid who looks like he has some real upside.
  10. Did I miss the corresponding move on who is being sent down? I thought that Peralta's roster spot after putting him on the DL went to Goforth?
  11. I am as big a Brewers fan as there possibly is but I don't think there is any way whatsoever that this team will have, or deserves to have, two all-stars.
  12. Thanks Nate. This is unfortunate for the pen.
  13. Have we determined whether or not Smith can be replaced on the 25 man roster for the games he ends up being suspended? IIRC, when MLB suspended Pineida from the Yankees for his incident a year or two ago, they had to play with a 24 man roster for those 10 games.
  14. I am pretty sure that Brandon Kintzler has outlived his usefulness to us here in Milwaukee.
  15. Braun has been looking really solid the past few weeks (at least in terms of the eye-test). That is very good to see.
  16. http://m.padres.mlb.com/news/article/124808694/original-padre-ollie-brown-dead-at-71 Former 1972-1973 Brewer outfielder Ollie Brown has apparently unfortunately passed away from complications due to mesothelioma. Brown hit a consistent .280 in his two seasons as a Brewer before being traded away in a multiplayer deal to the Angels. RIP Ollie.
  17. Agreed. At this point I think we just need to throw anyone up here on our AAA roster or sign some random. It couldn't be much worse.
  18. Salty is signed with the DBacks yesterday guys.... just an FYI.
  19. Can we please DL Gomez and Aramis if they are not healthy enough to play? I am so tired of going into games without our starting lineup on the field and with a bench that is weakened and depleted due to nagging injuries. Make a decision that a guy is healthy and put him on the field or make the decision that a guy is injured, DL him, and get someone up here on the big league roster to take his place.
  20. Thank you for the head's up on this. Was assuming I would only be able to listen on the radio until I read your post. Much appreciated.
  21. Well I am one of the approximately ten people who was at the game tonight.... great game though, nice to see a little bit of offensive life even if most of it came in one inning early on.
