  1. And our cleanup hitter stares with bat on shoulder at strike 3 with a runner on.
  2. Do we have any faith that we might be able to come back down two in the late innings of a game this year?
  3. The reaction to the Lind HR and the crowd's reaction to the Davis catch were the first ounces of positive emotion I have seen out of the team so far this season.
  4. I didn't realize it was a curveball. I was at the game in person last night and didn't have the benefit of seeing a replay on tv. My overall point was that if a pitcher from an opposing team goes up and in that we should not respond with a "whatever" attitude. Whether or not RR was correct last night, it has unfortunately become way to easy to assume that the Brewers will not do anything to retaliate against other teams. The dreaded TLR and the Cards in '11 proved my point many times over that season and unfortunately, I don't think much has changed.
  5. Braun is out again tonight (Wednesday).
  6. I played for a long time, and agree with you 3and2. They did mean to go up and inside on Segura, if not to hit him directly in the face. Either way, you stand up for your guys and they will not be throwing up and in again any time soon. Not having enough chutzpah is at the top of the list in terms of RR's managerial flaws in my opinion.
  7. Wow, unbelievable news. Only 34 years old and an apparent heart attack. It seems like it was just yesterday that he was pitching for us. http://www.espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/12645170/jose-capellan-former-mlb-pitcher-dies-age-34-apparent-heart-attack
  8. Good to see you Brian. Thanks for stopping by and for making Brewerfan the site that it is. Still waiting for Getpaddled......
  9. And..... per MJS he is not in the starting lineup for the game tonight against COL.
  10. I just logged on to come and post a similar thread. Happy Opening Day everyone..... Outside of jumping on one conference call today I will not even be thinking about work for the duration of the day. Go Brewers!
  11. He could also be an option as a RH at 1B I guess I hadn't realized how bad Quentin's numbers got last season, but I still like him as a possible upgrade on the bench. Likely to be a cheap pick-up at this point.
  12. Yes. Knowingly signing a four year contract worth $54m under false pretenses. At least MIN can save some money this way.
  13. Yeah, I saw that too. I am still really concerned about our seeming lack of any type of power whatsoever coming off the bench though.
  14. Cool post... thanks man. I haven't been to spring training since '06 and am way overdue.
  15. I absolutely agree RockCo.... it has been one of my longest standing traditional gripes about DM and how he compiles a team, at least the last several seasons. I like Parra as our fourth outfielder and appreciate the fact that he plays outstanding D without killing you offensively. I am fine with Maldy as a more than serviceable backup catcher as well. Outside of that though call me completely underwhelmed especially for an area of the team that we could be taking flyers on a lot of guys for relatively cheap.
  16. Keep fighting Brewcrewdude..... Here's to wishing you all the best.
  17. Tough time for agents trying to find roster spots, even for former closers. Teams have little roster space available. Things will open up as they always do. Yep, agreed. I am guessing that you can pretty much count on some type of injury to someone in the pen at some point during April.
  18. Let's hope it's not Kevin Correia.
  19. I live about ten minutes south of the Country Springs Hotel as well. Perhaps that should be our Brewerfan winter meetings destination next year, lol.
  20. Thanks Homer. It was definitely GetPaddled that I was thinking of. Has anyone heard from him? Oh yeah, banned names.... brewcityunit
  21. Al's Ramblings is definitely still up and running. Just checked it a few days ago actually. Someone refresh my memory.... who was the poster who always bragged about the seriously epic amounts of alcohol he drank and told everyone his scandalous alcohol fueled stories?
  22. Yes I am. Battlekow, where are you? That is really, really, awesome.
