  1. I'm going to be extremely upset if Villanueva doesn't start this year. What more does this have to do to prove himself? Dave Bush should not be starting over him.
  2. not that there's anything wrong with that! (pared back quote --1992)
  3. Does anyone have any idea when those go on sale? Will they go on sale when single tickets for the regular season go on sale? Late March is not that far off and I want to make sure I can get tickets to one or both of the Royals games.
  4. I thought Stetter was pretty good last year and I would be comfortable with him as our 2nd LOOGY.
  5. this is outstanding news. it was rough when i'd watch one of the Saturday Fox Brewer games and then watch an FSN game on Sunday or Monday afterward. HD is so much better... I can't wait!
  6. A television show has never made me so upset. I've put enough of my time into this show that I cannot stop watching it, but I've thought it sucked since a few episodes into season 2. It's horrible. I am guessing that these 8 episodes they're airing were done before the strike even happened, so maybe they didn't know what the situation would be when the first one aired... but tonight was a chance for them to really bring home the bacon. There is NO COMPETITION on TV right now, everyone is watching, and they could've brought in new viewers as well as brought back hope from the doubters. They did not take advantage. Same old Lost. The show continues to bury viewers with more questions while not actually providing any answers to the millions of old questions raised in the past. Not to mention that if you really think about it... NOTHING HAPPENS ON THIS SHOW. It was an hour long and they walked around a little bit and made a phone call or two. Nothing happened. Nothing. Horrible. I'm upset.
  7. I get free lunch everyday and it has changed my life.
  8. Thanks, guys. We would actually be leaving Chicago on either Memorial Day 5/26, or 5/27, or 5/28. My traveling buddy has a wedding he is in on Sunday 5/25... which really sucks because I found a ticket for $502 if we were to leave on 5/25 through Virgin Atlantic. Their "deals to London" stop right after 5/25 though http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif I'll check those other websites out, thanks for the help.
  9. around Memorial Day... give or take a few days. Probably from Chicago since I don't think Milwaukee goes direct to London. Anyone have any good websites for me to keep an eye on to try and get a flight that does not cost me $800-900?
  10. Agreed, Parra would be a great replacement for Sheets in 09. Gallardo, Villanueva, Suppan, Parra, Bush/Cappy/somebody.
  11. He has no point. It's just a full on mancrush and that doesn't constitute as an argument. Villanueva has done everything that Parra has done at the Major League level, and more, and at a younger age.
  12. You think Parra has earned a spot in the rotation but Villanueva hasn't? Please explain your logic.
  13. So the guys you don't have on the list are going to be in the minors to start the year? I agree on Parra... I would love to have him as our "Villanueva of this year", long relief and spot starting when needed. I think he's too good to leave in the minors again.
  14. 1 Sheets 2 Gallardo 3 Villanueva 4 Suppan 5 Capuano 6 Parra 7 Bush 8 Vargas 9 Riske 10 Torres 11 Gagne 12 Moto 13 Stetter 14 Shouse 15 Choate 16 McClung 17 Turnbow I think only a few of these guys have minor league options, so it's likely that more than one is going to go.
  15. I can't see Capuano, Bush, and Vargas all being here a month from now... so what are we going to get in return? A bench player or two and prospects? I don't see what else we really need. I, too, would love to sign Ensberg as a bench player. Also, I can't see us keeping all of our relievers either... we just have way too many pitchers right now. What's going to happen? *EDIT* Sorry, this probably belongs in the trade thread? Can someone move it there?
  16. I used to smoke Swisher Streets when I was in high school.
  17. please take vargas. please.
  18. I read and understood the original post, I just have had that question brewing for awhile, sorry to change the topic. Thanks for the answer, Al.
  19. Can someone explain to me why people talk about how they want a lefthander in the rotation? I've never understood that. Why would you want a lefty in the rotation?
  20. although that trade looks pretty fair, i sure don't want us to lose Villanueva.
  21. yep. I never missed a thursday/friday/saturday night in 1999 or 2000 and Busch Light was the crappy beer of choice for house parties all over the east side. Just awful.
  22. I am not familiar with the National. What kind of music?
  23. your dorm friend is the key, my friend. he will take you to the promised land (which is most likely a dingy basement with plastic cups of busch light and young girls).
  24. http://www.mkeonline.com/graphics/mke/img/sep07/0920cover_200.jpg http://www.mkeonline.com We're on the cover of MKE Magazine this week, which is kinda cool. We've never been on the cover of anything before. And the show went really really well, it was a total blast. Thanks to anyone that made it out from the Milwaukee area, we appreciate it and had a great time.
  25. I would befriend the guy that lives in the dorm and start hanging out there on thur/fri/saturday nights. The dorms is where all the action happens and how you're going to hear about the parties. I agree with the people that said party it up. Obviously you need to do what you have to do to get by, but GPAs do not matter. I don't remember my cumulative GPA, but I know it wasn't good. I would guess about a 2.4. If you've ever read any of those "best companies in Milwaukee to work for" articles... I ended up getting a job at one of the ones that is always in the top 3. Take that for what it's worth... I'm 26 and I have a great job and I don't see myself leaving the company I work for EVER. Just make sure you don't get kicked out of school and have a blast.
