  1. I feel kind of bad for that lady. She obviously needs a bit of help from time to time and CC was kind enough to assist her. Perhaps the apartment manager could help her out? Also, how do you think that reporter was able to get that conversation? That's just nutty.
  2. I don't know, but it was said that the Brewers had a team working on CC Tshirts before the deal got done in anticipation of the trade. They should be available for this evening's game according to the press confrence. No mention of quantity though.
  3. I think he'll be hitting lead off after the break and that.
  4. And That Count= 3,256 Sabathia is apparently pretty pumped about getting to Milwaukee. Melvin said that CC could have asked for a day or two off and that, but is on a plane and headed to Milwaukee getting ready and that to pitch on Tuesday.
  5. This may be a dumb question, and it may have been answered earlier, but who moves to make room for Sabathia? Apparently CC T shirts are available for tomorrow. They will be around tonight at the park.
  6. Press Release: BREWERS ACQUIRE C.C. SABATHIA Send Three Minor Leaguers and a Player to be Named to Cleveland for 2007 American League Cy Young Award Winner MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers today acquired LHP C.C. Sabathia from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for OF Matt LaPorta, LHP Zach Jackson, RHP Rob Bryson and a player to be named. Sabathia will wear uniform #52 when he joins the Brewers. The announcement was made by Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Melvin. "The acquisition of C.C. is a credit to all of the fan support that this organization has enjoyed over the last few years," said Melvin. "Without their support, we would not be in a position to acquire a pitcher of this caliber. This addition to our ballclub is also a credit to our great scouting and player development departments led by Jack Zduriencik and Reid Nichols. Without their expertise, we would not have produced the kind of talented players needed to make a deal of this magnitude. We also could not have made this deal without the undying support of our ownership." Sabathia, 27, owns a career record of 106-71 with a 3.83 ERA in 237 starts over eight seasons with the Indians. He is a three-time All-Star (2003-04, 2007) and has pitched in the postseason twice (2001 and 2007). Since making his debut in 2001, he is among the Major League leaders in both wins (T10th, 106 - T5th among lefthanders) and strikeouts (5th, 1,265 - 3rd among lefthanders). He recorded at least 11 victories in each of his first seven seasons. "C.C. is one of the top pitchers in the game today," said Melvin. "His addition to the starting rotation will be a major key in helping the team reach its ultimate goal of going to the postseason and beyond." Sabathia is 6-8 with a 3.83 ERA in 18 starts this season. He currently leads the American League in strikeouts (123) and strikeouts per 9.0 innings (9.0) while ranking second in innings pitched (122.1) and tied for second in complete games (3). Since April 22 he is 6-5 with a 2.16 ERA in 14 starts (104.1ip, 25er). His ERA since April 22 ranks third in the Major Leagues. He has tossed 10 quality starts this season and has produced five double-digit strikeout performances, including three in a row from June 15-27. Sabathia is coming off his best season after winning the 2007 American League Cy Young Award. He went 19-7 with a 3.21 ERA in 34 starts last season. His 241.0 innings pitched led the Major Leagues. He was also among the American League leaders in complete games (2nd, 4), wins (T2nd, 19), winning percentage (T3rd, .731) and strikeouts (5th, 209). Carsten Charles "C.C." Sabathia was born on July 21, 1980 in Vallejo, CA. He and his wife, Amber, have a son named Carsten Charles III and a daughter named Jaeden.
  7. Looks as if FOX6 News will carry the press confrence.
  8. 1250 WSSP will carry the press conference live. You can hear it on their link.
  9. I've glanced over this thread again and have not seen it mentioned so I'm asking: Anyone know the general consensus from Cards/Cubs fans about this trade? They should be afraid. Very afraid. The Brewers are not done yet either. I am confident there is more to come.
  10. never a doubt in my mind. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  11. Nedly: "Well Bushie, ya threw a heck of a ball game. Very nice. Ya looked good out there. Now I'm putting Gagne out there." Bush: ? (you fill it in)
  12. The incomplete part of the score sheet was my fault. I got pretty angry and simply lost track of hitters and then gave up entirely.
  13. I have your bat. My bat is obviously broken. I gotta admit, that is the most angry I have ever gotten about a softball game. Sorry. I even yelled at the other team.
  14. I'm finally here. I've been following along for the thread and some great points have been made. At first, I was not too pumped up about what we would give up for Sabathia, but I've turned the corner and am leaning towards just about anything to get him here. I'd rather not see any pitching leave for pitching in return, and since hitters are easier to come by, I think I'm ok with saying good bye to LaPorta. I am hesitant about the rental part only because it seems as if a few months of CC -plus- a couple prospects is not quite as golden as it appears. To me, we get set back a couple of seasons. LaPorta is about ready and whom ever goes along with him will be close as well. Two draft picks will be well behind developmentally and therefore, unable to help fill voids left by Fielder, and anyone else we don't resign. It was brought up only a few posts ago that Sheets, CC. and Parra would be pretty devastating for hitters to face especially considering two of those guys are lefties. I agree and almost salivate over the idea of going to a home stand and seeing those three all in a row.
  15. Brian- I just watched your football video and then the breakin' and poppin' video. I'm going to go clip my toe nails now.
  16. Run your buns off.
  17. I'm in of course. I'll be leaving shortly. Sorry I didn't post earlier about the game. I've been insanely busy with stuff around the house lately. No time at night.
  18. When I log out of Yuku, I get taken to different sites as well. Nike Talk is a common one.
  19. Not $39. I walked in with around $40, bought a pitcher, played dice, won absolutely no money, and left with around $12 or so. Actually a rather good week. I consider it a victory of sorts when I don't lose -all- of my cash.
