  1. Actually, we did have the lead for a bit. We went up one run around the third or fourth inning.
  2. In a 9 on 9 game, we fell a bit short in the runs scored department. All in all, it was a well played game by both sides, and quite a bit of fun. Church of Christ now faces a playoff next week against Don's Pub, another fine team. I wish both teams luck for next week. Brewerfan's bats came back to life for the final game of 2008 as we put 10 runs on the board and had quite a few nice hits.
  3. I still think that you should "moon" the train. I'll even go with ya.
  4. Well Jimbo, that right there is quite the prize.
  5. We need a pitcher for this evening. I'd like to keep the batting order the way it has been all season long.
  6. It's the ninth for the game, and the bar for me. I'm heading to Kip's on Hwy. 100 to drown my sorrows.
  7. Next time that happens I suggest you "moon" the train.
  8. I lost my father at an early age as well. I am sorry for the loss all of you are experiencing and I sincerely offer an ear if you'd ever want to talk.
  9. Order her a #4 and let her super size it.
  10. 1-0 Jamie. I left a note on the downstairs door suggesting a nice hotel they could stay at. It's in Wyoming. I also stated that another Cub win results in the doors being nailed shut so they can't come in.
  11. I'm going to go downstairs and board up the doors so the visiting Cub fans can not get in.
  12. Weeks can't sit. "He's hitting the ball really well right now, and a great defender."
  13. Why is it that every time they show the Brewers dugout I expect to see Nedly playing hopscotch?
  14. Effective defensive changes are over rated.
  15. Would I be out of line if I said that this series will highlight Ned Yost's incompetence? (Not pointing at anything just yet, but there will be major questions)
  16. I'm not feeling any better here. Cubs up 4-3
  17. Some of you know that we have a duplex (top/bottom) that we share with Mary's parents. Mary and her family are from Chicago Heights, Ill. Her dad has "seen the light" and follows the Brewers since moving up here. He was never a huge Cub fan and elected to follow both the stubs and the White Sox. He is mostly just a baseball fan. My mother-in-law could not care much less about sports, but follows along a bit to talk with her husband and myself. My wife Mary can not stand the Cubs in any way, shape, or form and is a die hard Brewers fan. Normally, with this series coming to town, there would not be a big to do. This particular time though, Tom and Maggie have friends staying with them for the series. They are staying right here in this very building. They are massive Cub fans who live and breathe the team. They are ball fans and could easily recite the team members, trades, etc. They are luckily for me, not your typical fashionable Cub fan looking for a beer buzz and to be seen. I've yet to speak with them but they just got here and a conversation is just around the corner. I will have to deal with them for their stay which lasts from today (Monday) until Thursday. They are going to all four games. I had to run a few errands and arrived back home before they got here at which time my father in law asked I move my car so that the Cub fan car can be put in the garage. I told him that would be a good idea to get the vehicle out of sight. There won't be arguing or anything going on between myself and the unfortunate fans, but there will be some good natured ribbing most likely a majority of it being from me. Other than a week long bender or blowing up their car, how can I get through this thing? I am going to have to see Cub shirts, hats, jerseys, etc., walking around in my own yard. Please help.
  18. Happy Birthday.

  20. Oscar Ruiz was born this morning adding to the Brewer Nation. He currently weighs in just over 7 pounds and although he can't really walk just yet, he did tell me he needed "Outta that tummy in time to see the Crew crush the Cubs." He then took a nap. I'll post a picture later, gotta get the ok from his mom and dad first. A nice pat on the back to my sister and Bro in-law on a job well done.
  21. In my dream last night I was hanging out with a gigantic bumble bee named Fred. We were on my patio having a couple beers.
  22. I hadn't realized this has become a problem for the Brewers. Perhaps there is some sort of spray repellent the trainer could spray on each player so they smell quite unappealing to the other guy. This could perhaps curb their appetites. Maybe I could call the team and suggest that they give it a try.
