  1. Yet another strange injury for a baseball player. Mean Pillow
  2. Is Jamie in for beers afterward? Does a dog bark? Does a mosquito bite? Does a bird fly? Does a bear.....? Yes. I could perhaps be talked into a beer after the game.
  3. HOUSTON (AP)-Astros pitcher Shawn Chacon was suspended indefinitely by the team Wednesday for insubordination after reportedly grabbing general manager Ed Wade by the neck and throwing him to the ground. Chacon, upset after getting demoted to the bullpen over the weekend, told the Houston Chronicle this problem began when Wade saw him in the dining room before the game against Texas. Wade wanted to meet with Chacon in manager Cecil Cooper's office, the pitcher said. "I sat down to eat and Ed Wade came to me and very sternly said, 'You need to come with me to the office,"' Chacon said. "I said 'for what?' I said 'I don't want to go to the office with you and Cooper.' And I said, 'You can tell me whatever you got to tell me right here.' He's like, 'Oh, you want me to tell you right here?' And I said, 'yeah.' I'm not yelling. I'm calm." Chacon said things went downhill from there. "He started yelling and cussing," Chacon said of Wade, according to a story on the Chronicle's Web site. "I'm sitting there and I said to him very calmly, 'Ed, you need to stop yelling at me. Then I stood up and said, 'You better stop yelling at me.' I stood up. He continued and was basically yelling." Chacon said that after Wade told him he needed to "look in the mirror," it got worse. "So at that point I lost my cool and I grabbed him by the neck and threw him to the ground. I jumped on top of him," he said. "Words were exchanged." Chacon said players quickly came and separated the two. He recalled outfielder Reggie Abercrombie pulling him away from Wade. Wade announced the move, but would not provide any other details. Chacon has been upset since being bumped from the rotation and moved into the bullpen on Sunday. Chacon is 2-3 with a 5.04 ERA in 15 starts for Houston this year. The right-hander set a major league record with nine straight no-decisions to start the season. "He is suspended pending final resolution of whatever move we end up making with him," Wade said. When asked if Chacon was disciplined because he physically accosted Wade, the GM said: "I'm not getting into any details of anything beyond what I just said. It is an internal matter." Wade did confirm that Chacon's agent called and requested a trade earlier this week but said "that has nothing to do with the events of today." Chacon is now concerned that he might not pitch in the majors again. "Maybe it shouldn't have happened," Chacon said. "But when you do those things and you're yelling at somebody and you're cussing you better know what type of person you're dealing with. If there's any regret, I just wish they had just let me alone. I wish they had left me alone," he told the Chronicle. Chacon signed a $2 million, one-year contract with Houston in February after spending 2007 with Pittsburgh. He split time as a starter and a reliever there and was 5-4 with a 3.94 ERA and one save in 64 appearances with the Pirates.
  4. Well it's time for the boys of White House to be used and abused like rented mules. It's time the girly men of White House be crushed like bugs. It is time for Brewerfan to open up a can of well, you know what. Sure, White House is a bunch of nice guys. Yes, they play fair. Yes, they are fun. This means nothing come game time when Barry the pitcher gets treated like Eric Gagne with a four run lead. He gets crushed. Annihilated. Beat down. I hope they enjoy the three runs they will get scattered along the way so they can say they avoided the shut out. They one thing they will not avoid is destiny. Ours is to win, they will suffer a much less dignified fate and it will come in the form of a crushing defeat. Yes my friends, I guaranty victory for Brewerfan. Personally, I plan to hit home runs myself. I'd have to say we put a good 40 runs on the board. While we are at the White House bar collecting our beer cups, the boys of White House will still be on the field, in the parking lot, and in the gutters looking for what is left of their dignity. Yup. I said it. Feel free to post White House. I'm calling you out. When the game is over, I'll give each of you a copy of the score book . That way, when you are hiving the worst day at work you can imagine, you can whip out the ol' score sheet and realize you have suffered worse. far worse. See you tomorrow boys.
  5. Just a few Italian Sausages this time. Wait until I fire up the smoker. http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQPooxQ00xaaGxv8uOc5xQQQloaGQnleQQqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QoQ0%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442
  6. Oh I'm there. I'm totally there. As a matter of fact, I may just leave right now. After the game, it's White House time boys.
  7. So. Next year the Buck-a-roos are due for a 40 game improvement and a trophy. That'll be nice.
  8. They shoulda fouled.
  9. Only 39 points now. 27 seconds left. Foul! Foul!
  10. There's a minute and 3 seconds left. LA is down 43 points. Why aren't they fouling? Foul! Foul!
  11. My daughter Rachel (5) tells me my hair is brown with "white highlights". Yup.
  12. I really believe that if the Brewers as a club don't give up more than 3 runs by the end of the game, they can win this one.
  13. Did ya see that bat shattering hit? Instead of calling it "hitting for power", it should be called "hitting for Parra."
  14. I dunno. I do know that I need a pair of shoes to slip on/off easily when gardening. I can't walk in the house with muddy feet or Mary will kill me and then probably bury me in Crocs just to prove her point.
  15. If I were a gambling man, I'd put some money on LA to win the whole thing. That'd be a nice pay off if it were to happen. Down 3-1 I'm thinking $10 which is an affordable loss, would net ya some nice coin.
  16. Splatterhouse Garden in your Bathtub http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3255/2573931260_702e68f190_m.jpg
  17. Count me in as well. I do however, ask that I get a copy of emails in regards to what is going on. I very much appreciate the initiative but I also need to be involved when the site is being represented.
  18. This stupid rain is really cutting into my drinking time.
  19. How about meeting up at Kip's Inn on Hwy 100 in West Allis around 9-9:30 pm for a few beers? Anyone? I need to get outta the house for a while.
  20. Game is canceled due to weather. No game.
  21. Since we now have two teams posting in this forum, things get a bit goofy for announcements, etc. I think that to simplify things, we should probably use post icons for team 1 (exclamation mark) and team two (two way arrows). Use post icons for IGT's or official announcements only please. General threads don't really need an icon. Thanks everyone.
  22. We'll perhaps tinker with batting order shortly, but the plan going into the year was to keep the batting order unchanged. Radman Matt will pitch the whole game this week. Hopefully, we will be able to play. I will not be home until approximately 5:30pm and will not be able to post an official announcement about the game until that time if there is a question due to weather. I hope we play because I could use a beer at the White House.
