  1. Grocery shopping is done. This is gonna be some good stuff.
  2. The date is approaching, so I'd like to take a minute and let you know that we will be in the Giants parking lot. I drive a black SUV and it will have some blue balloons as a marker of our location. If that does not work, I will soon be PM'ing my cell phone number to confirmed attendees. See you all there. Remember- look toward the front end of the Giants parking lot (Story Parkway- right by the freeway: ya gotta walk under the freeway bridge to get to the ballpark) Look for a bunch of blue balloons attached to a black SUV.
  3. AAA playoffs mean exactly nothing. I must admit I agree with Al's line of thinking here. While it's nice that the farm teams have been successful, it is their job to supply the Major League with the talent it needs to succeed. IF that means a sacrifice to their own post season play, that's unfortunate, but the nature of the farm system in the first place.
  4. I just got home and read over the thread and all in all, I'd have to say that it seems like a solid move. One thing I didn't see though was how long King has on his contract. Does Milwaukee just abuse the snot out of his arm and let him go at the end of this season? I don't know but I'm rather hoping to see King back next year if he's able. Cheap, solid, and a left handed bullpen arm. I liked that guy when he did his last tour here and I'm glad he is back. The Brewers are picking him up too late to include him on the playoff roster if they make it. That sucks. I guess though, we're sort of in the playoffs already. King comes in, saves some crucial situation which in turn allows the Brewers to win a playoff spot and then he gets kicked to the curb. Bummer.
  5. Does that stuff still come in a wooden case? I remember getting it that way. Good stuff.
  6. More than enough. Maybe just make it 2 bags of chips and let someone else bring some. Otherwise, ya gotta spend too much money.
  7. I'd like to hop on that band wagon that is full of ticked off fans right now. We'll drive that thing to a cool bar and get trashed. I'm so ticked and bummed right now that I could puke.
  8. Yeah, I agree. This thread may as well be buried and put into the whoa solvdd area. Let it die. Let it die.
  9. Kinda looks like Dean Clean to me. (aka Dean Sabatino) But unless Philadelphia has relocated to the UK, I would have to say it's not him.
  10. I'm not sure what happened. The daily commitment of that kind of work would get pretty overwhelming though, so I'd imagine he just needs a break.
  11. You guys know that I'm a big Cecil Cooper fan so I'm happy for his new gig. However, once a new manager is chosen, he's probably unemployed.
  12. Yikes. That is one tough hombre. I reached out with a bare hand to catch an errant throw by on of my little leaguers once and it stung like nuts for a while. Even tired, that fast ball was probably going around 85 MPH hey?
  13. Oops! I almost forgot to tell you where the seats are located. I called a group sales person to arrange things but we ended up just getting tickets from the ticket window. Due to our group size we got pushed down to the foul pole. No big deal. We have TB 405 row 2 seats 1-8 and row 3 seats 1-6.
  14. All tickets have been purchased. We have: Jamie 2 Brian 2 Jimbo 2 Hawing 2 Patrick 1 Tomwopat 2 Robin19 2 (plus extra tailgating) Geno-Selig-Preib 1 I can bring a few lawn chairs and a table. Remember- It's bring your own drinks, and if you want to, sharing is great. We still need people to bring the following items: Veggie Tray Dips Chips (5-6 bags) --- a few bags per person would be great. We kept prices way low this year and want a low stress event, but we do need help. Thanks Guys!!!!! If you did not get a ticket with us and you would still like to join in the fun, that's cool too. Just let me know below and you can pay $2.00 per person at the tailgate.
  15. I hate needles. I absolutely hate them. I don't like shots, I can't stand blood tests, I am scared like a little girl. Despite my fears though, I donate blood pretty regularly. It's important to do it, so I do. A few minutes of discomfort is not much to overcome to be able to help someone out who may very well need blood to save their life. I'm formally challenging each and every one of you to go donate blood on Monday, August 26th. I'm going to do it. This drive happens to be around the time I can donate. (you have to wait a specific amount of time to donate each time) I'll be at Miller Park to give blood sometime after 5 pm and I'll wear a David Weathers jersey and a Brewerfan.net t-shirt. Come up and give me your screen name, and I'll enter you to win the shirt. Go give blood someplace else, email me or pm me, and you get entered as well. Winner is picked at random. So now you can save a life, get two tickets to a Brewers game, and have a shot at a new t-shirt. As if helping another human being was not enough. GO GIVE BLOOD! They have a large screen TV. Otherwise, I can get us reserved seating by a nice TV and cheap drinks at a place around 88th and Greenfield ave. Anyone?

  20. Reminder- Payment deadline is August 27th. Let's get some more people involved everyone!
  21. Joel Pinero gets the nod from Tony LaRussa for this evening. Pinero s currently 2-2 with an ERA of 4.50 in 46.0 innings of work. He has allowed 52 hits and 23 earned runs. He has fanned 26 and walked 16. Pinero is making his third start of the season tonight. Last time out was at home hosting SD where his went 7 complete innings, gave no earned runs, no walks, and scattered 4 hits. Yovani Gallardo is up for Milwaukee tonight. Coming into this evening, he is 4-2 with an ERA of 4.20 and has 8 starts in 11 appearances. Gallardo has been quite reliable this year and an almost sure fired victory for the Crew when he's the starter. Unfortunately in his last start, he was lit up large. Gallardo gave up more runs (11) in that start than in his previous 7 appearances combined (9). Gallardo's 4 wins are deceiving as his bullpen has let him down more than one time. In 55.2 innings of work this season Yo has allowed 26 earnies, 4 dingers, 20 walks and has struck out 48.
  22. Home will show less wear. Me likey.
  23. Let's not forget payment, folks. I've gotten one check so far...
  24. brewerjamie15 is great
