  1. I got it for me but the team is more than free to use it. Hopefully, it'll get us some hits. Thanks for the offer, but nah, I don't want any money chipped in for the bat.
  2. ....in the parking lot I saw a vehicle (SUV I think) with glamor plates that read: SOFBALL. Wow. Made me think of that article we had on the site last year about the total softball geek. Anyhow, the place was deserted and getting any help was next to impossible so I went to Sports Authority on BLuemound Rd. in Brookfield. They have a nice sale going on for bats. I hope nobody has a DeMarini B52 34" 26oz bat because I just got one. Anyone wanna share wich bat(s) they have so we don't get the exact same thing?
  3. I had a manager's meeting the evening of the 26th and was given our schedule. In addition to schedules, we got a list of rules again and were told of the zero tolerance policy about poor conduct. We will go over this at some of the practices before the season starts. 2007 has brought two new teams to our league and seen two teams disappear. Gone are Anna's and Club Carnival, incoming teams are Milwaukee Church of Christ and Ed Thomas Insurance Agency. 2007 schedule May 10- @ White House 8 pm May 17- VS Ed Thomas Insurance (new team) 9 pm May24- VS. Bay Street Pub 8 pm May 31- @ Landmark 1850 Inn 9 pm June 7- VS Milwaukee Church of Christ (new team) 7 pm ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- June 14- VS White House 9 pm June 21- @ Ed Thomas Ins. 7 pm June 28- @ Bay Street Pub 9 pm July 5- VS Landmark 1850 7 pm July 12- @ Milw. Church of Christ 8 pm
  4. I don't know anyone's contact info from the White House, but we could scrimmage deersveum12's team.
  5. Practices are not mandatory but we sure would like to see you there. Unfortunately, I work every other weekend for now so that means that I will miss about half of the weekend practices. Practices will be Saturdays at 11:00 am and run through the beginning of the season May 7th. The Saturday dates are: March 31st April 7th April 14th April 21st April 28th We will be practicing at the same field as last season for all dates except the 28th of April. For that date, we will be practicing at Sijan #2 which is the game field. I'd fully expect the entire team to attend the final practice. Hales Corners park. Take Hwy 100 to Janesville Rd, up to 116th street, turn right. Go to the stop sign, turn left. Park is on the left.
  6. Well. I didn't even look at the site for a day or two. I've been extremely busy with work lately so it takes quite a bit of what used to be free time. I would not have been able to make it anyhow, hope things were good.
  7. I'm ready to let 'er rip. This is in reference to MLB giving DirecTV exclusive rights to the Extra Innings Package. Being one who used to enjoy watching West Coast games around 10 pm my time and relaxing because of them, I'm pissed off. Bud Selig had brought baseball back to Milwaukee. In a way he has taken it away from Milwaukee baseball fans. Bud for some reason, (OK it was a $700 Million reason) felt it more than ok to slap hard core baseball fans across the face by his deal. I know it was good money for the MLB, but it totally sucks for me and other non-dish fans. I'm not switching. I'm more ticked off at baseball than ever before including strikes. I'm seriously upset and feel betrayed. If money is all that the MLB cares about, they won't be getting much of mine. I have decided that since money is the only language baseball speaks, I will talk to them in a way they understand. I'm going to fewer games this year. Piss me off again, and I won't go to -any- games this year. Seriously. I am not just blowing smoke. I told my wife the same thing and I even told baseball the consequences if they did the deal. Bud screwed me. I used to be pretty supportive of him and now he's gone and screwed me over. I'm done with him, and he is now one of my least favorite people on the planet. I blame nobody for this but baseball. I will not happily eat the dish of trash they serve their fans. I'm throwing my plate back in their face. MLB will be getting a letter from me expressing my dismay and although it obviously means nothing to them, it will make me feel better. Pound Sand Bud Selig. I'm done with you. You make me sick.
  8. Here I am telling everyone to watch themselves and last season, the catcher was running up the first base line messing with me. What did I do?? Shoved him. Started yelling swear words and stuff and wanted to fight him. I guess it's Do as I say, not as I do?? That team makes everyone mad.
  9. I went and paid the team fee today. We have a secured spot in the league. The only other team currently signed up is Bay Street and if I remember correctly, that team is full of jerks with no class. I have a meeting on March 26th about the season but I don't see any major changes to worry about. The league ball will be selected at a later date. Rules all remain the same I'd imagine, and don't get kicked out of a game because I get the boot too and that would make me upset. I'll be announcing the first practice in the near future. I'd like to have a few practices under our belts before the season starts. If you have not paid yet, please do so. Player cards will need to be filled out at the first practice. Thanks
  10. Just for that I'm buying one. Please do not wear it (and only it) for our fan fest event. I can guarantee this would be a PR problem for me.
  11. Right now, details are not yet ready. I've had to put this project on the back burner for a little while, but you will be seeing an announcement very shortly on the main page.

  13. Our 2007 team is full and no longer accepting players. Please watch for upcoming announcements about practices, etc.
  14. Naughty Bats
  15. Ok, I'll send it to you. Or I'll post it (or a link) right here. I gotta find it though.
  16. Laura- Things are a go at Pooley's. I spoke to Jeff and then to Greg on Feb. 6th. Please just go to the bar and report in with them. No real food or drink specials to speak of, and I'm not sure if you guys will want one tab or pay per person. Lemmie know if you have Q's 414-476-7040. Wish I could be there, but there's very little chance of that for this year.
  17. I'll look into openings for another team. I'm not sure when it would start up though because I'm not sure which leagues may have openings right now. I won't be able to chase a second team idea until Mid Feb.
  18. Fair enough. I had purchased a $30-40 bat last year and after using some nicer bats, I thought I'd bring up a nice team bat idea. I think we'll just let the issue die for now.
  19. I'm going to call that bar Pooley's and make sure things are still a go. Unfortunately, I can not make it this year. I have had some issues with personal life and work pop up that I can not ignore. My presence has been minimal around the site lately and will remain that way for about another month or so. I will be around, just not quite as noticeable.
  20. Jason21nl- are you going to play?
  21. Players- I need to start gathering money for softball registration fees/player fees/ and game balls. I'd also like to ask if any of you are interested in pitching in for a new team bat. Here's a breakdown of fees we need to cover: Non-City of Milwaukee Sponsor Team Fee: $210.00 franchise fee is $198.87 tax is $11.13 team fee went up this year for two reasons. 1) rec dept raised all fees. 2) I no longer live in city of mke so we have to pay non-city sponsor fees Individual Player Fee:non-MKE resident $24.00 City of MKE Player Fee: $12.00 Game balls: $35.00 Total fees for each player: $13.00 individual portion of team fee $24.00 player fee non- city of MKE resident $12.00 city of MKE resident $2.10 ball fee ------------------------------ Non city of Milwaukee residents total $39.10 City of Milwaukee residents total $27.10 there is also the issue of a team bat. Would you guys want to pitch in for a team bat? I'd ask for $10.00 each for a new bat. Please let me know about the bat if we decide to purchase one, add $10.00 to your individual total. Money is due by February 14th and no later! If you don't pay by 14 February, I need you to contact me and make arrangements for payment. Please contact me by inbox or jamie@brewerfan.net to obtain my mailing address or PayPal account information.
  22. So here's the apparent roster for 2007 names in red are new for 2007 16 players. Roster is now locked for MS 385 team. If we need to open a second Milwaukee team, we will. 23. I'll have you come to some of the practices and then you can view a schedule. We can figure it out from there but there should not be a problem. If we get too many guys interested, we'll just start another team here in Milwaukee land.
