  1. Is it just me or did you guys see a few balls in the dirt that were not taken out of play and used again? This no longer happens. I like the stirrups. Bring 'em back!
  2. One other thing I've noticed. Schroeder's mitt appears to have orange spray paint on it to highlight it. I remember seeing this back in the day but have not for a long, long time. What's up with that? Has lighting just gotten better for night games or what?
  3. As always, my first thought is how skinny all the players are. My wife just said the same thing. She thought they were like Shrinky Dinks or something. I gotta admit, they look like girly men.
  4. Fair enough. I'll be asking for your cash pretty soon everyone so please start watching your inboxes for messages. If you have that dumb yuku thing, you'd probably be best off switching back. I can't seem to contact people via yuku. Thanks.
  5. Well you -can- tell us but then you'd have to kill us.
  6. Let's go 2006 players who have not yet signed up.... I need to start getting this together...
  7. Roster for 2007 so far: Me Brian Patrick Iron Chef Napalm bball123h Houlie24X Radman12484 Ajay Nullbyte Jason21nl Ajohnson104 Jimbo Razzorsharp
  8. I sure hope we can see more of you on the field next season. Well; before and after the festival season anyhow...
  9. OK so we need a lefty. Good luck DJones.
  10. If there were to be a Madison team, I'd need for someone out there to spearhead the thing. I have no clue as to how the recreation system is out there, or anything else. I'd be happy to see a Madison team but I'd be of very little help in it due to my location.
  11. I just got an information package in the mail from the County Rec. Dept., and it's time to start thinking about registering for the upcoming season. We need to sign up earlier this year so we have our spot saved. Everything remains the same from last year: League is MS-385 Sijan Field Thursday Nights: 7:00/8:00/9:00 P.M. All players from last year's team have an automatic spot for the 2007 team. I need to know at this time which ones of you will be on the team again and which of you guys won't be. Slots left open by non-returning players will be filled on a first come first served basis. If there is enough interest by new players, I will start another team for a different location and a different night. ( I have no details to offer at this point for team #2) Player Fees for the established team will be figured out once I have the number of players. Figure on about the same $$ as last year: $24.00 non-resident of Milwaukee $12.00 for residents, and then game balls and team fee divided by # of players. Post all replies or questions to this thread please.
  12. Hotels seem to be booking quickly for that trip. I'm guessing by the information I have looked at that rooms will be 2 double beds or even 1 king bed will be around $130.00 for the night. For those of you ( I think I'm going solo too) with single packages you are looking at (sans transportation or meals) $100.00 presently (approximately) Rooms will be reserved as two double beds which will be randomly (unless requested) assigned for room mates. So far it appears as if we have 20-25 people wanting to go. The more people we get, the lower each package price will be. Brewerfan.net is not making any money on this at all. All prices quoted are given to us and relayed to you with no markup at all. I will provide all price quote information once deals are made.
  13. http://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/det/images/copa02diagram_sky_551x424.gif I'm thinking that seats anywhere from section 118-124 (by the Visitor's Dugout) would be pretty good. I believe those tickets sell at $40.00 each. seating link with prices
  14. I have the day off so I'm able to set aside some time to work on this a little bit. Please keep in mind that tickets are not even available just yet and that things are obviously in the beginning phases. I called the Tigers team and will be getting a package of information shipped off to me within 2-3 weeks. I should have more hotel and other information available around that time. Brewerfan.net will be offering a transportation option to all of you that I'm quite sure you'll find more than acceptable. I'm quite excited about this forthcoming announcement. Tickets for group sales start in the beginning of February. Once I know the exact date sales begin, I'll set a deadline date for money to be to me for tickets only (not including any other needs) I'm going to call around about group rates for hotels and post that information in the near future. Look at this part of the site for announcements in the next few seeks. Thanks. Hope you can join us.
  15. I'll have more information after the holiday madness settles down...
  16. I can't find Laura's deleting posts thread. I'm ticked off about it too.
  17. oops, I forgot. Me and brewermary. That's 2 so far.
  18. 17 February 9:00 p.m. Pooley's will reserve us some space. Please confirm below or let me know if you think you will be there. I hope we break 25 in attendance. 5441 High Crossing Blvd Madison, WI. 53718 Edit: Map link does not work.
  19. Well, I'm surely there, so that's two for us. Patrick- That's an incredible looking graphic! Maybe we can get a Milwaukee contingent together for a car pool?
  20. For those of you not familiar to the idea, it's an annual event started 3 years ago by yours truly. Our Winter Meetings consist of basically the same thing as the MLB Winter Meetings: Beer, Food, Beer, Shooting the breeze, and then Beer. I am looking for another increase in attendance this year and since it's a roving type deal. This year, our amazing event will be held in Madison. We often have "Westerners"(Madison people) show up for our gatherings so this time I think it appropriate that we go to them. This year will feature another new twist: Our new moderator Hawing (Laura) is going to be helping out with arrangements this year. I'm not sure of the exact location just yet, but we are open to suggestions for the bar and the February Saturday for this event to be held. edit: So bring your buddies, your spouse, significant other, or some guy you don't even know out to the 2007 Winter Meetings for some great baseball talk. I'll give away some BF.Net stuff and maybe have a surprise or two up my sleeve. I'd like to ask for a general interest at this time so I can get a rough head count. I have no idea how much beer or drinks (Non Alcohol included) will run us but I'd make sure we got a special deal from whomever agrees to have us.
  21. No tryouts. Just come join the team. I will probably do as I did last season and announce that the team is open for players and once I hit a magic number of players, the roster closes. If there is enough interest, we can strike up a second team.
  22. Wow. You guys are nuts.
  23. Brewerjamie stands in front of the small gathering of others. All chairs gathered in a semi circle. Jamie shifts his weight from side to side nervously, clears is throat, and finally finds the inner strength to admit that he is from brewerfan and that he is therefore, a loser. The first step has been completed.
  24. I gotta find that camera. I'll work on it. Then I gotta find the shirt. It's truly a one of a kind. I'm the only one who got one before it was pulled. Now I just need a T-shirt telling everyone that prince of roy says I am a loser and I'll be all set.
  25. This should probably be in the "issues" section of the site. So I'm putting it in the proper location. If you wanna tell us how much we suck that's fine. I'm down with it. You have that right. If you're going to tell me how bad I am though, please use proper grammar.
