  1. I guess debating the suckiness of our pitchers is going to happen but just remember that there are no other options to speak of.
  2. NIce. Blanco just hurt us a little bit. Wise is obviously unable to control his stuff well today so I can see why Yost would keep going with him. Meh. Maybe I should take another nap.
  3. Sandwich gone. I would like another glass of ice water but I don't want to get up. Man, the situations I'm forced to deal with right now, and Ned Yost thinks he's got it tough?
  4. I've got the day off today. I just finished making our lunch. Rachel gets her requested PB&J while I made myself a Salami and Mortadella with Munster cheese grilled on flatbread sandwich. I haso have some nice BBQ chips and pickles for my meal. Time to eat and then lay on the couch and relax while watching a ball game. I'm not doing any chores today and I plan on taking a nap. Ahhh.
  5. Just chain it is my vote. I got questioned about it earlier, and when I said that if someone suggested a lineup, we'd us it. Nobody did. It's daisy chain I guess. I don't think I can play defense just yet because of my hand. I told mary it's feeling better, but she said napes to the fielding.
  6. Robin19 will be busy pitching and can't keep score at that time. I have no idea how to load stats into myspace. I'll take care of scorekeeping somehow, but I'll need a sheet for that day if possible.
  7. 26 pages of debauchery if I spelled that right. I'm back again, been a long time. Pabst. 2 fer three bucks. That is all. I'm done. I'm blasted and I'm watching Brew Crew Review that Patrick was on for the draft stuff. I'm need soe water.
  8. I'vedrank me some beers. I'm ready to play some sogtball. softball I mean. Pabst is 2for three bucks. I"m like Rick Sutcliff in his famous interview with Matt V- something. where's the drunk thread?
  9. Houlie- Fair enough about the lineup. If you guys feel that daisy chain is not the best option, I'm willing to go with whatever. How about this idea; If you want a real nice lineup, how about 2-3 of -you- guys on the team come up with a lineup and then hammer it out? Jimbo has done it frequently, my choice is not too popular, so how about if someone else helps out and suggests a lineup? Nullbyte- I am pretty sure that I said all players should have played full games by now in the outfield. I even asked at a game if everyone had a chance to do so. Did you tell me? I don't remember. You can play the full game this Thursday if you'd like. I have absolutely no problem with that. I'll put ya in RC if that's ok? You can be the weekly starter out there if you want to.
  10. Check your inbox bro.
  11. Bball is who I'd like at first base. Let's consider that a rest of the season type thing. I still want to look at RF and RC, but I think that we can consider several positions sealed as far as starters or key defensive players. Pitcher Probably going to see if Jimbo can get comfortable there. I'd like to back him up with AL and or Zak. Catcher Brian will usually and Radman, (right?) replaces him First Base Kenny is the main man there, backed up by ?? Second Base Honestly, I think I do fine there and I don't have any errors. I'll start there. Back up for second base is Robin 19 if he's not someplace else. I'd like to see him get more defensive time. Third Base Valpomatt doesn't believe me, but I think he'd be good there. Let's put you there for another game or two and then we could probably swith you back to short, and I like being your double play partner, but for now, let's slow it down a bit and see what happens. SS will be backed up by ?? Short Stop Nick is a good choice over there and he'll be backed up by ?? I think that Robin19 could back up any infield position, so let's consider that option. maybe a rotating start for you r19 as well. AJ- are you comfy in the outfield? You'd be a fine infielder too, as long as you don't throw the ball to me any time soon. LF Good wheels, good arm, Houlie24 followed by?? LC AJ has done excellent, no reason tochange, besides, I don't think we could improve that position. RC/R Yet to be determined I guess. I'd like a good arm out there but that area does not seem to get a whole bunch of action. How do I resolve this? I don't want anyone insulted or slighted by these suggestions. They are suggestions, not absolutes. If you are not comfortable with my ideas, lemmie know and we'll change it. Just because you've been suggested at pitcher, catcher, or Right Field does not mean your glove is being hidden. I'm attempting to put who helps us most defensively in the field first. I'm all for giving guys a shot at different positions, but I won't know to do it if you don't ask. Matt brought up a good point earlier about defense and offense. Matt said it appeared to him that shoring up the defense and not looking at the batting order is a bad idea. I disagree. From watching our team on defense, we can stop probably 4-6 runs a game by not making stupid throws to first, not letting a bouncing ball get past an outfielder, and playing back a few extra steps on a hitter that's burned us in the past. If we did that each game, we'd have at least one more win right now. Generally, we generate runs which is the nature of softball. Solid defense can win games, we all know that. Hitting is very important but going by OPS, SLG, AVG, is not practical because we would have to adjust the lineup every game. Spreading singles hitters with power guys is a good idea and with that principal in mind, we should be just fine. If this idea is way out there, let me know. If your name is not mentioned here, don't be alarmed I am bad with names, I still don't know half of your names. I'm gong to take over some more of the details for a bit to be a better manager for the remainder of the season and in the future.
  12. I forgot your name, sorry. You have a cannon for an arm but I can't seem to remember your screen name or real name. Someone help?
  13. Let's plan to have Jimbo pitch next game. I'd like to see AL get some pitching practice in as well so he's ready. OK Al? Lets plan on the Matt at third and Nick at SS to be a regular change as well. I'm going to hit next game, but due to my hand injury, I doubt I can play at second base. I'd also like to see the lineup from last week continue where the last out was made bring into effect the daisy chain lineup which will remain the norm for the season. I'll be handling the pre game umpire meeting from now on, we need to make sure someone on the bench will mark score when our team is on defense, and we need to address our right field situation. I'll be posting RF's deal shortly and we will be tabbing someone to be our every game first baseman.
  14. Like Hall was helping out at SS. I heart Barnwell!
  15. E-6! Why can't DD ever seem to catch a break?
  16. I'm not sure if I can field anything by next week, which includes pitcher so I'm going to have to get someone to take the position. Gimmie a bit and I 'll figure out who I want out there ok?
  17. This is softball. They make gloves the size of a garbage can these days, maybe the one you're using is too small. If I remember correctly the glove you've got seems like a baseball glove.
  18. Sweet. Glad you guys held on for the win. I went to the Dr. as I said, and it seems that I won't be needing a pin put in my hand. I have a chip fracture in my hand, and there is a pretty good bone bruise that goes straight through from the palm to the back of my hand. The swelling is caused by fluid caught up in there which is going to take time to dissipate. The doc said that this injury could take up to a month to heal. I am going to take his advice and ice the snot out of it and hope that I'll be ok to play soon.
  19. This is a team run by the team, so it that's what the team wants, that's what will happen. I don't like the idea of a batting order based on SLG, or OPS, or OBP in softball because the numbers take drastic changes each and every game. I'd rather do the daisy chain that you suggested earlier Jimbo, and keep that idea for the remainder of the season and for future seasons. This gives us a balanced attack throughout and we don't have to keep on going through this "What's the best order?" conversation between the same 4-5 people. Daisy chain is also more effective because of weekly absences or in my case, DL time. Sam order every time, just a different leadoff guy. We should have beaten this team the first time anyhow and I'm sure that we win tonight regardless of lineup changes. Besides, like I've tried to say before, and as we all know, up to a certain # of AB's, numbers like avg, etc swing drastically with every hit, double, etc. In my opinion, we are waaay to early into BF.Net softball to start freaking out about numbers. I appreciate the desire to win, but that is something that will take care of itself.
