They really needed the 2 wins this weekend. That puts them back into contention in the WCHA conference. As bad as the start has been they're still in 4th place and need to get at least one win this weekend in Duluth.
It looks like we control Dave Bush for 2 more years. He will get a Jeff Suppan like contract after that on the open market. Anyone have an idea of how much we're going to have to pay him this year in arbitration?
They should at least get 4 points next weekend when Michigan Tech comes to town. I'll be there on Friday. I think they are starting to turn the corner now and getting adjusted to the new rules.
Good move for the Brewers. Cameron at 10 million in a critical position like CF is a bargain. For those of you who are against picking up his option, I guarantee your solution is either not feasible or just plain not as good of an option. It's been a long time since the Brewers have had as quality of a CF as Mike Cameron.
I made the trip up to Grand Forks, North Dakota tonight and it was a good game, but another case of the Badgers blowing a good opportunity to win the game. The Ralph is a really nice stadium, but I'd take the Kohl Center any day over that arena. It might be a long season of Hockey in Madtown.
If Philly wasn't stupid and put a roof on their stadium when they built it a couple years ago, we wouldn't be talking about this, but teams are too cheap to do that it seems like when they build new stadiums.
Now that the season is way too long with the extra division series and 162 games, we are playing games very late into October and the weather is making it almost impossible to happen without fans and players freezing their butts off if a Northern team makes the series. Buster Olney and Peter Gammons have suggested that the game be played at a neutral site next year to avoid all of this crap. Why not Miller Park? How sweet would it be to have 7 games of World Series baseball in Milwaukee even if the Brewers didn't make it.
Random Lake has played at Miller Park twice in the last 5 years. That's where I went to HS. I got a chance to see my brother hit a double at Miller Park!
I watched the Bucks game and then the Lakers game. I'm an NBA junkie. This year's World Series just didn't do it for me. I got more entertainment from Rays vs Red Sox.
It doesn't even seem like Connelly is doing that bad this year. I'd like to see him in a game where there wasn't 2,000 Power Plays and he had a fair shake. He's made some pretty good saves this year. I'd discredit our defense as well. They're giving up way too many easy opportunities.
Well those are the only 2 guys that I see of value when it comes to giving up Hardy. You could maybe talk me into Blackburn, but there is better out there for J.J.
