  1. or, had we not given up on Gennett, and had Jesus doing his thing as well, we'd be in pretty good shape, only needing a SS and a hitting catcher... It's all in how you look at it I guess. True...but I imagine it came down to scooter or jesus...
  2. I see a few early missed calls by the home plate ump. That's fun. Nice play by Perez.
  3. Is he the reds only rep? If so, that's probably why he got in.
  4. I'm not sure the going rate, but I'd be okay with not giving 4 million a year to a 650 ops guy, but that's just me.
  5. So much short hand writing...yikes. U mean u ain't happy wit da fbook live games dood!?! I'm sure they'll get some primetime games after the break. Plus, most everyone knows espn is pretty biased towards the coasts.
  6. Apparently he is at a family wedding. Will be back for Marlins series. People get married on Thursdays? Weird. Not sure if you were kidding or not, but Friday weddings are becoming much. Ore popular...which could mean he would be there Thursday I'd it's someone close.
  7. I hate having to watch it from my iPad, maybe I just havent figured out how to get it on my TV. My friends say you dont need a Facebook account to watch the games, but I have no idea if that's true as I use my wife's account.
  8. Have the brewers given up a grand slam 3 games in a row? How many times has that been done. That seems incredibly hard to do.
  9. True. Pitch one could have been a strike...which could potentially change the at bat. Could have gone either way, but I think we all knew Hader wasn't as unhittable as he was.
  10. Funny thing is...if he has a reliever start the inning people would have been up in arms that we didnt let Suter try the 7th. It's happened many times this year already.
  11. Average fan, true. But the US bought the most world cup tickets outside of Russia this year. Pretty incredible I think. We're the third largest country in the world with what should be one of the easiest roads to qualification. I don't think it's any surprise that we bought the most outside of Russia. I agree. I was just pointing out that it did sell well even though the US wasn't in it. I have no idea how many of those tickets were sold before the US choked.
  12. The high bounce was a tough pick... it sure how much better he could have done. Did he come off the bag and not keep the tag on? I thought he did a solid job trying to get the tag down on the high throw.
  13. https://www.google.com/amp/www.sbnation.com/a/mlb-2017-season-preview/game-length/amp You are right, but it is part of the problem. It isn't 30 seconds per half inning, more like 10 to 15, but is close to 10 minutes extra. Interesting article anyways.

  15. You're right. I have noticed this in other sports too. Solid idea.
  16. More SB attempts, quicker outs on throw outs. A throw over is just like a pitch, takes roughly the same amount of time. A step off is slightly less. I realize that, but do we have an actual number of time it takes. Let's say every throw over is 20 seconds added. How many throw overs a game are there? Then, would the increased amount of steals add more time...take time away? Why not just change the count to 3-2 count instead of 4-3.
  17. I read somewhere that commercials added an extra 30 seconds to each half inning...right there is 15ish minutes. I realize they'd probably never do it, but getting rid of that would shorten the game to under 3 hours. Making the pitcher face more than 1 hitter is an idea that doesnt exactly change the basics of baseball, such as throw overs for balls and step outs for strikes. I'd prefer they get that time back by getting rid of the things that make the games longer without hurting the basics of the game.
  18. How much time is really spent with pickoffs and step offs? I truly dont know the answer and I'm not sure we'd be able to come up with one. In fact, with increased steals(I'm guessing thered be more), the amount of time saved would be very little. Want to shorten the game length? Stop giving so much time in between innings for singing songs and games.
  19. While we are at it batters get a strike every time they step out of the box to redo their gloves or take a sign. Calling timeout too...also a strike. Not with 2 strikes though. Does this sound dumb? Because I was trying to make it sound dumb.
