  1. No, I don't think players are ok with it. Players rarely get caught because I don't think it's much of a "thing" anymore. Multiple HD cameras have taken care of that. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/10852821/count-pitchers-continuing-use-pine-tar This article is from 2014, but I think it is still relevant. It mentions it only gets called when it clearly crosses the line, but talks to many people who just go about business as usual.
  2. Pitchers using pine tar for one. You said there are other rules that are broken and not enforced. This is a bad example, because it is enforced when a player is caught. There is an understanding among the players that it's 'okay' for pitchers to use pine tar, or at least that's what players say, so no, I disagree that it is enforced. And yes, of course it's enforced when they are 'caught'. How many times do players get caught s year, once? Baseball is full of things that people choose to ignore. And just for the record, I am pretty sure I've seen Dan Jennings put something on his hand before he pitches. He turned his back and took his cap off and rubbed his left hand inside his cap...and I don't really care because no one else seems to either.
  3. It’s been a couple years now, right? At the game...did Chacin’s throw to 1st hit Ahmed? Runner was clearly inside the line It did, but he was back in line when it hit him.
  4. Pitchers using pine tar for one.
  5. I care. If 5% or 90% were using PEDs I would still care. It's against the rules, and not fair to those players who don't want to abuse their bodies. That's a fine opinion to have. There are a lot of things against the rules that don't get enforced and I guess I'm just over it.
  6. 15 years ago, I would buy this 1000%. These days I don't think so. I'm sure a signficant number of players skate the system, but for me a significant number is maybe 3-5% at most. That still would be 30-50 guys that make an mlb appearance that are cheating. Yep, that's fair. I just think there are always guys 'ahead' of the testing. People are always trying to find a way to be better, so I wouldn't be surprised to find out there is still massive guys using, and I for one, couldn't care less.
  7. I have nothing to base this on, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that over half of the league is using something. I suppose that's part of why I don't really care about these reports.
  8. He said he feels great, but his last 3 starts has seen a huge drop in velocity.
  9. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-diamondbacks-could-have-a-patrick-corbin-problem/ Interesting article about Corbin if anyone is interested. Didn't realize his velocity is down 3 mph...That's a lot.
  10. Probably would have been out, but it's just shocking some of the sends we've had, but decided to hold Pina there.
  11. Lefty starter...if Villar is going to start it shouldn't be against a lefty, but your point remains.
  12. Braun is 0 for 3 with 3ks on 9 pitches. That's pathetic. Edit: not sure if it's been 9 pitches, but it seems like it.
