Awful strike zone to Villar. He actually takes a walk, but both of the called strikes are out of the strike zone.

Santana looks lost right now, but I am pretty sure he was like that last year at the beginning of the year too.

Maybe, however, Cain hasn't made many 'tough' plays yet this year either.

We are not watching the same player apparently. Villar is the same player as of last season, minus the benching in September. I would like Sogard to play everyday until he proves that he can't. If we could give him half the rope Villar has for some reason gotten, I'd be thrilled. Sogard gets on base more, takes more pitches, makes better contact, walks more, plays better defense, and runs the bases better. He does play defense better. That's true.

This strike zone is tighhhht. Looks pretty accurate according to mlb.com, but I'm hoping it's this tight for the reds too.

While I agree, the fact that Lopez walks so many doesn't make me question this move as much. Drake has a 8.0 BB/9 going right now. I know. I guess I worded it poorly. Both are not great options, so I am not sure it really matters. -

Would you see to elaborate? I don’t understand why playing baseball in between snowstorms makes way more sense but I’m willing to listen. I am curious as well. One part of the post makes it seem like he is advocating for summer ball, but then mentions spring ball at the end.

As a coach, I know part of the reason is because there are so many options for boys in the spring, so there are less boys that go out. I remember when I was in high school I had to choose between tennis and baseball. It was a tough decision and I would have loved for baseball to be in the summer.
