I've had discussions with coaches who are mlb fans regarding the number of injuries and weather related postponements early in each season. Would MLB and the players union ever consider starting ST later, push back opening day to 3rd week of April, and bring back the double header concept in the summer. Heck, even expand rosters for the first few weeks in order to preserve overall health and quality of the product. There are plenty of warm cities and cities with domes. It wouldn't be that hard to have a schedule that mostly avoids cold weather early in the season. I'm sure Boston, New York, etc would be upset that they never have a true opening day.
