    I thought it was pretty obvious that the crowd wanted Sheets to stay in the game. Im confused why a few posts before you said you didnt think it was because he took Sheets out, more of a "hatred" for Ned. Kind of mixed signals, or im confused by what you wrote. Im sure more boos would happen during the introduction instead of when he takes the pitcher out in a 4-1 game.

    Not to hi-jack. If you like raging bull, you should take a trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Infact, ill say most every ride there is better then six flags. Place in unreal. Sad to hear about TDK ride though. My girlfriend was looking forward to checking it out some time.

    "That's a nice thought if you're playing the game on paper, but in the real life situations where the games on the line, the top pitcher has to be the closer, or at least you have to have a very reliable pitcher as your closer." I would prefer to have my most reliable closer come in during the highest leverage situations. For example. 1-0 against the cards. They have their 3-5 guys up(2 righties). Give me Torres, whom has been the most "reliable." Let Mota come in during th 9th against 6-8. EDIT: DOH, TLB said basically the same thing.

    Ever see Anaconda 2? Only guess would be mating seasong. Mateing? Whichever. That would be my guess.....They all cluster and go after the female in heat. Just a guess. Pretty gross....I hate snakes and spiders....ewww

    Pretty sure you are right. This happened once in the championship of a softball tourny I was in. An ASA ump let the run score. Said the bobble was the start of the catch.

    I feel the same way. I just dont think there are any options that are better then him. Weaver? No thank you. At least with Bush you might get one of those games where he does cruise for a quality start. I just dont see anyone else doing that. (edit: pared back long quote --1992)

    While I dont like to judge a pitcher by ERA. Im not sure how many teams have "a number 5" pitcher that are much better then a 4.6 ERA.

    His career era is 4.95. Pitched 5 innings in his last start, gave up 4 runs.(small sample I know) Bush's whip is about the same as last year, his BAA is quite a bit lower. Without looking, I would guess he might have had a touch of bad luck with some bad pitches. This is just a quick look at a few stats before tonites start of course.

    While I didnt get to watch him tonite. His starts are veryyyyy inflated. If hes kept in the rotation I would assume his stats would begin to get closer to his career norms. Will he keep getting that chance? Not sure. I thought I saw somewhere that the Pirates offense has done pretty well this year. I would assume they were due to score some runs this series. Just a thought.

    Wow, that lady interviewing Jay-Z....did she have a lisp? Was it the sound? Was anyone else as annoyed as I was? Did anyone else flip over between innings? Did I ask a lot of questions? Sheeshhhhh

    Only 1 earned. Jeter error, which makes me happy. I dont think hes as good as everyone else does.

    I never really thought of that. At first I didnt understand why they werent going to let him compete. I never thought about the injury thing, rolling and ankle, sprain, etc. I now think alittle differently...

    Laporta and Gagne for soria and single A upside? Not a chance. Why would we take a single A with a high ceiling? Laporta is in AA with a high ceiling. This offer just doesnt make much sense to me. Noway would I trade a potential stud for soria. Closers are not all that they once were. Most every closer is having trouble these days. Soria could fall apart just as well as any other closer has lately. Look at Gagne since 2003/04, hes gotten considerably worse. I personally think closers are something most teams find in house.

    I would say alittle bit of both. They have good players. That doesnt make them a good team. They can be good, but I think a lot of us expected a bit too much. It could all change with a good homestand though. Which I am hoping for. I definatly dont think they are as bad as 75-87, also, its hard to count those games last year, the team is definatly different this year from last year. I prefer to look at it as the team was 15-11, and is now 1-7. I think its silly to look at the last 162 games if your looking at this team. I DO however, think you could look at the last 162 if your evaluating Yost. But thats for a different discussion.
