  1. It is cool to see Maryland knock off Duke for a share of the ACC title.....then realize that the Badgers beat both of those teams. That will help the RPI!
  2. When Jon Leuer plays well, the Badgers can be a very good team. 5 starters that are able to score 20 ( They all have this year - remember that Jarmuz does not start anymore) makes the Badgers an interesting matchup for anyone.
  3. I know this is an old post, but its been bugging me. What exactly is the point of having ice dancing AND figure skating? As far as I can tell, the above description is exactly right - figure skating for less athletic people. To me, this would be like putting men's slow-pitch-with-keg-on-second-base softball in the Olympics. Or better yet, bumper curling. Wow......in one response you picked two new sports that I could participate in. Well done!
  4. A great game....very fun to watch. Even though I am very pro-USA, being a Penguins fan, it didnt really kill me as much to see Crosby win it. Anyone else notice how important of roles Wisconsin athletes played in that game? Heatly, Rafalski, Suter, Pavelski........very cool
  5. Badgers earn the Easy sweep for the weekend! Nice work Needmorefans! (He drove the 6+ hours up there) One more tough weekend ahead, at Minnesota, next weekend. It looks like UW will be the #2 seed for the WCHA tourney and it is really beginning to look like they have earned a #1 seed for the NCAA tourney. Go Bucky
  6. Nice find Homer! That is a good article about the Bucks and the future.....definately shaping up to be a good team over the next few years.
  7. Offensively he had 14 points - six on two three pointers but he did get 4 blocks. I only saw some of the first half, but at least four Nankival's points came in the paint on a dunk and a nice post move.Adding to this point, the first Badger points of the game was a post up to Nankivil. He drop-stepped and dunked. Great move. I think Bo wanted them to get Keaton a touch in the post to start the game. Sorry TLB, just picking on you. I hope he turns the corner as well. Dont worry about rebounds, I believe Jordan Taylor led the team in the first half. It is what it is.
  8. Well the Badgers finally looked good in the first half. All it took was a small dose of Indiana....... TLB is probably going nuts right now. Nankivil is having a very nice game so far...... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Tonights line is a great line for any player. Bogut was the man tonight!
  10. It was my Freshman Year at UW (1999-2003). What a great season. Going to State Street and seeing a huge mass of people from one end to the other was awesome! It was the first time I was ever "body passed" over peoples heads. My friends lifted me up, and I was passed for two whole blocks of state street! Everyone was celebrating and having a great time.... The celebration at Camp Randal when they returned was really cool as well. I wish I could have had a video camera! The players were all going crazy and it was well worth the wait. That was a great time to be at UW. With Ron Dayne, it made for some great student season tickets!
  11. Awesome game and a great win! I think its bigger news that Canada lost.....Eh?
  12. Lets go USA!!!! This afternoon's Russia vs. Czech Republic was a great warmup. They also had a ton of Miracle on Ice stuff going on, which always is great to watch.
  13. Wallus I coach as well (high school) and I understand completely what you are saying. Apparently, UW does not want, or have the personell, to go into the high post. It is very frustrating to watch. Half the time, they dont even look to throw it inside. We are not a dangerous team when we play like we did today
  14. Dear Bo The swing does not work against a zone. So you do not use it against a zone. Please get a zone offense. What we resort to when teams run a zone against us is not good. Watching Taylor and Hughes pass back and forth for 30 seconds followed by a rushed shot is just not doing it for Badger fans. It cannot be our only zone offense. (This second half vs. Northwestern is brutal to watch!)
  15. Good point, which brings me to a conversation I had with the people around me on Friday night when the "gopher rejects" chant started. Several people were wondering what other schools chant against us...... A lot of people thought it was probably gopher rejects...... So you are not alone in thinking this way. Luckily we have been better than Minnesota the last few years
  16. Well I am feeling much better tonight. Seeing Captain Blake G go down with an elbow to the head is a bit scary, but other than that, a great game. When UW takes a loss on a Friday, they need to stomp em on Saturday. Dont like Goody giving up 8 goals for the weekend......but St Cloud does have a great offense.
  17. After a night of sleep, still disappointed. Team played bad. Band played bad.....they changed their normal song routine for a bunch of new ones, and the crowd was not in to it. Camera guys were bad too.....they continued to show a young lady wearing way too much red lipstick.....it looked bad, and they showed her on the big screen probably 10 different times. Frustrated! St Cloud fans chanted "over-rated" loud enough at the end of the game that it was easy to hear. We need a win. I need them to win! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. I agree with about everything you just said!
  19. TLB - not to hate on you, but a comment. The Badgers dont run the swing against a zone defense....they run a very slow, poorly organized, zone offense. Bo has taken some heat in years past for not having a better zone offense. The swing only works against a traditional man to man defense. No inside play makes it very hard on them to beat a zone. It forces them into the brutal hoist em up offense that we witnessed last night. The swing, or any offense, can get very bad without good shooting! Last nights game was bad all the way around. I dont think it can get much worse. Hopefully Leuer will now get his feet under him and the team will get used to having him back in the rotation. I was disappointed in Bo's rotation last night. Jarmuz and Bruiser played a little too much, and Evans and Wilson didnt play enough. We had too much time with too few scorers in the game. Nankivil acted like he was only allowed to catch and shoot, and looked very slow. We looked incredibly un-athletic compared to Minnesota, and that sucks, because generally we are a way better team that Minnesota. But for some reason, these long and athletic teams make UW look terrible from time to time.
  20. A couple of good shot chances, but all in all, a ton of mistakes from all positions. D was horrible, goalie not good tonight, passing awful. A tough night. St. Cloud's offense is very good. But they give up a ton. We need to, and should, bounce back tomorrow!
  21. Must be nice to be able to create another trick thats even better when your competition begins to close in on you.....White was a beast! Anyone else catch the women's downhill? Most of Vonn's big rivals had huge wipeouts. Really crazy to watch. The hill was tough.....Vonn went to Men's skis, and they seemed to really help her....NBC discussed this and actually no other women in the event felt that the skis could help. Vonn was awesome. I agree 100% with the Curling comment. Lets go already USA!
  22. Purdue vs. Ohio St tonight. The few teams ahead of UW in the standings are going to start beating each other up, which will definately help the Badgers chances of moving up. Big game at Minnesota tomorrow.
  23. Huge Badger fan......but only cheer against MU when they play UW. Was a UW student, did some grad work in Milwaukee and had MU tix while living there. I never liked Crean, and since he has left I have followed MU a ton more. Buzz needs to recruit someone bigger than 6'6" one of these years. Having both teams do well over the last decade has been great for Wisconsin overall.
  24. Wisconsin = very good today. Indiana = very bad
  25. well played NMF. There are a lot of rich hockey players. I wouldnt mind seeing all non-pro players, but I think the Dream Team killed that.
