  1. Weeks needs to make a good play like that. I feel like he drops balls, dives and misses, etc a lot.
  2. Baserunning costs the Crew at least 1, if not more that inning...........you know the plane home after this trip could be a coach (or horrible pitcher or two) lighter........
  3. Good to see the players still celebrate with Gallaraga while the manager and coaching staff chewed the umpire a new behind........Joyce will feel the shame shortly when he sees the replay.
  4. As a guy who is almost 30, Junior has been playing as long as I can remember. And he was great back in the day. Too many great plays in center to recall which was his best.....and a picture perfect swing. Another guy that we will wonder how great he would have been without injury..... I agreee it is a sad day.
  5. I might wind up having to eat these words. Loe's sinker was a fantastic pitch last night -- just tons of break on it. His slider looked pretty solid too. Not sure I think he could have as much success as a starter, since he'd lose velocity, but he could be a nice fit in the bullpen. There's some sinker/slider types that have had success starting. Say what you want about Jon Garland, but he's having a great year and he hasn't missed a start since early in W's first term. I agree with you TLB, I was impressed with Loe last night. JB12, I hope you are on to something......it would be nice if we found something like Garland with one of these guys. I think the crew is due for a diamond in the rough......
  6. Pretty cool article in today's State Journal about our new assistant coach - who happened to be a nasty gopher against us in his playing days..... http://host.madison.com/s...5-966e-9c3ea80972ae.html Its a pretty cool article. Herb Brooks must have been a great coach to play for at UM. Enjoy!
  7. Bratfest in Madison sets a new record, with over 209,300 brats sold this year. I love brats......thats a lot of brats....... (edit - that is the world record for brats sold in a weekend)
  8. This stuff happens, and it sucks. He is a good player and his team will suffer for this. I agree with dlk9s, in fact, Tony LaRussa probably was ready to condemn them for the act of showing emotion before he heard the news that a player was hurt.
  9. Adding to what BrewCrew said, as I watched the game on TV yesterday, I saw something I had never seen in a major league game. When Suppan started to falter, the pitching coach visted the mound. The boos stopped, and in fact, there was a loud cheer as the pitching coach walked out. Never, ever seen a mound visit cheered. When Soup started pitching again, the boos started. It is pretty sad.
  10. And in the St. Louis bible of baseball, gritty is o.k. where flashy is an big no-no unless you are baseball Jesus (Pujols).
  11. I really dont like Jose Reyes. Guy is way too flashy for his game. And he just biffed our catcher in the head on a terrible swing. What a bum
  12. Dang Hart almost got another one....that ball must look huge to him right now. Gotta think several teams will be asking about him......crazy how this guy has heated up I have a ton of respect for Henry Blanco.....even if the only team he can hit is the Brewers.
  13. Crazy lineup, but I like it. Good start Rickie, now build on it! He gets hot, this team is going to go on a big run
  14. Really cool stuff. It pumps you up to see that......now if the pitching gets going........we could get back into it
  15. BrewCrew, Louis, that made me smile. Great memories. Was awesome in Apocalypse Now and Hoosiers. Funny guy......Will be missed.
  16. Great Bands and their leaders who think that since they have money they should influence how the rest of us act, vote, spend our money, etc. I am looking at you Bon Jovi, Bono, Diddy, etc. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Coffey had to change gloves due to the color....new rule this year in baseball, umps decision. They got the inside scoop on the radio apparently
  18. Rickie stop striking out please. Thats twice already tonight.......
  19. Thats pretty cool for a guy making a lot of Brewer cash. I hope he can turn his career around at some point......pitching.....who knows.
  20. I agree with you about Flags. War books can be very good reads. That is why it is what I stick too.... welcome to the addicted club.
